About Andrew or Darla McCrory
We are a small family that loves the area. We grew up on the Central Coast and always wanted to live up here...our dreams came true! We now have the opportunity to share it with everyone else. We live on site so and wake up every morning with gratitude, this place is truly a sight to be seen.
What makes this Lodge unique
This is a getaway...360 degree views of mountain and ocean says it all. The front of the property overlooks Morro Rock and the back is Avila Valley down into Pismo. It is such a unique location on a peak as it's equidistant to San Luis Obispo and Avila Beach. One side takes you to shopping and historic cites in downtown SLO, wine tasting and amazing restaurants, along with a weekly Thursday evening farmer's market and the other takes you to wineries, apple orchards, and ends at the Avila Beach with a seasonal Spring/Summer Friday afternoon farmer's market.

Fabulous place for our wedding!
The Barn was a fabulous place for our wedding. The hosts were kind, gracious and helpful every step of the way. The location and view were gorgeous. Setting everything up was easy with the kitchen, multiple decks and patios. We highly recommend this place for a wedding, party or a night away.
Wonderful relaxing setting
That view though
Great space, friendly owners, friendly chickens, freshly-laid eggs -- no complaints! Our two kids (8/6) were a little too young for the loft, but were fine sharing the sofa bed.
One thing I wish I'd been more clear on before I arrived, though: despite its physical proximity as the crow flies, the property is about a 25-minute drive from *anything* (either SLO to the east or Avila Beach to the south). This is not necessarily a problem -- it's a *gorgeous* drive, and ultimately just the price you pay if you want to get away from it all (and the views are 100% worth it!). But it does mean that you can't just pop down to the store for some milk, or dash back up to the house if you forget something at the beach. Just plan your day in advance & you're fine.
Loved this vacation gem
We loved this place. The accommodations were comfy and clean. The location was an adventure and the view was fantastic! Rustic yet had all the creature comforts we needed plus some.
We were very impressed with the views, accommodations, and service. Although the drive-up is a little challenging, the end result is so well worth it. The morning and evening scapes are awe-inspiring!! Darla is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. Fantastic!!! We'll definitely be back.
