I have always stayed at the Redwoods whenever I visit Yosemite and have never been disappointed. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and all of it's amenities. We plan another visit in May of next year and look forward to once again staying at the Redwoods.
Everything with the cabin and amenities were fantastic. Well all had a great time. We have been to The Redwoods before and we will definitely be back. Very peaceful and beautiful.
I booked this cabin for my family of 4 young children and husband. My kids are 11, 9, 6 and 11 months old. Let me begin with the good. The location is right across the main office for the redwood cabins. This was good for us because they give out free popcorn and that worked for the kids. Also it was walking distance to a river, again, kids loved that. Although the cabins were sold out and we were in a "busy" spot, there wasn't a lot of noise or traffic. We still felt like we were "in nature". It was very quiet too. The cabin was large and nicely furnished. I cooked every meal in the kitchen and used the bbq too. Everything worked. Everyone had ample space. There was a huge dining table that easily accommodated everyone. The cabin even had some good books and games we enjoyed. Also, the staff at the main office was nice and helpful. Ok, now the bad. I found some dishes that were dirty, which was unpleasant. Also, my 11 month old was crawling all over the cabin and her legs were black. She has crawled at home and friends houses and that never happened so I figured the floors really needed a good moping. I wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for my baby crawling. On the third day, the water in the pipes was spitting out in fits. Perhaps this is common in the area, I don't know. We were still able to shower, prepare meals and wash dishes. Also, I was bitten several times by something at night while I was sleeping. I was the only one bitten and I slept with the baby in the same bed. Bugs love me. Although the cabin is in Yosemite, it's very far south of the park. To see the main sites we had to drive at least an hour north. With young children this was not easy but worth it. We never did get to the northern side of the park but the kids enjoyed centinel dome, glacier point, and the waterfalls. Mostly though, they just wanted to hang out by the river. I loved the blacksmith demonstration at the pioneer village near the cabin in wawona. Overall, it was a great visit to Yosemite and I would book this cabin again. No location would be perfect so I think the positives far outweighed the negatives here. Also, I probably would've been bitten by bugs or spiders (whatever it was) anywhere in nature so I wouldn't stress about that but I wanted to mention it in case it was super important to someone. Hope that helps!
Great cabin. Has A/C! Perfect for relaxing after hiking in 90-100+ degrees weather. Plenty of space to move around! Would recommend this cabin and especially to those with disabilities!
We have been coming up to the Redwoods for 37 years with family. My mother in law first introduced us to the Redwoods. Now we come up with our grown children and grandchildren. We have had "Cousins reunions" of up to 35 people in different cabins. Everyone has made at least one return trip by themselves. We golf, hike, swim in the river, and just relax on the deck. The Staff has always been great. To say we love the place would be anunderstatement.
Family of six adults/young adults and we had plenty of room. Loved the big deck!
