Bell Meadow Lodge has 3 Bedrooms (sleeps 10), (+2) with 2-1/2 Baths

3 bedrooms, (sleeps 10), 2-1/2 baths and has two single rollaway beds for an additional 2 guests. The main Lodge has a spacious and open kitchen/living room with a rinnai heater and soapstone woodstove. We have high speed fiber optic wireless internet with cable televisions in each bedroom and living room and seasonally a tv is on the covered porch. A fully equipped kitchen and dining area with seating for 9. Front load laundry machines on the main floor. We have a covered porch with large eating area and plenty of seating with a new weber gas bbq grill. Bonfire pit for evenings by the fire and cooking smores. Dogs allowed upon request for an additional charge - no cats allowed.

**BE ADVISED** - 4 wheel or AWD drive vehicles are an ABSOLUTE MUST FOR RENTAL DURING WINTER MONTHS!! We keep the road plowed and sanded for your stay in the winter. (WE CAN PROVIDE WINTER PARKING FOR A COUPLE TWO WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES AT BASE OF DRIVEWAY WITH PRIOR APPROVAL ONLY!!)

**ANYONE RENTING THE LODGE IN THE WINTER MUST HAVE A 4 WHEEL OR AWD VEHICLE. A TWO WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET UP THE ROAD IN THE WINTER** (WE CAN PROVIDE PARKING FOR A COUPLE CARS AT THE BASE OF OUR ROAD IN WINTER ~ WITH PRIOR APPROVAL).

This private, secluded ranch style house was built in 2009 and sits on 52+ acres with a large private covered porch and is located at the end of a private road just one mile off nys rte 73 in the heart of keene and has one of the best views in the town! Enjoy the peacefulness that our private property provides you and your family. There is a fire pit that you can sit around for your enjoyment! A perfect place to spend your summer, thanksgiving, christmas or new year's vacation!! You won't be disappointed!

Situated in the 'home of the high peaks' this lodge offers you easy access to all the fall and winter activities such as, hiking, ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding and ice skating. Lake placid and the olympic venues, mount van hoevenburg, whiteface mountain, ski jumping complex, olympic skating oval and the olympic hockey arena are all just a 15 to 20 minute drive!

This non-smoking home is decorated with beautiful north american small and large game mounts and has many deer antlers and other furs, features rustic knotty pine walls and kitchen cabinets, hardwood maple floors upstairs and ceramic tile and carpeting in the two downstairs bedrooms. This home boasts a 1296sf main floor with a full finished basement, a fully equipped kitchen with dining area that is open to the living room with a cozy woodstove, 3 separate bedrooms (upstairs master bedroom has a king size bed, a private full bath and a walk in closet, 2 downstairs bedrooms, both w/queen beds and 1 set of bunk beds and a shared full bath). We also have two single roll a way beds. A washer and dryer are available for your needs on the main floor. Sit on the hearth by the woodstove in the comfortable living room and enjoy a cold fall or winter night by the fire. The large covered porch is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. There is a new gas bbq grill on the covered porch for grilling up your favorite meals. There is a beautiful lawn with gardens around the home, a bonfire pit to sit around and large meadow down in front of the house. You may enjoy seeing some of natures wildlife, such as birds, deer, fox, turkeys, etc., wandering around the field.

There is a large flat screen television in the living room with surround sound with a cd and dvd player. There are flat screen tv's in all three bedrooms with cable tv. We have cable television and high speed wireless fiber optic internet access.

My husband was born and raised in Keene and I have lived here for 24 years. Our blended family consists of six children and two grandchildren. We now winter in Florida and our son manages the property during that time. We spend the summer months either here at our home or visiting family. We decided we wanted to share the beauty and tranquility our home and property have to offer.

Why Karen Sheasby chose New York

Although we lived in Keene, we spent many weekends on this property at our 'camp' that we built on it in 1998. The more time we spent up here the more we didn't want to leave. We built our new home on the property adjacent to our 'camp' so we could enjoy the beauty and privacy this property offers. The camp became our guest cottage for family and friends, which is now being shared for your enjoyment, (as a separate rental unit). We have spent a lot of time improving the property around our home and take great pride in all we've done. We love everything about our home and the property. We have built several raised bed gardens and enjoy spending the time growing the many vegetables and fruits we love when we are home during the summer months.

What makes this house unique

Enjoy our 52+ acres that surround the property. A breathtaking panoramic view of the high peaks overlooking the valley south towards Giant, Noonmark and Dix Mtns. Certainly one of the best views in town!

Stunning Property!!!

Staying at Karen's cabin was even more beautiful than what we anticipated!

The views were absolutely stunning, her home is beautifully furnished, extremely clean, & her home is well stocked with anything and everything you would ever possibly need....Karen's house was so cozy and the views were so amazing, we didn't even want to leave her cabin to explore the neighboring area!

Not only that, Karen was unbelievably attentive to all my questions & concerns prior to booking, extremely accommodating, prompt and informative as well as being gracious, honest and professional......We were truly sad to leave....

We would have extended an extra day if it wasn't for the Nor'easter that was making its way up to us. So unfortunately, we had to leave at our scheduled checkout time..... But we will most definitely love to book with Karen again if she'll have us!!!!

In fact, every weekend that's passed, we say how much we miss being at Karen's cabin!

Amazing!!!!

The views are spectacular! I enjoyed having my coffee on the porch first thing in the morning and watching the deer graze near by. The house is clean, neat and well kept. Utensils are very good and the overall furniture is well done. World class hiking is at your doorstep! What a place....we are already booked again for 2 visits next year. This is the best kept secret in NY. Shhhhhh, don't tell a sole!

Property was fine. Driveway a little tricky. Very

Lake Placid area was great. Beautiful, scenic, lots of athletes around. Wouldn't stay at this property again. I don't like having the owners 100 feet away the whole week we were there. No privacy. Couldn't use the file pit because it was btw our rental and the owners house.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry our presence bothered you and made your stay unenjoyable. We are typically onsite in the summer months, as stated in the property owner write up. During those months we rent out our main house and we stay in our cottage. We do our best to not intrude or interfere with guests that are at the house. We have never a had a complaint about our presence. We graciously share the fruits, herbs and vegetables that we grow in the gardens at the main house with our guests. The porch of the main house and the porch of the cottage are located at opposite ends of each building which allows privacy while cooking, dining and relaxing on the porch at either the house or cottage. The firepit is located on the lawn area between the two buildings and has been enjoyed by many guests in its present location. It offers a beautiful view and plenty of room for guests to enjoy it.

The house is very nicely done. Everything including appliances, furniture and utensils is of good quality.

The property is gorgeous with great views. It is a perfect place for pets as well.

A four vehicle drive is definitely a must in winter.

Spectacular Panoramic Views That are Second to None!

This custom built cabin was well beyond our expectations. It is so clean well built and quality throughout. you can tell they took pride in their home. It had everything you could imagine and then some from the fully stocked kitchen to the tvs in all the rooms, netflix, blankets, you name it. We didn't want for a single thing. Our chocolate lab was loving life too. Karen was one of the best owners we have dealt with and we all LOVED it. I miss being there already. We definitely would recommend this home and we definitely will rent again. Karen, thank you again for everything.

Brilliant Beautiful Family Retreat

This was the venue for one of our family's most memorable Christmas trips in the last 20 years. It was perfect in every way being near enough for grocery/deli shopping/gas and plenty of recreational offerings while being situated at the top of a mountain ensuing privacy in a most well equipped, comfortable and secure family hunting compound. Before all of our young adult children arrived with their guests and dogs, my wife and I enjoyed the master bedroom, comforts and facilities of the main house all to ourselves. When the family arrived, the Christmas tree went up and the excitement level and festivities of a larger party were amped-up, we favored the seclusion and comfort offered by the smaller one bedroom hunting lodge about 500 steps away where we moved for the remainder of our visit. We were close enough to be involved as much as we wished but were free to have our own solitude, schedule and independence. When the long awaited snow arrived the day or so after Christmas, the property's scenic vistas of beautiful forested mountains shifted into a winter wonderland much like one putting on a heavy coat for the winter season. It was always so exciting to arise each day with a nice coffee and to look out over the property to see the footprints of the family of wild turkeys, raccoon's, deer and other of God's creatures that had visited during the early morning. On some occasions we actually caught sight of some of our "animal and fowl visitors" and so much appreciated the closeness to all of the nature.The property owners ensured our safety and good times by arranging for snow plows to scrape the drive and access road back off the mountain so that we were never stranded. We and our guests were totally warm, cosy, comfortable and safe the entire stay and had no problems whatsoever being able to get to the ski slopes, restaurants and activities in the region. Our visit was an all round success and delight. Karen, we are most thankful for your family sharing this beautiful property with us an for ensuing that we had such a wonderful time.
