This charming family friendly log cabin home with an open floor plan has 4 bedrooms ( 1 king, 2 queen, 1 double, and 2 twin) with 2 full baths. Our cabin sits on 5 acres of riverfront property, just a short drive from the town center of Creede. A large living/dining room area with a wood burning stove, has an abundance of windows with amazing views. Fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, washer & dryer, outdoor grill. Enclosed sun porch with sundeck/loft for an added sleeping area-2 Queen blow up mattresses available for your use. Sit on the outdoor porch to watch the sunrise with your morning coffee or in the evening with your favorite adult beverage. Enjoy the natural beauty of the outdoors. Enjoy hiking, fishing, & exploring along the riverfront property within a few short steps from the front door. A rugged marked path with makeshift stairs lead you to the water's' edge of the Rio Grande. Picnic area with picnic table and fire pit. A wonderful setting for the entire family. The dams usually open for run-off in June, but fish can still be caught from the bank. By mid-July the water will have receded to allow fishing from the rocks on the riverbed.
For experienced hikers or ATVs, a spectacular hike is up to Wheeler National Monument--up Pool Table Road. Accessible by ATV, horseback, or hiking. It's about a 15 min. hike with several nasty water crossings up to volcanic ash rock formations. Hikers would probably want to take camping gear and go up one day, spend the night and return the next day. If you want to go by ATV but don't have your own, they can be rented in town.
If outdoor adventures is not your first love, you can enjoy just sitting on the porch with a never ending view or in the cabin with the wood stove crackling and looking out the windows at the beautiful scenery. That alone can make anyone realize what a special place our cabin really is.....enjoy.
