Cape San Blas stole our hearts

We had a great time at Cape San Blas, Al was so gracious and kind and gave us so many suggestions and options. I wish we had more time to try everything on the list. The place was great and fit all of us comfortably. The house had everything we needed and the place was clean when we arrived. We enjoyed the patio area and we had a great time at the beach. We will definitely be staying here again.

Amazing week at Cape

We've been to Cape several times but first time staying at Home by the Sea. Al and Susan were great to deal with. Their home was very clean, spacious and had up-to-date furnishings. The master bedroom has it's own deck that has a view of the ocean. The (2) bicycles were nice to have for short rides to Scallop Cove or the Trading Post. I would highly recommend staying at Home by the Sea. We will definitely return in the future!!

Our choice at the beach, time and time again!

We have chosen Home By the Sea at least 8 times over the past 9 years. We love the location of the house. We are just a few steps from the beach, and very close to Scallop Cove convenience store for a quick ice cream. We feel like we are at home when we stay. The beds and bedding are wonderful, and the kitchen has everything we need to fix a quick snack, or if we decide to cook a complete meal. We will often sit on the screen porch in the morning or late in the evening. We use the bikes that are available to us, and often the beach chairs and umbrellas. It is nice to know you don't have to pack as much as you might somewhere else. The owner does a great job of staying on top of what might need replacing or repairing. Updated flooring, new refrigerator, new TV and weather monitor... Owner also give great tips on local events, restaurants and sightseeing. Can not say enough good things about this rental!

We had a fabulous stay at the Home By The Sea! The proximity to the beach was fantastic, especially with little ones. Al is excellent with communication and answers texts and calls promptly. He also calls far in advance as well as close to arrival go ensure you know and have everything you need. The house is very charming and clean and has all that you need for the best vacation ever! We will be back!

Great location

The house is truly just steps to the beach. We found everything to be extremely clean and comfortable during our stay. Our family enjoyed going to the beach and sitting on the porch enjoying the view of the ocean and the sound of the waves. The owners make sure you have everything you need and know what there is to do in the area.

Steps from Paradise!

We had a blast at this vacation home at Cape San Blas! Our only downside was that we didn't know it was a duplex until we arrived. However, it wasn't an issue as no one else was on the other side. Al and Susan were awesome hosts and provided an abundance of information and even had beach gear ready for use when we arrived. Thanks for a wonderful week!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on Cape San Blas! The property was in a perfect location: just a few steps to water’s edge and near two convenience stores! We loved the screened porch in the evenings. Quiet neighborhood! It fit our needs perfectly!! We’ll definitely be back!!

Great Visit

My wife and I spent Easter 2021 week (27 Mar - 3 Apr) at Home By The Sea. This was our first visit to Cape San Blas and decided to come because we love beaches and loved them them here. Home by the Sea is just a short walk to the beach which was never crowded. Al and Susan have kept their town home well maintained and stocked for any and all needs. We especially liked the picnic table on the screened-in porch for lunches and dinners. During the week of our visit an unseasonably windy, cool weather front moved in from the Northwest into the Southeast. Although sunny it made for a difficult beach day. The upstairs deck, which is off of the master bedroom, provided a solution for us. We were able to sit on the chaise lounges sheltered from the wind. Al is a congenial and accommodating host. He gave us loads of helpful information on places to see and eat. We enjoyed exploring his recommendations in Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. Home By The Sea is conveniently situated between two convenience stores, Scallop Cove and Trading Post, where Weber's Donuts (get there early) and an ice cream shop (go there often) are located. And they are walkable. Overall, we had a wonderful and enjoyable stay at Home By The Sea and Cape San Blas.

Peaceful beautiful getaway

Such a great property- essentially just steps to the beach and fantastic screened porch. Balcony off master with ocean views. Well-appointed kitchen with very nice pots/pants and super sharp knife. Beds were comfy- everything very clean. Sliding patio doors and screens in excellent condition. Decor is fun, nautical ocean themes. Beach and cape are beautiful. Bike, kayak, paddle board, Wade in the bay at the state park. Great local food.

Quintessential Beach House!!!

We just left after a week long stay with our family of four. All I can say is wow! Everything was incredible and you can not get a better location. We spent everyday at the beach and would grill dinners at the house at night. The kids loved the swing and the screened in pourch is perfect for late night card games. The home itself is exactly what you’d hope a beach house would be. Al - the home owner went above and beyond during our visit to ensure that we had everything we needed for our stay. He also provided a ton of information on local restaurants and sights. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone looking to relax and escape.

Perfect beach get away and perfect house!

Do yourself a favor and pick this house! We just left the Cape and this place did not disappoint. Mr. Al & Mrs.Susan really thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. All you really have to do is pack your clothes and sunscreen and head to the Cape . This is the best location. You are steps to the beach and anything you may need or want from the stores are in walking distance. The house has bikes, chairs, sand toys, and really everything! We had 4 adults and a 4 year old child and it was plenty of room and definitely child friendly. Our child did not want to leave he cried when it was time to pack up and go home. He said he didn't want to leave his beach house. If you have any questions or want any tips Mr. Al is readily available to help. From fishing tips to dining out he was spot on. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We hope to be back soon!

Perfect Choice!

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and Al's place was the perfect choice for us! This rental is spacious, clean, well stocked and conveniently located to the beach....literally a short 1-2 minute walk from the home. We explored the area a fair bit, took long walks on the beach at least twice daily, used the bikes provided on the nearby bike trail, had fires on the beach....just a lovely, relaxing vacation! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental to family and friends. Al was super easy to work with and very accommodating. You can't go wrong with this property, we hope to go back ourselves someday!

Home By the Sea - Our Favorite

This was our third trip to the Cape and our second stay at the Kite's home. The location is great and your just steps away from the beach. We also love staying here because Al goes above and beyond making sure we have everything we need. The home is clean and well maintained with upgrades throughout. It will be hard to consider ever staying any place else!

Wonderful Stay at Home By the Sea

We have been visiting CSB since 2005 and have stayed at many homes including another home in the Barefoot Trace neighborhood, some better then others and this one definitely was one of the better ones . The area is very quiet without a ton of houses nearby so the beach isn't very crowded. It is also located close to Scallop Cove and The Trading Post if you need to pick something up from the store but I suggest stopping in Port St. Joe at Piggly Wiggly for groceries before heading to the Cape. The walk to the beach is not that far and the owners provide lots of extras for you to use. Their housekeeper does a fantastic job and the house was very clean. We had 5 staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. My teenager slept on the fold out couch and my 10yr old daughter slept on the rollaway bed neither had a complaint about them. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with a nice jet tub and shower. My MIL stayed in the other room and she also said her bed was very comfortable. They have done a lot of upgrades in the home and I was very pleased with the nice appliances in the kitchen. The owner is very nice and will give you lots of great info if this is your first time staying on the Cape. I recommend Shoobies for soft serve ice cream or Italian ice and Trading Post for ice cream in many flavors! Indian Pass Raw bar for oysters or shrimp or if you want to travel into Apalachicola Up the Creek is a great place to eat. Joe Mama's Pizza in Port St. Joe is the best pizza place if you want a break from seafood while there. I would definitely recommend Home By the Sea to friends and plan on staying here again on our next trip to our favorite place in the sand!

Great home on the Cape!

We looked in the Barefoot Trace neighborhood because we had stayed at other rentals in the past. Home by the Sea was wonderful, convenience to the store and close proximity to the beach is great. Everything you need is provided in this rental and Al was great to work with. Especially love the screened porch in the mornings and evenings. Beds were comfortable and deck off the master is great for star gazing. We really made use of the outdoor shower when coming up from the beach. Cannot wait for our next trip to the Cape and Home by the Sea will be at the top of the list.

Lovely and comfortable home in a great location!

We just left Home by the Sea this morning and were sad to leave. We loved Cape San Blas; the beach was really nice and not crowded at all. The house is very close to the beach! A two minute walk and you're down on the sand. The house is comfortable and we enjoyed the cute decorative touches. The beds were amazing! Very comfortable with nice soft linens. The king beds were so big that my three girls ( 17, 12, and 9) shared one so we didn't try out the sofa bed. Make sure to take all supplies with you. There were no paper towels, garbage bags, etc. Only a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Also I'd research a type of bug spray for biting gnats! Off didn't do the trick and at dusk those little pests were awful. They aren't down on the beach but only near the houses. We loved dinner at the picnic table on the screened porch, with the view of the ocean and sound of waves crashing. Also the nice tv and sound system for family movie night. We don't hesitate to recommend this home for families or friends who want to reconnect in a peaceful beach setting. House was very clean and we hope we can return one day! Mr. Kite was very easy to contact and to work with!

OverDue Get Away

Home By The Sea is an outstanding place to get away from it all. Al and Susan Kite make this an outstanding get away,from contacting them, to the reservations,to any questions you may have,Al is there to help in any way he can. Home By The Sea is very clean and very well maintained,all the luxuries of home. My wife is a surgical nurse and rarely gets any time off from her very hectic job,but from now on we have a place to get her some relaxation,The Kite's Home By The Sea. The price of Home By The Sea is very affordable and we plan on returning very soon. Again I say thank you, Al and Suasn Kite for allowing us the use of your Home By The Sea.

Our subdivision is on an elevated potion of the Cape that has always had abundant beachfront . The sea oats, dunes, and deeded private boardwalk make an easy access to the beach. An upscale convenience store that carries everything is a short walk.

What makes this property unique

Our unit is located in a small subdivision and is less than 100ft to the beach with great views. We offer lots of upgrades and the King pillow top beds are awesome! We try to provide you with everything you need for an excellent vacation value.
