Welcome to your home away from home in one of Vancouver's most pleasant areas: Kitsilano. Known colloquially as "Kits", the neighborhood is named after Squamish chief August Jack Khatsahlano and belonged to the Squamish First Nation until 1946. It is relaxed, safe, friendly and very walkable close to downtown and beaches. Formerly a Greek neighbourhood it has retained much of its European feel, especially on Broadway with great restaurants, cafes and organic food stores. You are also a few blocks from plenty of retail, on Broadway as well as trendy 4th avenue, ranging from outdoor equipment to high end fashion.

Relax with a glass of wine on your patio in our beautiful secluded garden, which has a BBQ for your use. If you have children they can freely play in the safety of a fully fenced and child friendly garden. Enter through the French doors into the well designed living area with its big and comfortable sofa, where you can read a good book or watch a show or movie on the flat screen TV. For cooking there is a brand new kitchen with dishwasher, and restaurant grade gas stove. If you don't feel like cooking, Vancouver also happens to be well-known for its great restaurants. Within a walking distance of a few blocks you have a large selection of restaurants, deli's and neighbourhood bars, or why not take a short busride/drive to downtown or the eccentric Commercial Drive.

The master bedroom with a queen bed is conveniently separated from the 2nd bedroom with two beds. An additional bed is also available in the third bedroom. The new bathroom has a bathtub with shower and large sink. The separate laundry room has a new large washer/dryer.

Many guests appreciate the excellent quality of the amenities provided, such as high quality kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery, pots and pans, basic grocery staples (such as olive oil, tea, sugar), good linens, towels, iron/ironing board, etc.

For those visiting family or friends you are free to bring them over to enjoy a barbeque, knowing there is plenty of room, inside and outdoors, to entertain them and enjoy the beautiful Vancouver summer.

We are a professional couple who enjoy our eclectic neighbourhood, walks on the beach, swimming in Kits pool and time in the beautiful outdoors. We enjoy socializing with our adult children, love traveling and visit family in Europe each year.

We have just taken over this beautiful vacation rental that the former owners have been running for almost a decade. Our goal is to continue to deliver the same excellent experience to our guests that the Heart of Kitsilano is known for. Kitsilano is close to everything while maintaining a true neighbourhood feel. Guests frequently comment on its proximity to everything and the large number of activities and attractions accessible to them during their stay. There are also great restaurants and theatres close by. It is a walking or cycling city, so a car is not necessary.

What makes this house unique

Location, location, location. Relaxed neighbourhood, safe for strolling. Wonderful gardens and coffee shops everywhere. Beautiful beaches within walking distance. Friendly neighbours and lots to do. Our personal favourite is walking the beach early mornings or late at night.

Felt like a home we could live in! Lovely Location

As lovely a place as the pictures detail. Plenty of room and amenities to host friends. A home-away-from-home you will be proud to show off. We traveled to Vancouver from Chicago to celebrate Thanksgiving with our son and his UBC mates. We walked everywhere! This home is located blocks away from some great eating and shopping spots, not to mention a block or two from some stunning views! We were sad to have to leave a place we made home for 5 days. SUPER clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. You will have absolutely everything you could possibly need. Can't wait to come back.

Loved it so much I may move there

Visited with a few girlfriends from Ontario. The place was very clean and Ian was wonderful and accommodating. The house is adorable and very spacious. The location is wonderful as well, we did a lot of walking. Would definitely recommend this homeaway to friends and family. Loved my stay here so much I'm working out trying to move to Vancouver. Thanks Ian!

Would stay here again!

Our vacation in Vancouver was primarily to get our daughter settled to begin her master's degree at UBC. It was ideally located for getting back and forth to UBC and downtown. We enjoyed a short walk (about 10min) to get to English bay and to walk along the bay to Kitsilano Beach and beyond. We had most of the amenities, lovely for a family BBQ! Ian was welcoming and friendly. The size of the rental easily accommodated our group. My husband loves to cook and he found that he struggled with the kitchen knives - a bit dull. The apartment was a bit humid and given the climate in Vancouver, a dehumidifier might have been beneficial.

Lovely location

We would recommend staying in Kitsilano when visiting Vancouver. It was great to be out of the city centre, but within easy walking distance (30 minutes stroll along waterfront to False Creek Ferry, beach and enormous outdoor heated swimming pool). Alternatively you could catch the bus into downtown - the stop is only two blocks away. The neighbourhood was friendly, quiet and very pleasant to walk around. The shops are close by, the apartment is very comfortable and the owners are there when you need them. We would be happy to stay here again.

A relaxing base to return to after seeing the sights of Vancouver.

We had a fantastic time staying at this beautiful apartment. It was very well located to use public transport and walk to the beaches, parks, sea wall and Granville Island. As a family of four adults and one teenager we found it very comfortable with plenty of space, it was very clean and up to date. The owners were on hand every day if we had any questions, and had been very quick to respond to emails prior to the stay. If we came back to Vancouver we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Only 2 blocks from a vibrant neighbourhood high street and 10 minutes from downtown theatres, museums, and shops. There are 3 large sandy beaches and a sailing centre only a 15 minute walk away. A bike friendly city with extensive bike transportation lanes, as well as beautiful parks (especially Stanley Park), and gardens. Local mountains provide winter skiing and summer hiking. Spectacular views of city and mountains are free.
