Koe TRUE ALOHA tässä condossa, joka asui James MacArthur, alkuperäinen Danno of Hawaii Five-0, ja edelleen omistaa MacArthur perhe. Condo Association sääntöjen mukaan omistajan vuokrata vain yhdelle osapuolelle 30 päivän välein. Tämä ilta ominaisuus sijaitsee suoraan Honolulu kuuluisa Gold Coast. Waikiki on lyhyen kävelymatkan tiellä loputtomasti vaihtoehtoja fine dining, kaupat, rannat ja ihmisiä katsomassa. Myös kävelymatkan päässä on Honolulun eläintarha, Waikikin akvaario, Kapiolani Park, Diamond Head retkeilyreitit ja julkisen tenniskentät, vain muutamia mainitakseni.

Aloita iltaisin kylmän juoman kädessä, rentouttava olohuoneessa kuin aurinko laskeutuu yli Tyynenmeren, tai testata ruoanlaitto taitojaan yhteisö grilli sijaitsee 10. kerroksessa katolla. Incredible!

My husband, my son and myself stayed here for two weeks and the only negative thing I can say is that we couldn't stay forever! The location is ideal with easy access to everything and the astonishing view literally has to be seen to be believed. The amenities are lovely and the kitchen provides all the necessities. For those of us who loved Hawaii Five-0, the connection with "Danno" is very special and can be found nowhere else. Anyone staying here will not regret it. As for us going back again, all I can say is...Book me!

Excellent Value. We love Danno's Condo

We’ve been to Hawaii 5 times in the past 10 years. Danno’s Condo is by far our most favorite place to stay. The views from the condo are amazing…from the wide expanse of the Pacific Ocean to Waikiki Beach and downtown Honolulu. We love to walk for exercise. Located at the base of Diamond Head, we would head out of the condo and circumnavigate Diamond Head….exactly four miles. It is a beautiful walk. At the condo’s location you don’t have to navigate the onslaught of tourists that overwhelm the Waikiki Beach section of Honolulu. However, it is fun to walk from the condo through Waikiki Beach to go through the shops and International Market shopping mall. But it is definitely a major plus to come back to the condo in a very secure building and the peace and quiet this condo affords the lucky renter. We loved the king size bed…the most comfortable in any rental we’ve stayed in (beyond just in Hawaii). We cooked in the kitchen every night except two during the month of our stay. Having a washer and dryer allows the renters of Danno’s Condo to pack light for the trip. If your looking for an excellent value Danno’s condo is by far the best price for all of the amenities that come with it. We highly recommend that you stay here.

Absolutely paradise

Probably the best sleep I’ve ever had in my life. The property was better than advertised in all honesty. We would love to repeat this vacation, the owner and housekeeping was always responsive to our needs when necessary. You absolutely could not find a better or quieter location. The surrounding parks particularly Diamond Head, amazing. My family particularly felt extremely fortunate to have found this property.

Beautiful sunsets, great views of the Pacific

Quiet neighborhood, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Facing West you get awesome sunsets. The view from the 8th floor is spectacular. Security offers peace of mind when you are out seeing the sights of Oahu. The apartment offers tropical breezes throughout with open windows and the sliding glass doors facing West. Amenities are sufficient to dine in throughout your visit. Besides the gorgeous views with diamond head as a backdrop, the presentation and subtle mementos of James MacArthur aka "Danno," reminds the guest that the best of Hawaii 5-0 once lived here. It was a pleasure and honor to be invited to spend our time on Oahu at the residence of Danno and HB Mac Arthur. We look forward to our next visit here again.

Spacious, comfortable 2 bedroom condo with beautiful view

We thoroughly enjoyed our six weeks at Danno's on the Gold Coast at Waikiki. This spacious, comfortable condo was ideal for us, with our daughter and family living downstairs on the fifth floor, and we had room for our son and family to join us for 6 nights when they came on vacation. The sunset views were often spectacular. We made good use of the rooftop Traeger grill. Also, the guest membership at the Outrigger Canoe Club, which the owner provided us, was a terrific benefit of renting this condo. If we ever return to Waikiki again with family or friends, we would love to stay at Danno's again!

Aloha lives here all the time

This is my second trip back to Danno's and my second review. It has truly been my home away from home, and first and foremost, it feels like home. The couches, beds, chairs are inviting and comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. The owner is in the process of some upgrades, which only add to beautiful bones of this condo. It is tasteful without being "precious". Its location is unique: there are only a small number of buildings one can rent in on the gold coast. You are close to Waikiki, but a world away in temperament. One has both the ocean and Kapiolani Park at one's disposal. The apartment has lots of light, as well as views of the ocean from two sides. The beautiful sunsets are dead on. As I have mentioned in my previous post, one learns how to make use of the great ventilation and ceiling fans in order to take advantage of the trade winds. There is no air conditioning, as is true in many Hawaiian homes. I have not missed it the times I have lived at Danno's. The owner is the most gracious person, and truly appreciates sharing her home. She has a very subtle way of making you feel that it is your own home. The amazing Tina and colleagues make sure the home is clean and orderly. If something is broken or not working, please let the owner know. She is more than happy to try to make it right. The markets and farmer's markets are a short drive away , and if you enjoy walking, there are a number of places to eat up on Monsarrat Ave, including delicious prepared food at the Diamond Head Market and Grill. (you can drive there as well)

Hawaii Paradise

One cannot ask for a better location. At the very end of Kalakaua Ave you have a very peaceful location that is within walking distance to all the major highlights of Waikiki (approximately 30 minutes to the heart). The views from from the condo are nothing less than spectacular - be it watching the ocean change colors from hour to hour, surfers, sailboats, seals or the beautiful sunsets. One almost wants to stay in the condo and stare at the ocean instead of doing what needs to be done. The owner was always available, accommodating, gracious and easy to work with. The condo has everything one may possibly need and when we return to Hawaii, we hope to be able to stay here again. Aloha. PS. The parking is a bonus and a necessity if you have a car.

Bingo!

The area below Diamond Head has always spoken to me, close to the ocean and beautiful Kapiolani Park. Close enough to activity and yet a world away. The grandfathered buildings of the fifties and sixties have always intrigued me, and quite frankly, for me, this apartment is the best of the best, on the very quiet, final stretch of Kalakaua Ave. Even cab drivers said you are living on the best street in Honolulu. More than an apartment, this is truly a home that has been lived in. That means that you too can live and unwind here. The furniture is comfortable, the art is appealing, the kitchen is more than well equipped, washer and dryer, the desk has a stapler...small things that one wants during an extended stay are everywhere. And the gorgeous view: dead on for sunset, views of surfers and outrigger canoes. The apartment has the most beautiful light in every room, not always the case in this neighborhood. Depending upon the time of year, be aware, this is old school Hawaii. Instead of air conditioning, you use the mixture of windows on the lanai and ceiling fans to stay cool.The neighbors are friendly and helpful, and this unit really does have parking for 3 smaller cars, unbelievably convenient when having friends over for dinner. I wanted for nothing when staying here. The owner is the most gracious person, and in ways both small and large made it very clear that this was just not a vacation rental, that this was MY home while I lived there. I have never met her, but I consider her a friend, a friend who understands the joy in manifesting the aloha spirit. I am already plotting my return.

Excellent place, amazing views, wonderful owner

I stayed here as I am fortunate to be a family friend. This is an amazing place. Breathtaking views. Very comfortable. Quiet. Many creature comforts. A lot of security. Great location and good parking. I have stayed in many places on Oahu and this is my favorite. Owner is one of the nicest and most accommodating person you will deal with. Will return.

Living the Good Life

The best condo location in Hawaii! It is close to Waikiki yet tucked away in a quiet and historic neighbourhood beneath Diamond Head. You can easily walk to Waikiki beach, the aquarium and the zoo. If you have a car it is easy to head along the ocean highway to the other side of Oahu to Kailua and beyond. For lazier days you can enjoy fantastic views of Diamond Head, Kapiolahi Park, downtown, and of the ocean. Everyday you can sit in the living room and watch whales, sail boats, and surfers. While at night you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. If we moved to Hawaii this is where we'd like to live. Loved the building, the condo, and the neighbours are very friendly. It has become a home away from home.

View is amazing!!!

We loved our stay at Danno's. Very comfortable and lots of space and sitting looking at the ocean is so therapeutic. We saw whales, and surfers and sailboats and cruise ships. It is like a parade going on all day long. The neighborhood is very quiet and parking is very convenient if you rent a car. We ate at the condo most nights and the kitchen has everything you can imagine and a huge dining room table which was perfect for our family. Anyone would love their stay at Danno's.

I have never seen Heaven but Danno's Hawaii Five O Condo is a preview!

Home away from home is an understatement. We have stayed in over 30 different properties over the 20 years we have visited the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. But this warm, loving and beautiful home has stolen our hearts. I journaled each morning as I gazed at the beautiful white-capped waves of the ocean. The sound was melodic and so peaceful. We loved the roof top where we walked each day to experience the breathtaking views of Diamond Head up close and personal, downtown Waikiki, and the green belt over the pristine neighborhoods. The condo (Heaven on Earth) was equally amazing. Very quite and private. As a gourmet cook, I was amazed at all the kitchen tools and amenities. The layout is so smart as it provides a generous space for gatherings or quiet time. It is spacious and the decor is so elegant. The location is perfect with many activities in walking distance. The owner is so warm and delight to work with. I am so thankful to have found this beautiful home away from home.

Outstanding!

The moment that you open the door, you are struck by the beautiful view of the south pacific! Its hard to find the words to describe the beauty! The condo is absolutely fabulous, with all of the amenities of home right at your fingertips! The condo is within walking distance of Waikiki Beach, restaurants, & shopping galore! Unbelievable View!

Waking up to the sound of the ocean and seeing the blue water is breathtaking. It was really amazing to see how the colors of the water would change thru out the day. Danno's Hawaii Five-O condo is the perfect location to sit with a cold beverage and watch the sunset. No tourists standing in front of you trying to take a picture, no people bumping into you, no loud music or crowds, just the peaceful sound of the ocean waves as the sun goes down each night. This place is the perfect location for those that want to avoid all the masses in the hotel zone by Waikiki, but still be close enough to all the action that you can walk over there if you desire. This is a home away from home. I hope we can return for an even longer stay next time.

Fantastic Condo!

Everything about our stay in Danno's Hawaii Five-0 Condo was perfect! It has a great location with incredible views! The apartment was nicely appointed, comfortable and had all the amenities required for a perfect Oahu vacation. Secure and easily accessible parking in a lovely building. Fantastic views, my favorite location off the beaten path of Waikiki.

The entire condo is designed to maximize the views and we loved being able to see the ever-evolving ocean change daily (literally, we took photos daily of the various rainbows, sunsets, sailboats, etc.). And being just steps from the famous surfing beaches - my husband and I often felt we had our own private beach at our disposal! Lovely open floor plan, airy layout - and super helpful and responsive owner! We look forward to our next trip - this is a home away from home!

Location, location, location

Thi condo has an excellent location - 150 yards from surfing, the beach and a quiet green oasis. The property is well equiped with everything a family/ group of 4 may need during vacations. The views from all the windows, at all times of the day and night are spectacular and changing. The neighbours next door and other floors are friendly and helpfull. I would love to come back again! Great views, fantastic location.

This wonderfully located Diamond Head condo made for a perfect home-away-from-home while our Honolulu home was under renovation. It offered spectacular views in a quiet community that gave us easy access to Waikiki and Kahala. The open floor plan made it live much larger than the description would have you believe. It features ample parking, secure access and all the amenities of home. The owner was helpful, responsive and generous, and would we recommend this property to anyone seriously considering a long Waikiki stay.

Highly Recommended!

This beautiful property is located at the base of world-famous Diamond Head, a short walk to the night life and excitement of Waikiki, but far enough removed to be a pocket of serenity. Sit in this well-appointed residence, gently caressed by trade winds, and watch the sun set into the Pacific (and, perhaps, see the elusive green flash.) The words of Hawaiian Poet Laureate Don Blanding, in describing his 1920s home in old Waikiki , portray well the charms of "Danno's condo": The Southern Cross hangs over my door And the moon flings silver on the floor While the surf makes thunder along the beach And the rainbow's end is within my reach. We cannot wait to return for another visit.

A beautiful, relaxing condo with celebrity charm

The condo is a lovely place to stay in the area known as the Gold Coast. The photos don’t do it justice; it has celebrity charm! Obviously a home from time-to-time rather than just a rental property, it retains a feeling of comfort and elegance that most other apartments and hotels lack. We really enjoyed the peace in the building and local area - just the sound of waves, without the noise from nearby Waikiki. If you have a car you can easily get around Honolulu and base yourself there. We didn’t have transport but the bus stop wasn’t far away and walking not bad (which was much needed after the delicious carrot cake bread from the Outrigger Canoe Club just along the road). With full sun during the day it definitely benefits from opening the windows and keeping a breeze coming in and at night the wonderful glass wall opens up so you can get the full pleasure of your proximity to the ocean with amazing views, particularly at sunset although an air conditioner would certainly make things cooler. The roof top is really nice to relax on, read a book, work or just stare at Diamond Head, Waikiki and the ocean. Despite the age of the building itself, the condo is well presented, clean and tastefully decorated - definitely somewhere we would stay again. Home from home. Two thumbs up! Thanks to the owners.

Great location

This lovely 2 bedroom suite overlooks the ocean. It is a quiet building and there are 2 suites per floor. It has all the amenities one would find in a nice home.

I met my husband, James MacArthur, as the first LPGA teaching golf pro at Waialae Country Club when he came for a lesson. He even carried my bag in LPGA tour events. That's when I knew he'd "made the cut"! Soon our son was old enough to join us golfing throughout the Hawaiian islands and in far away countries. We also watched our son through binoculars grow up surfing the waves at Tongs from our condo livingroom. My husband died in 2010 leaving us many years of happy memories of good times shared in our beloved Hawaii.

The private, secure building with unparalleled views in a quiet, residential neighborhood provided easy access to the Hawaii Film Studios, home of Hawaii Five-0, and a short walk to Tongs, his favorite surf spot. Time spent here with family and close friends was always special. Over the years his love and respect for Hawaii, the land, the culture and, most importantly, the people, never waned. James was accepted by the locals as ohana...family...an honor he treasured deeply. He described this condo, this link to so much he cared about as, "The best investment I ever made."

The condo is an oasis overlooking the cosmopolitan hub of activity known as Waikiki. A quick glide down the elevator and you're out on the street, soaking up the surrounding beauty as you walk by Kapiolani Park and the enchanting Waikiki Aquarium on your way to a myriad of possible destinations. Wherever the day takes you, the road will eventually lead back to the peaceful haven from whence you began. The view of Waikiki at night is breathtaking, as is the looming presence of Diamond Head, but the darkness of the water, broken only by the lights of passing boats, is almost mesmerizing.
This quaint and friendly Gold Coast neighborhood sits comfortably on the edge of Waikiki, where the exciting pulse of Honolulu is both near and far at the same time. They say location is everything, and this can't get much better.
