About Victoria and Todd H
Victoria and Todd: We loved the area for its nature, mountains and myriad things to do. And of course, because in the Smokies, unlike Florida, you can actually enjoy all 4 seasons! We are avid DIY-ers, but running construction/remodeling project to restore Appalachian Escape from 700 miles away put us to the test!
Victoria and Todd H purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Victoria and Todd H chose Pigeon Forge
We looked far and wide, but could not find a place that had just the right feel to it. We prefer seclusion and privacy, while many cabins are located in the 'resorts' where privacy is in short supply, and where often all cabins look alike and cookie cutter. When we found 'Appalachian Escape', there was no mistaking we had found what we were searching for! We originally fell in love with cabin's secluded property and the peaceful feel it exuded. The cabin itself was another story - the previous owners have erected the shell, but have never completed the inside. There were no interior walls, no flooring, no power and only rudimentary plumbing. Since purchasing it in 2013, it took us over a year to renovate and install EVERYTHING in the cabin: walls, new hardwood floors, doors, trim, stairs, insulation, HVAC, furniture, appliances, lighting, cabinetry...and...and...and... It was a lot of work, but the end results is a fantastic, top-of-the-line mountain cabin that your family and friends will love to come home to and won't ever want to leave!! This is anything but a cookie cutter log home! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have lots to do, from hiking, to white water rafting, to fine dining and live shows, to horseback riding and Go-Karts. We know that this area can entertain virtually any family for years to come...
What makes this Cabin unique
Appalachian Escape offers privacy in nature setting and "cabin in the woods" feel and seclusion, yet easy access by paved roads to all the area attractions and amenities. It also provides plenty of indoor and outdoor space to accommodate large groups while still creating cozy and intimate atmosphere. The cabin is next to the Arts & Crafts District, which is a quaint area with lots of small family-run artisan shops - you don't even have to buy, just go in and talk with the kind folks - they are very friendly people. There is easy access to Pigeon Forge as well! We take pride in knowing that families can create wonderful memories to last a lifetime while staying at Appalachian Escape. Please know we will do everything possible to make sure you have a great vacation in the Smokies!

Nice house but needs some updating and a good clean.
Nice location, house and amenities. Felt like the cleaning crew could do a better job. Coffee table had water all over it from drinks. Very dusty woodwork. Dead flies behind blinds in kitchen. Major mildew problem within the caulk in upstairs shower door. Pillow and an unfolded blanket on floor in upstairs bathroom. So wasn’t certain if it was clean or dirty. The bedding needs to be updated. Pillows are completely flat and sheets, bedspreads are old and warn out. Most rugs could stand to be refreshed too. I honestly can’t remember the last time I slept in a bed with this poor quality of bedding. The kitchen dishes are lacking a few key items (wine glasses, storage bowl with lid for leftovers/cut up fruit and a pizza pan are just a few that come to mind). All of the other dishes are mismatched and college dorm quality. Didn’t feel like the arcade machine had ever been wiped down.
We value all guest feedback – positive and negative.
We always advise our guests in the email and rental agreement to inspect the cabin immediately UPON ARRIVAL. We ask to be notified as soon as possible if there is anything amiss, and to give us an opportunity to address any issue, rather than have a displeased guest. This guest did not communicate any issues to us during their stay, so we presumed that everything was satisfactory.
Summer is extremely busy season with guests back to back and cleaners having only a few hours in between, so unfortunately, they did not do their best job. We have communicated the feedback to them and expect that they will act accordingly. Dinnerware gets broken, so we are constantly replenishing missing pieces. Since styles change over time and we do not replace twenty dishes every time a single dish gets broken, it can result in items that may not exactly match. We regret that the glassware and dinnerware at the property was not to this guest’s liking. Thank you for your input regarding quilt sets and rugs being worn, we are replacing them.
A Great Escape
We loved the cabin. It was rustic, yet very modern, roomy and comfortable. It was described as remote and it was very quiet and peaceful. The pool table, the foosball table and arcade provided lots of entertainment. Everyone had a great time.
Thank you, please choose bluemountaincabins.com for your next vacation the the Smoky Mountains
Great memories in the Smokies
We absolutely loved our cabin in the woods! It had all the amenities we needed, was quiet and very clean. The hot tub and fire pit were big hits with our families.
The communication with the hosts was excellent as well.
We are already taking about booking our return trip!

We really enjoyed our stay! Great layout, ample amenities to entertain, and thorough kitchen supplies . Great place to unwind after spending days enjoying GSMNP. Thanks for opening your home!
Nice Quiet Escape
My Family loved it, certainly the best rental I have been in. Very secluded just what one needs when looking for a log cabin. I could not even see another house from the place yet super close to Gatlinburg. .. We really enjoyed the seclusion of the real cabin experience. The heated bath floors when it was 25 degrees outside was an awesome nice surprise getting out of the shower. (Never had that before) LOL Would certainly stay there again
