About Paul and Joyce Hofemann
Paul and Joyce were married in 1997 and have three children, twin girls and a son. After living in California and New York we moved to Austin, Texas in 2007. Recently we visited Colorado to escape the Texas summer heat and fell in love with Estes Park. We decided to purchase a second home in this beautiful area for our personal getaway as well as offer it as short term vacation rental for others who want to enjoy the Rocky Mountains.
Paul and Joyce Hofemann purchased this House in 2015
Why Paul and Joyce Hofemann chose Estes Park
Walking distance to downtown restaurants, few hundred yards from Thompson River for fly fishing, large deck overlooking golf course lot that is frequented by large elk during rut season.
What makes this House unique
Parking downtown is nearly impossible during peak summer months. Our property is within walking distance of downtown while still in a quiet, natural setting of a golf course. Elk frequently pass thru our backyard to get to their favorite meeting spots on this golf course.

Cozy house within walking distance to Estes Park
We enjoyed our stay at Estes Park. The house was very comfortable for our family of five. The view from the kitchen/dining room was lovely and the house was conveniently located in a culdesac in a quiet neighborhood. We could easily walk to Estes Park to enjoy shopping and dining or drive to RMNP for a hike in the snow. For Christmas, we had relatives over for dinner. There were plenty of plates and silverware for entertaining.
My only concern was a lack of pantry items. Only salt and pepper were provided. We had to buy all new spices and basic cooking ingredients that are often left over for use at Home Away rentals. So if you don't want to cook, no worries. If you like to cook, bring your own basic ingredients. Also, bring or buy soap.
The home is very nice with great floor plan.
We enjoyed our time and the home is comfortable in a beautiful setting.
Had a great time at this house. We were there mid-Sept and there were elk all over (right in the backyard where we could safely observe from 2nd story deck)! Because of the elk (an annual thing) the course was closed. The Estes Park Golf Course is only a few miles away and very reasonable. House is very well laid out for 6 to 8 visitors. Very convenient to downtown where you don't want to have to drive if you can help it on a weekend. Overall a great place to stay.
Very nice and full of amenities
The home was spacious enough for family and friends.
A lovely home and a beautiful setting!
The house had everything we needed for our stay. It was very comfortable and accommodating! Thank you Paul and Joyce!
Great accommodations for 8.
Have made several trips to Estes Park but never stayed in a VRBO; it was very accommodating/plenty of room without bumping into each other/everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Right on the golf course; great view of the Stanley Hotel, geese, elk, and even a momma bear and her cub. Just a short drive into town. Near Safeway if groceries needed. We made use of the grill the first night and had breakfast at 'home'. Everyone enjoyed relaxing and having coffee on the deck. A few suggestions: like an earlier post I would recommend painting the deck and hosing down the cobwebs in the windows for better aesthetics. Also, easier access to extra towels, paper towels, toilet paper without contacting cleaning service. Very minor things compared to the joy we had as a family gathering to enjoy the beauty of Estes Park and RMNP. I would highly this home for your next family gathering in Estes Park.
Short walk (500 yards or less) to the Estes Park Visitors Center, Lake Estes walking trail, Elk Calving Area, Big Thompson River for fly fishing or the Club House for the 9 Hole Golf Course. Downtown restaurants and shopping less than a mile away. Rocky Mountain National Park entrance approximately 3 miles away.
