The lovely Terra Cotta Inn

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Terra Cotta Inn. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood an easy four block walk from downtown Ashland. The Inn is well stocked with everything one would need for a short or extended stay and was spotless when we arrived. The outdoor areas are inviting and relaxing. We enjoyed having breakfast and coffee in the outdoor kitchen, a quiet 4th of July afternoon lazing in garden in the hammock, and then an evening night cap in the deck / patio area. Elizabeth's hand-crafted pottery and plants are located throughout the property. Mark's craftmanship is everywhere as well. They are delightful people and hosts. We will surely try to stay at Terra Cotta Inn again, however it may be tough because this property is in high demand and, for good reason.

We look forward to returning!

  • 5 of 5

The Terra Cottage Inn exceeded our expectations! The cottage was immaculate with everything you need, from linens and lovely pottery/dishes, to comfortable beds and guides to Ashland. Owners Elizabeth and Mark pay attention to all the details and made us feel right at home with great advice about restaurants and activities. We brought our 9- and 11-year-old sons and they enjoyed picking kale and herbs for our dinner. Every morning my son to looked forward to helping feed the koi in the fish pond. In fact, our kids did not want to leave!

The lush yard, outdoor kitchen and places to relax make this property even better. It is also a short walk to town, the shops and the OSF theaters. Be sure to check out Elizabeth's pottery -- the perfect souvenirs and gifts for those at home. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

All promises kept and more ....

  • 5 of 5

We're a couple in our early seventies and stayed for our first time at Elizabeth's and Mark's wonderful place June 2014. We hope to be able to stay many more times in years to come. Everything about terracottage is exactly as advertised and far more. They have made a warm welcoming spotless home away from home with every amenity thought out and provided. From the interior furnishings and kitchen provisions to the lovely green garden areas, the nooks and crannies for sitting and basking and fresh fruit and veg's in season and directions to anywhere it is a treat. We recommend it highly.

The perfect place in Ashland

  • 5 of 5

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Terra Cottage. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We were in the upper apartment and it was perfect for a couple and two singles. Mark and Elizabeth were thoughtful (delicious chocolates in the fridge, everything we needed in the kitchen) and helpful (directions to the theatre, pointing out what has to be THE best breakfast spot in Ashland).

If we'd had more time there we would have definitely made use of the beautiful garden and deck. As it was, my family stocked up on all their holiday gifts from Elizabeth's pottery shop and left with lovely memories.

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our annual trip to Ashland, mainly for OSF, but also the food, outdoors activities, and relaxing. After previously staying in B&B’s we chose to find a rental house for this week. I did a bunch of research and what struck us about the Terra Cottage Inn was the outdoor kitchen. Since my wife I like to cook, we though this would be the place. I will say this is one place where the pictures do NOT do the property justice.

First, the outdoor kitchen: IT IS THE BEST! The grill, the stove, the sink, the refrigerator, the incredible clay pottery that one of the proprietors (Elizabeth) and the table and benches that the other proprietor (Mark) made make it a perfect spot. We took advantage of this spot to have several dinners and with the lounge chairs, it is perfect for morning coffee.

It should be noted that the Terra Cottage Inn is part of a beautiful property that includes one other rental house and the owners house. Besides the outdoor kitchen, there is a Koi pond, a garden (from which you can pick anything from), a hammock, and outdoor shower (if you want to use it) and Elizabeth's Pottery Studio and Mark’s Art Studios. The have decorated the whole property with great lights and artistic touches everywhere.

Terra Cottage Inn is in it’s own building up a flight stairs(nothing but storage down below). It is not large, but perfect for a vacation rental. During our visit the temps in Ashland were above 100 degrees, but the air conditioning kept is nice and cool.

The kitchen is well stocked and the living room furniture is very comfortable. There is a TV, but we only used it once (to watch my beloved Portland Timbers). The linens in the bedroom are great and the queen bed is comfortable. They also provide great bathrobes!

There is a second bedroom with two twin beds (which we didn’t need to use).

Bathroom has good water pressure and they provided almost everything you could need (shampoo, soap. lotion etc...).

The inside space is not huge, but very comfortable, when you add in all the magical outdoor areas this is an A+ space and we will be back every year.

Quick P.S.- Mark and Elizabeth are the most delightful people. They give you as much privacy as you want, but will also show you their studios, give you local tips, share stories, etc. They certainly added a lot to our experience.
