Appalachian Escape is a custom built all-log cabin set on several wooded acres. Accessible by ALL PAVED roads and driveway, the cabin offers ample off-street parking for 4+ vehicles. With only 5 steps to the front door, your arrival and unpacking will be easy!

Inside Appalachian Escape Cabin, you will see the thoughtful blend of traditional and modern. Hand-hewn hemlock log walls, exposed beams, gleaming hardwood floors throughout, rustic log furniture are all reminiscent of traditional craftsmanship. Designer pine cone motif light fixtures accent all-log interior.

Floor to ceiling, stone-clad two-sided fireplace beckons you in to snuggle into one of the comfy leather sofas. Watch a movie on a 48” HDTV. Play a game or two on a rustic log pool table. Relive the fun days playing Pacman, Centipede or any of the 48 classic 80s games on the upright arcade.

Fabulous and functional modern kitchen opens into the spacious dining area, so you can create your meal and entertain at the same time. Soft-close cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, custom chiseled-edge granite counter-tops and a large island complete the look.

Dining room has fireplace and a farm-style table seats 10 guests. The expansive kitchen island offers seating for 6, giving your group ample room to mingle or to enjoy sit-down meals together.

Appalachian Escape offers seclusion and privacy while still being close to all the area attractions. Take in the serenity of the Smoky Mountains with wooded and seasonal mountain ridge views. Variety of native plants and trees grow in the cabin’s own backyard - you will feel like you are already in the Smoky Mountains national park. See the flame azaleas and Pink Lady Slippers bloom in spring, followed by rhododendrons in the Summer. Rock away in the rocking chairs on the full-length, covered porch. Have a relaxing dinner on the porch or gather around picnic table and charcoal grill in the yard. Roast marshmallows and make s ‘mores by the back yard fire pit. After a full day of fun, soak in the 5-person hot tub. The expansive, relatively flat backyard has enough room to play. Kids will love the “little log cabin” playhouse, built from the trees harvested on the property.

Whether your idea of a dream vacation is to “hide away” with family and friends, or to enjoy the many area's activities and attractions, escape to Appalachian Escape and find it all! Most desirable local destinations such as Downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Aquarium, zip lines and more are all within easy driving distance.

We'd like you to know that Appalachian Escape Cabin is not a company owned rental business. It is a family owned and cherished vacation home, where we eventually plan to retire to. When we were building the cabin, we blended traditional and rustic elements with today's conveniences and amenities. We also added our unique personal touch by creating or restoring many of the furniture and decor pieces. We hope that you will cherish your time at Appalachian Escape as much as we do, and treat the cabin with care and respect it deserves.

When you compare Appalachian Escape to other cabins of similar size, you will realize that you get more value and better experience with us!

About Victoria and Todd H

Victoria and Todd: We loved the area for its nature, mountains and myriad things to do. And of course, because in the Smokies, unlike in Florida, you can actually enjoy seasons! We are avid DIY-ers, but running construction/remodeling project to restore Appalachian Escape from 700 miles away put us to the test!

Victoria and Todd H purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Victoria and Todd H chose Sevierville

We looked far and wide, but could not find a place that had just the right feel to it. We prefer seclusion and privacy, while many cabins are located in the 'resorts' where privacy is in short supply, and where often all cabins look alike and cookie cutter. When we found 'Appalachian Escape', there was no mistaking we had found what we were searching for! We originally fell in love with cabin's secluded property and the peaceful feel it exuded. The cabin itself was another story - the previous owners have erected the shell, but have never completed the inside. There were no interior walls, no flooring, no power and only rudimentary plumbing. Since purchasing it in 2013, it took us over a year to renovate and install EVERYTHING in the cabin: walls, new hardwood floors, doors, trim, stairs, insulation, HVAC, furniture, appliances, lighting, cabinetry...and...and...and... It was a lot of work, but the end results is a fantastic, top-of-the-line mountain cabin that your family and friends will love to come home to and won't ever want to leave!! This is anything but a cookie cutter log home! Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have lots to do, from hiking, to white water rafting, to fine dining and live shows, to horseback riding and Go-Karts. We know that this area can entertain virtually any family for years to come...

What makes this cabin unique

Appalachian Escape offers privacy in nature setting and "cabin in the woods" feel and seclusion, yet easy access by paved roads to all the area attractions and amenities. It also provides plenty of indoor and outdoor space to accommodate large groups while still creating cozy and intimate atmosphere. The cabin is next to the Arts & Crafts District, which is a quaint area with lots of small family-run artisan shops - you don't even have to buy, just go in and talk with the kind folks - they are very friendly people. There is easy access to Pigeon Forge as well! We take pride in knowing that families can create wonderful memories to last a lifetime while staying at Appalachian Escape. Please know we will do everything possible to make sure you have a great vacation in the Smokies!

Guestbook comments from the owner

SH from IL

My friends and I went down for the last last week of April. The placement of the cabin is central to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg while being very close to the artists communities. Nothing was a more than a 15-20 minute drive. The cabin it self was rustic but modern with brand new amenities like fine granite counter tops and new appliances. The privacy was nice ,the hot tub and fire pit not in direct view of the neighbors properties. The cabin was extremely clean and well organized when we arrived and made for a very nice vacation. I would consider staying at this cabin again in the future.

This cabin was perfect for our family! We enjoyed all the amenities and the layout of the cabin was great for families with children. They were entertained by the games and we were able to build a fire one evening. Very clean Would definitely stay again
