If you want the 'ultimate' Vancouver experience you’ll love staying in our beautifully decorated and renovated, 1,345 square foot, 2 storey house that sleeps 6 and is located in Kitsilano, one of the most exclusive and sought after neighbourhoods in Vancouver – and close to everything - including 5 beaches!

Our home has a nice balance of modern furnishings and upgrades throughout, while still retaining the charm of original 1920s architectural details and hardwood floors. On the main floor the living room has a 50” internet-enabled smart TV and wifi, with a pullout queen sofabed, a loveseat, and a separate dining room with expandable table. The kitchen has an electric stove, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, coffee maker, and everything you need to cook at home. There's a private washer and dryer in the porch alcove. The main floor also has one bedroom (with a king-sized bed, two night stands and closet) and a full bathroom with tub/shower. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (both with queen beds and daybeds, night stands and closets), and a bathroom with shower. All beds are Hilton-hotel-quality with top-of-the-line sheets, cozy down-filled duvets, and both down pillows and polyfill pillows.

The backyard is private with 15 foot hedges and has a BBQ and two bicycles for your use. A garden suite that sleeps 6 is also available to rent (for extra) if you’re staying with a larger group or grown kids. We may also have other guests staying in it.

Our location is SUPERB, situated on the ‘golden mile’, along the posh, exclusive Point Grey Road. You’re in walking distance, or a short 10 minute car ride, to 5 beaches, great restaurants, several shopping districts, downtown and Robson Street, the university, Granville Island, English Bay, the University of British Columbia and more. Point Grey Road is restricted to residential traffic only so the neighbourhood is quiet, safe, and a favorite of joggers, bikers, and families out for a walk, and there’s lots of free street parking in front of our house. If you’re staying with kids, there are two small neighbourhood parks literally steps away, one with a play set.

Coming for the beach experience? Across the street (and next to the most expensive home in British Columbia – a $75 million dollar mansion owned by the founder of Lululemon) is access to a neighbourhood rocky beach with a fabulous view of the ocean, ships in the harbour, the sunset and the North Shore mountains. If you want sandy beaches and to sunbathe, hang out with the younger crowd, swim laps or let the kids splash in a wading pool, walk 10 minutes to the famous Kits Beach, the home of the Celebration of Lights fireworks competition every July and August. If you want to rent a sailboat, ocean kayak, paddleboard or skimboard…you’re a 10 minute walk to Jericho Beach. If you prefer volleyball, beach barbeques, long walks, jogging, or watching spectacular sunsets and dogs frolicking in the surf, then walk a few minutes past Jericho and Locarno beaches to the famous Spanish Banks beach. Wreck Beach for nudists is a 15 minute drive.

Like shopping? You’re close to lots! We love walking to the world famous tourist mecca of Granville Island Market for our fresh produce and baked goods, artisan crafts or to take in live theater or eat at the Sandbar or Bridges restaurants. From our door it’s just a 3 minute walk to the trendy West 4th Avenue, where you can shop at the IGA for groceries, feast at Vancouver’s most well known vegetarian spot the Naam, or walk 5 minutes up the hill to the trendier shops like Whole Foods, Lululemon, the North Face, Hip Baby, Spa on the Rocks and more. Broadway is just a 6 minute walk with LOTS of interesting shops for old and young, markets and restaurants. Hop on the bus and in about 10 minutes you’ll be downtown where you can shop the famous Robson Street, the Bay, Holt Renfrew, Pacific Centre, or Nordstroms. Or take the bus to South Granville, another great place to shop and check out the art galleries.

Are you a foodie? There are TONS of great restaurants, ethnic eateries, organic cafes and fresh food stores within walking distance - on West 4th, Broadway, and Cornwall (along Kits Beach). For beach and sunset views eat at the Boathouse Restaurant on Kits Beach or for more of a 'dive' experience head to the Gallery Patio and Grill at Jericho. A 3 minute walk will get you to your morning latte at Starbucks or Artistry Cafe.

Relying on the bus? There are bus stops within a 3 minute walk that will get you to a skytrain station, downtown, to shopping, or to the university. Vancouver has a great transit system with a skytrain that goes to Burnaby, Surrey, New Westminster and the airport.

Hi. I'm Vancouver born and raised and grew up in Kits. I have great memories of spending time at the pool at Kits Beach, walking in wet sand when the tide was out at Spanish Banks, hiking through Pacific Spirit park near UBC, and going to the funky shops along West 4th.

Vancouver is a great city. I live here, I work here, I love it here! I know you will too.

Why Leslie chose Vancouver

Kitsilano is a fabulous neighbourhood and one of the most sought after in Vancouver. It`s rich, its trendy, its new age, its eclectic, its old, its modern. There are some beautiful old 1920 homes, plus lovely modern west coast ones. Many of the streets are lined with breathtakingly beautiful cherry blossom trees in the spring, huge majestic chestnut trees in the summer and part of West 10th has elms which form a magical arch along the road, which only adds to the beauty of the area. There are some breathtaking views of both mountains and oceans to remind me why Vancouver is one of the most liveable cities in the world.

What makes this house unique

This house, in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Vancouver, is great for families with children, and for executives who need to be close to downtown but don't want the concrete and noise. You're close to beaches (where you can rent equipment for ocean activities), shops, downtown, Granville Island, the University of British Columbia and to transit which will take you anywhere in the city. The house is located on a private street, restricted to resident vehicles only, so its quiet, and safe, yet literally steps away from the Pacific Ocean.

If you are looking for a place for a larger party, there is a separate garden suite which sleeps six which may also be available.

The front door has an easy to remember personalized digital code, so there's no need to pick up or return keys during your stay.

If the garden suite has guests during your stay... .....they`ll use their own private entrance in the backyard, and their own washer/dryer. ......You`ll share the backyard, BBQ and bikes. .... please remove your shoes at the door, and keep music, TV, noise to reasonable levels. We`ll ask them to give you the same courtesy. Out of respect for our lovely neighbours, parties are not allowed, and quiet time outside in the backyard or porches is from 10pm to 8am. No tents in the backyards, or parking cars or RVs on the lawn. Feel free to use the umbrella, bikes, flashlights, a Vancouver guide and map during your visit. Please return them before checking out. Before checking out, please tidy up, put all used towels in the bathtub or shower, load and start the dishwasher with any dirty dishes, put garbage in the trash bin in backyard, and put recyclables in the porch recycling bins. Most of all, enjoy yourselves. Vancouver is a fabulous place to visit.

Cons: no ac though material indicates there is , smell of cat urine in one bedroom, beach by house is not swimming beach

Everything we needed for a family celebrating a 90th birthday!

Well appointed home that slept all 9 of us comfortably. Convenient parking in front for a couple of cars. About 20 min walk to beaches - plan so at beaches when tide is in. Lots of good restaurants within a 15-20 min walk.

Great place in a vibrant neighborhood.

The house was perfect for our family. We rented both the house and the garden suite for our family of 10 coming to Vancouver for our grandson's wedding. We were able to host an informal BBQ so that our family from Ontario could meet the bride's family as well as the wedding party. The backyard was perfect. Dining room saw our family sitting for several breakfast meals. We enjoyed Kits Beach where Vancouver Water Adventures has their kayak and standup board rentals, Gastown, Granville Island, and SHipyard market, botanical gardens. SOOO much to do. IT WAS GREAT.

A guest must be 25 years of age or older to reserve a stay in our home. Children are welcome providing a parent or guardian is 25 years or older and also staying on the property.
We recommend you have our housekeeper clean the home once per month. We can arrange this for you. She charges $25/hour
The owner and property managers are not liable for any accidents, injuries, illnesses or loss of personal belongings or valuables incurred by you or your guests while staying on the property.
We also request a contact address and phone number of the guest booking and confirmation of how many guests will be staying.
Bring your own beach towels and beach blankets if you`re coming during the summer.
Recycling and composting is mandatory. It's the law in Vancouver. You must comply. If you don't, and especially if we have to resort your refuse for you or at the end of the stay, you may forfeit all or some of your damage deposit.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
