About Kauai Vacation Rentals
It all began with a vision. A desire to share the magical island of Kauai with the world. And, founder, Lucy Kawaihalau, has dedicated her life to that goal through Kauai Vacation Rentals. "In a vacation rental home or condo, you really feel like you're living here," reflects Lucy, "so bringing together home owners and guests to achieve the 'best fit' is only a part of our distinguished reputation. Our responsibilities are twofold. For our owners, we provide the best management and maintenance services so they can rest easy, knowing their homes are meticulously cared for, since they may be thousands of miles away from their investment. For our guests, we believe they should be treated like royalty." And, it is the respect for the guest that gained Kauai Vacation Rentals recognition throughout the world. A friendly team dedicated to serving the needs of guests, with attention to all the details, makes it all possible. "A vacation to Kauai is so meaningful," adds Lucy. "For some, it may be the trip of a lifetime. For others, it may be a yearly event. This is a splendid place to relax. Our guests are 'energized' when they go home. That's what we mean when we say, 'magical Kauai.' " This genuine business model embodies the Hawaiian word, 'Aloha,' and it has gained much recognition within the industry and business venues, including numerous awards. Many glowing articles have been written, from Kauai Business & Real Estate Magazine, Hawaii Business, and internationally distributed Travel & Leisure Magazine to famed Fortune Magazine. In fact, Lucy Kawaihalau was personally honored with coveted awards from the Small Business Administration and Kauai Chamber of Commerce for her successful business achievements. Lucy concludes, "I am deeply grateful for our recognition and awards. Yet, it is the phone call, with heartfelt and glowing remarks about a visit to Kauai from a satisfied guest that brings us great joy. Therein lies our greatest achievement."

We were delighted to have this house for our vacation home. There was lots of space for our 3 couples and 2 singles. The living and dining areas were well furnished. The kitchen had all the appliances and dinnerware we needed. There was some snorkling and beach gear in the garage. The windows were so clean that each of us bumped into a sliding glass door thinking it was open to one of the lanais. The climate was humid but not too hot and the ceiling fans gave us comfort. When we first arrived the house was buttoned up tightly and rather musty, but that was alleviated by opening the windows and starting the ceiling fans.
Minor fixes include the master bathroom door latch ( it closes and latches but you need a knife to unlatch it ) and the jets do not work in the master bathroom jaccuzzi.
Perfect for our group
We are a family of 10, 6 adults and 4 children ages 1 to 8. This place was perfect and fun. We will try to re-book for our next trip to Kauai.
Should be Better for the Area / Money
When I was booking my family holiday I was looking for a upscale home in the Princeville area and when I saw the pictures of this home I knew I found it!
As soon as you drive into the neighborhood you will see a large fountain and a golf course which already sets the stage of an upscale area. There is also a playground for the kids. It is not a walk to the beach so if you are looking for that then this is not the house for you.
The house is on a quiet street but still close to a shopping center which proved to be convenient for our family who cooked a lot at the house. The outside of the house is gorgeous and you can't wait to get inside. Then you open the door and the inside is AWESOME! We had 13 people in the house and there was more than enough space for us not to feel like we climbing over each other.
The bedrooms downstairs had everything you needed and the bathrooms were amazing. They were clean and modern. The bedroom upstairs was the perfect size for the Master bedroom however it was missing the TV. The Master bath was a place you would want to live in - spacious, up to date and accomodating.
The kitchen and dining areas were open enough to fit most of us although I wished the kitchen was bigger. The kitchen had eveything you would need.
Everything sounds and looks good at this point, right?? Well once I had stayed there for a day I noticed some things that I thought should have been taken care of for the amount of $$ we paid. Let's start upstairs : no tv in the master bedroom, the jets on the bathroom tub did not work, the water closet & clothes closet needed some serious paint - there were scuff marks everywhere. One of the cabinet doors to the garbage area was cracked in half (couldn't use it at all), the internet password did not work, the walls need paint everywhere. The deck had a huge black mark on it…like it was burned.
Downstairs - really the only issue with downstairs was that the hot tub never worked. We did call the mgmt. team and they said they would send someone but to no avail. This was disappointing because the hot tub was one of the reasons why we booked this house.
Overall, the house was a fit for our family but we expected more upkeep for the price. I think if they do the upgrades it is worth the money and if not, then they may want to lower the price. There are only 2 reasons why I wouldn't rent again: not close enough to the beach & the upkeep.
