Shasta Loft in Historic Downtown Bend with Outdoor Sauna

Bedrooms 1
Space 650 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Open space, large decks, mountain views, quiet street, walk everywhere, Sauna

The Shasta Loft is a favorite for its downtown location in Bend, Oregon. A one bedroom and one bathroom 650 square foot "loft" situated on a very quiet street above a two car garage with a washer and dryer and private access is a fully equipped Bend vacation rental. The Loft is very open, light and bright with vaulted ceilings and skylights throughout which offers cozy comfort for two. The new hotel grade hide-a-bed in livingroom can increase occupancy by 2 adults or 2 kids. Ideal for couples or young families with kids aged 5+. The main bedroom has a new 100% natural latex (March 2017) mattress from Organic Sleeping Products.

Relax after a long day of recreating in Bend in the authentic scandinavian outdoor barrel sauna. The sauna is privately located in the back yard and seats two people comfortably. Extra bathrobes and towels provided.

Shasta Loft has beautiful sunset views of the Cascade Mountain Range and the charm of the quiet and private Old Bend neighborhood from the front deck with your morning coffee or sipping a glass of wine while gazing at the sunset!

Enter upon hardwood floors and granite counter tops in the fully equipped kitchen with a four burner gas range and breakfast bar for two as well as a rich dark brown tall cafe table and two chairs. Right off of the kitchen is an additional large deck with patio seating for four and gas barbeque grill.

The living room features a sofa sleeper, gas fireplace, flat screen television, Blu-ray player, Bose stereo sound system and a small deck with seating for two with mountain views. Cross ventilation combined with a ceiling fans provide maximum airflow throughout the open floor plan.

A queen master bedroom with skylight and a fully tiled roomy bathroom make this a perfect spot for quick getaways or extended stays when visiting downtown Bend.

A very short 8 minute walk takes you to Downtown Bend for all of the fine dining, breweries, restaurants and boutique shopping as well as Drake Park which lines the Deschutes River. In the other direction is the same easy 8 minute walk to the Old Mill District for movie theatres, shopping, dining and the Les Schwab Amphitheatre for concerts and events. Take a sunset stroll along the Deschutes River, which is only three blocks away.

Shasta Loft is only 25 minutes from Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort!

Cozy place with great attention to detail

  • 5 of 5

The loft is as advertised, on the small side, but we spend most of our time outside anyway. Great attention to detail - very comfortable sleeper sofa, plenty of linen and comforters, and great instructions from owner. Be prepared if you arrive late - the street is quiet and dark and so is the pathway to the entrance of the loft - so a flashlight or a well charged phone are a must. All in all, our stay was great - I would definitely rent it again.

Wonderful Loft in Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great spot and I'd definitely stay at the Shasta Loft again. Shawn, the owner, is very responsive and hospitable. The loft has everything an individual or couple could need on their stay: open indoor/outdoor space with two decks and high ceilings, kitchen stocked with everything you need, very comfortable bedding, laundry, nice bathroom, and a great sauna that I used nearly every night on my winter stay. Furthermore, it's in a perfect location a couple blocks from Deschutes River trails to downtown Bend. Great spot that I'd highly recommend!!

Shasta Loft Bend, OR

  • 4 of 5

This place is beautiful - simple, small, cozy, fabulous windows and skylights, including stars at night, a view of the snow-capped mountains (Sisters and Bachelor) to the West and sunrise to the East. Lovely, simple decor, very well-equipped kitchen. Clean and well-maintained. Easy lock system, great directions by host. Our only complaint is that the fold-out couch (which the host describes as "expensive and hotel grade") was very poorly supplied with bedding. Although the couch was very comfortable, the sheets, mattress pad, and blankets supplied aren't even close to being large enough to cover the bed. With the bedding provided, it couldn't sleep two comfortably. Furthermore, the two little blankets provided are thin and don't provide enough warmth. My sister joined my husband and me at Shasta loft, and was rather uncomfortable on the fold-out couch because the sheets - including the fitted sheet, didn't cover the bed. She would've been miserable had we not had an emergency quilt in our car that she ended up using. The fold-out couch really needs appropriate bedding, otherwise, it is false advertising that the place sleeps 4. This would be an easy fix for the hosts and would convert this VRBO to a 5-star accommodation.

Owner's Response: We are very glad that your group enjoyed their stay in Bend at the loft. Unfortunately, since you only informed us of, and only paid for 2 guests, the sleeper-sofa was not prepped for a third guest. The number of guests registering let's us know how to adequately supply the loft with amenities such as clean towels, comforters and blankets etc. We have however per your feedback purchased a larger set of Queen-Plus sized sheets to ensure the comfort of our future guests.

In the heart of Historic Old Bend. Walking distance to major attractions including Downtown Bend, Old Mill District, Miller Park, McKay Park, Drake Park and Deschutes River. In the winter, Shasta Loft is a perfect location for all alpine sports including downhill skiing, Snowboarding and Cross Country Skiing. Mt. Bachelor ski resort is 20 minute drive away. Summers are ideal for enjoying many of the nearby mountain lakes, 'floating' down the Deschutes River or simply enjoy many of the local craft beers such as 10 Barrel Brewing, Goodlife Brewing, Boneyard Brewery and many more. Crux Fermentation Project has the best sunset in town and great boutique beers. Mt. Biking is some of the best in Oregon and easy ride to trail head. I enjoy the Deschutes River trail for mountain biking.
