This cabin set in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado provides easy access to everything the mountains offers. For our stay in the summer, we opened the windows at night for great sleeping. With a fire in the fire pit in the chilly evenings and mornings, what a way to get away from the summer heat of the lowlands! Our 3 grandkids loved sleeping in the separate beds in the loft. The spacious living room offers room for a large family if the weather turns rainy. The owner helped us in many ways, contacting us to help us locate the cabin, gain entry, and answer questions after we were in the cabin. We hope to come back!
David, we are so grateful for this positive review. Please come back!

It’s the cabin all other cabins aspire to be...
I remember standing at an 11,000 foot perch looking down on the lake, and thinking I was in a dream. Once I made it down from the mountain and spotted the cabin, I thought I was in a dream. Once I opened the cabin, and surveyed what would be my home for the next 3 days, I thought I was in a dream. I’m almost inclined to write a negative review just because I don’t want others to encroach on my dream, but that would be unethical. However I will tell you this, if you go and don’t feel the same way I did, then you’re doing it all wrong. No regrets.
Wow Brian, we are so grateful for this amazing review! Please come back. —Don and Cindy
We had such a great time here! The owners were very helpful and gave us great suggestions for thing to do while in town! This house was everything we needed and more! Will definitely be back!
Thanks so much Kailey. We look forward to hosting you again soon!
Too much price for mice
Location and description were as posted. We enjoyed the property outside and views. There was an issue with the fridge, promptly taken care of. The other issue we had was mice. Every time it was quiet in the house you could here mice running across the ceiling wood in’s is the floor for 2nd story. I let the owners know after our 1st night of hearing mice off and on all night. No reply! I again got back to them a day later and asked about traps. They had some, I set them and killed 5. Numerous more are still there...verified again by the running around in the 2nd story floor throughout the night. When you pay this amount of money you shouldn’t be bothered with rodents, or have to set traps. Very disappointed with that aspect. We were the laugh of our group because of what we spent & dealing with mice keeping us awake. Let me be clear that not one single food item was torn into by mice, no bags chewed or whatever. We kept the place clean, emptied trash (4) times in 7 days.
Not happy at all about that issue.
Saying that...IF somehow the rodent issue could be remedied, this is a nice place...now it’s a mice place. I hear mice in the walls as I type this😡
What a view!
Loved it! Will be back!

Why Don and Cindy DeLoach chose Lake City
The DeLoach Cabin is a step back in time with a firm foot in the present. Steeped in mountain lodge character that predates modern, cookie-cutter rental homes, our cabin combines the best of modern roominess and convenience with rustic features. We've stayed in many older cabins in Lake City and none have this combination of location, roominess and authentic character.
What makes this Cabin unique
Ideally located just 100 feet from Lake San Cristobal and 1/3 mile from the Alpine Loop Scenic byway, Lakeview Estates is covenanted community that is unusually quiet and peaceful. Its just a three-mile drive or bike on paved roads to shops and restaurants in the town of Lake City, an internationally famous Historic District. Our cabin epitomizes the idyllic family vacation in the most remote and beautiful county in the lower 48.
