Why John Bertke chose Lakeside Estates
They say 'location' means everything. "Cedar Cove" cabin is 7 minutes from the city of Lafollette, 5 minutes from the main road, inside a gated community, nestled in trees, right on the water's edge.

Really nice place!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice accommodations. Very pretty and clean. Helpful manager. Thank you!
Stay, Surroundings, Climate all were Awesome!
This is one of the most memorable Holiday Gateway we had.
7 Families, 11 kids, we had blast!
Except that we have to carry our own soap-n-shampoo, everything else was neat and clean.
Very nice and spacious. Plenty of room for a big family!
The fire pit is a great addition and allows room for games and such before the stairs to the water!
We had an awesome time!
Cedar Grove was a huge hit for 25 of us to get together. We had 4 generations together for 5 days, 8 were under 10 years of age. The place was clean and it had lots to do for the children. 6 big TV's, some for games some for kids to watch their stuff, which made it good for the adults to be able to watch March Madness or whatever. Nice big kitchen so we could store our food and serve everyone. Stores nearby for getting things we forgot or could not transport. Wi-fi was okay, but lots of cell phones and ipads going on all the time. We were there in mid to late March, so the dock was not in place, too cold to swim. Lots to do around the area if you are the outdoorsy type. That was not really our focus, but available. Felt like the management team was really good, and available. Not sure we ever saw the trash pickup service. Being from Indiana, we had not travelled the roads like we did to get to Cedar Cove in quite a while. Beware of the last 5 miles, talk about over river and through the woods. The house had all that we needed, was the home base for wonderful family getaway. My parents are 91 & 92, the whole point was to be able to get everyone together so we could treasure our time with them. SUCCESS!
Stayed Feb. 10- 12. We had a party of 16 and this cabin had all the room you could possibly need! The kitchen is AWESOME!!! Hot tub great! No problem with water pressure or running out of hot water, now granted we didn't all run to take showers at the same time or back to back.... Had a fabulous time! Would definitely recommend this place! You will have a blast!!
We just returned from a week at the Cedar Cove home on Norris Lake. We had our family reunion at Cedar Cove from July 23 from July 30th. Below is my honest review:
First, the good:
1. Plenty of square footage with 9 bedrooms.
2. Great location on Norris Lake.
3. Convenient for water sports.
4. Hot tub was nice.
5. Double frig, dishwasher and stoves were nice for large group.
Now, the bad:
1. Water pressure was very low and hot water does not last long.
2. Air Conditioner would not cool the upper two floors enough during the day. Temps ran into the 80's inside the
3. You have a "daily allowance" of internet usage. When you use it up, you are shut down the rest of the day.
4. Multiple leaks in the lower floor ceiling coming through the sheet rock. Owner said it was the A/C draining and
that it would be fixed.
5. Downstairs toilet ran the entire week.
6. Absolutely no cell phone coverage (Verizon). It was not limited, there was none.
7. Stair repair on steps to lake done poorly with no rail on last portion of stairs to the lake. Not very safe.
At 7k for the week, the bad should not outweigh the good. The "daily allowance" for internet is just plain cheap as well as silly. We had family members driving into town to use the internet. Additionally, the water pressure and air conditioner need to be fixed as well at this price point. In summary, the bad issues listed above need to be fixed to justify the price of this rental.
Cedar Cove is located outside the charming towns of Lafollette and Jacksboro. Numerous grocery stores, restaurants, Walmart, drug stores, churches, hospital, etc ensure that anything you forgot is minutes away. This includes beer and liquor. Contact me for important boat rental info, restaurants, marinas, golf, fishing, sight seeing.....
