At Sierra Springs, Lewis Creek sits right in the back yard of this newly remodeled 2000 square foot 4 bedroom 2.5 bath home. Panoramic views from the master bedroom, family room (upstairs) and 2 of the bedrooms and game room (downstairs) of this beautiful creek! Bedrooms are equipped with 1 King and 3 Queen size beds, 2 with memory foam for your comfort. The master bedroom has a 32 inch TV with DVD/VCR player. This home has 2 fireplaces with one gas upstairs and one electric down stairs. A large kitchen with all the amenities you need for preparing meals with a TV. The family room and game room are both equipped with 50" TV with an X box with games. and Foosball Table in the game room as well as cable, Internet and a large collection of movies. Also comes equipped with HE washer and dryer. There is a 52 foot long upper deck equipped with a BBQ and a picnic table and a lower deck for eating those meals outdoors or just relaxing as you listen to the sounds of the creek. Fishing poles and bait and tackle are provided for your use at one of the many lakes or in our own back yard. Heading to Yosemite for the day?
Within a 15-minute car ride from from our vacation rentals, you’ll arrive at the Yosemite’s South Gate Ranger Station. This is also home to Mariposa Grove, California’s Giant Redwood Trees, the oldest living things in the world. From here you can park at the shuttle bus parking area and catch a short two-mile shuttle ride to the grove. From Mariposa Grove heading further into the Park, you’ll arrive at Wawona Golf course the first regulation golf course in the Sierra Nevada that opened in 1918. If a round of golf isn’t on your agenda for the day, then head on to the incomparable Yosemite Valley, not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra, truly one of earths gems. First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.
But before you head down to the valley you may want to head up to Glacier Point on Glacier Point Road. At an elevation 7,200 feet at night you feel as though you can touch the stars, an amazing location to see the meteor showers! But during the day Glacier Points breathtaking views of Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Nevada and Vernal Falls will be with you in mind and spirit for the rest of your life.
Heading to Bass Lake for the day?
Just a 10 minute car ride in the other direction you’ll find Bass Lake, at an elevation of 3,415 feet, Bass Lake has all types of outdoor activities and amenities. Yosemite may have the Number 1 spot as most popular attractions; but Bass Lake stands firm as one of the most popular vacations spots a tourist can appreciate year round. Fishing, water boarding, camping and hiking are perpetual invitations to join the allure of sparkling waters, beautiful pines and the land's most majestic area's. Off the water, amazing hiking trails offer beautiful views of Bass Lake and the surrounding Sierra National Forest. For those who prefer to remain closer to civilization, there is shopping at the Pines Village and dining at excellent restaurants throughout the area. Bass Lake offers a beach and boat ramp. Popular activities include swimming, motorized boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, sailing and excellent fishing for bass, trout, bluegill and catfish. Nearby hiking trails include Willow Creek (2.7 miles), Goat Mountain (2.6 miles), Spring Cove (2.6 miles) and Way-of-the-Mono Interpretive Trail (1 mile).
