Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 6

Glittering blue waves, a vast sky, and pleasant green lawns are all yours from the balcony of our townhouse-style condo at Summerhouse 226. Overlooking beautiful Crescent Beach, this condo is the ideal spot for your next St. Augustine vacation.

Plan to spend some time each day on the balcony just beyond the living room at Summerhouse 226. Offering a lovely view of the ocean, it’s a great place to unwind with a glass of wine after a busy day in St. Augustine. Send the kids down to the oceanfront pool – you can watch them plainly from the balcony! The seabirds wheel past, the sky changes colors, and the balmy breeze refreshes you. Now this is really living!

When it’s time to go indoors, the air conditioning will immediately remind you how much you love modern comforts. And that’s a good thing, because Summerhouse 226 has plenty of them, from the flat-screen TV with DVD player and VCR to the sofa that unfolds into a bed for 2. The living room is made for lounging, and there’s plenty of space for your whole group to grab some much-needed downtime after sightseeing or playing in the surf all day.

Put out some snacks and drinks on the big dining table just beyond the living room as your gang settles down for a night “in.” This table has plenty of space to seat the whole group in comfort for a fancy home-cooked meal, but even if you’re just reheating restaurant delicacies or cracking open a pizza box, you’ll find the table useful. Indulge the kids in a game of Monopoly, break out the Pictionary, or stage an impromptu poker night for pennies or peanut shells! You may find yourself lingering long after bedtime at the table, the sliding glass door cracked so you can still hear the surf and feel a bit of salty breeze.

Just in case you do feel inspired to whip up a gourmet feast (or simply pancakes for Sunday morning), feel free to use the fully stocked kitchen at Summerhouse 226. All you add is the groceries; we’ve got all the cookware, dishes, glasses, utensils, and gadgets you could ask for filling the cupboards and drawers here. Cooking in someone else’s kitchen is always more fun than your own, and you’ll appreciate how sparkling clean and new everything is in here. Let the dishwasher do the clean-up, reheat leftovers in the microwave, and fill up the coffee pot for tomorrow morning! Your work here is done!

A half-bath serves the living and dining area downstairs, while upstairs are 2 full baths and 2 bedrooms, sleeping 4 easily. This quiet and spacious floor is perfect for getting a great night’s sleep, especially if members of your group go to bed at different times. The early birds can get to sleep comfortably while the night owls are still being loud downstairs!

The master suite is one of the crowning glories of Summerhouse 226, featuring a queen-sized bed that you will look forward to all day long. There’s also a private TV in here with DVD player, and a big window to remind you that paradise is all around you outdoors. The en-suite includes a walk-in shower, so if anyone has accessibility issues, there are no steep sides to jump over.

The second bedroom is ideal for children or friends. Two twin-sized beds fill this room, along with a desk just right for setting up the laptop. A second full bath serves this room, with both a shower and tub option. We’ve also got a laundry room at your disposal, and we provide all the linens and towels you need. Everything is taken care of here!

You’re going to love the Summerhouse condo complex. It’s the final one before Matanzas Inlet to the south, so you have no neighbors except dolphins and fish on one side! There are several swimming pools at this family friendly resort, as well as tennis, basketball, and racquetball courts, boat storage, a children’s playground, picnic facilities – you name it! And it all sits on beautiful, unspoiled Crescent Beach, one of northeast Florida’s very finest.

The grounds are very well maintained.

The unit itself has many structural flaws. The worst of witch is the front door. It's a knuckle buster. Wall outlets that don't work. A three legged table that needed four. (Missing a leg) Broken deck chairs. As for the ocean view.... you can in fact kind of see it..... The interior is a cross between 1980 and 1990. The master bedroom is fine.... As long as there is no wind. If there is, there is a dull hum. That is reminiscent of a skilled throat singer, singing in 2 octaves. As the wind finds its way thru the cracks. The check in email we got had all the wrong info (door code/ wifi info). The best part of the stay was the a/c. It worked nicely. Over all, not the best. But, not the worst. If you book here, please, save your knuckles. Careful with the front door.

Close Proximity to the Beach

  • 3 of 5

Pros: Condo was great location to the beach, and the pool was steps away from the condo. The view was great. The condo is a good size for a family. You have enough space to not be on top of each other. Good size kitchen table for everyone to eat at. Bedrooms are a good size and there 2.5 baths. Basketball, tennis, shuffle board, and pickle board all on the property. Best beach we have ever stayed on!

Cons: The condo is VERY WORN DOWN. The door frame is falling apart. The couch sinks all the way down to the hide a way bed, not comfortable at all. All the furniture is worn, dirty and old. The table on the patio was broken so we couldn’t use it. There were 3 chairs on the patio, one was broken and the other 2 were unsteady. The coffee pot and toaster were gross, so we had to go out and buy them. The master bedroom lamps didn’t work at all. There was a ceiling fan but only one bulb was working. The second bedroom beds are TERRIBLE!!! You sit on them and they sink to the floor and are on rickety frames that are broken. I felt absolutely that my family had to sleep on them. We would been better off buying blow up mattresses!

We booked the condo through Vacation Rental Pros. Let me tell you. DON’T EVER BOOK through them! They are horrible. Called several times to only be hung up on. After driving 19 hours and arriving at 2:00 am, find out they have given us the wrong code for the condo. Called the emergency number and no one called us back until 8:45 am! We had a great time sleeping in the car!!!

Glorious beach vacation

  • 3 of 5

The VRBO condo location was beyond our dreams. Our building was one of 5 buildings grouped together facing the ocean. Lovely pool in the middle of the common area with lots ot tables and gathering spots. Also we were located at the end of the beach so we could take fantastic walks to the end of the island and cross under the bridge. Location Location. Unfortunately the condo was going through repairs so there were cut holes in the floors walls and ceilings - with ceiling panels and such left around for us to manage. Kitchen was small but fully stocked. Bedrooms had water damage, master had broken shades. Light switches and fan switches didn't work. I hope all of this was just temporary as they continued to fix this place up.

A great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a really good time at the condo. It was clean and nice, and had a lot of equipment. The proximity to the beach is so convenient, and the pool is nice and warm. There is also a little playground for the kids, which is nice. There were 2 missing bulbs, and someone came immediately after we called to fix it. We are absolutely recommend this place!
