Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bath with Creek

Secluded 3 bedroom 2 bathroom 2 story frame house with knotty pine siding throughout on 3 wooded acres with a small creek. Access to the home is via a very level gravel drive and no four wheel or all wheel drive is necessary. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed, dresser and walk-in closet. There's also an open concept kitchen living area plus a large 2nd story loft with a TV/DVD player for family movie or game night plus two twin beds for kids. The two bathrooms feature walk-in slate showers, double hammered copper sinks and a comfortable soaking tub upstairs with a view of the treetops. Outside you can enjoy a huge front deck, two fire pits, hammocks, charcoal grill and two dining areas. The property has NO Land Line Phone, Internet or Cable TV service (though many cell services work on property) so this is the spot to get away from it all.

Our home is located off of a quiet country road yet within 15 minutes of historic downtown Dahlonega offering many restaurant choices and close to 7 beautiful wineries (Wolf Mountain - 9 Min; Cavendar Creek - 11 Min; Frogtown - 15 Min; Three Sisters- 15 Min; Kaya - 15 Min.; The Cottage -18 Min & Montaluce - 20 Min). We are also very close to popular wedding venues (Juliette Chapel - 22 Min; White Oaks Barn - 6 Min & Castle - 12 Min), gold/gem mines, waterfalls, hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail), fishing areas, and many popular scenic bicycle/ motorcycle roads (East Coast heaven). Motorcyclists: Very close to SR 60, SR 180, Richard Russell, several local twisty loops & a few hours ride from Deals Gap & Cherohala Skyway.

Notes:
Just a Reminder that we are a get away from it all setting with NO WiFi or Cable. This is not the place to spend time looking at screens. Our property is in the forest and Verizon and AT&T cell service is quite good but we've been told T-Mobile and Sprint service is spotty at best. May need to drive about 5 minutes closer to town to get better service with some providers.

Family Retreat for a Weekend Wedding

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly what I needed for my collection of family over the weekend when my daughter got married at nearby Neverland Farms. The children were kept entertained with movies and games provided, and the adults enjoyed the woodsy retreat and well-appointed cabin. Rustic, but everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

TWICE IN ONE YEAR!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd visit to this cabin this year. It has become our new favorite spot. Accommodations were perfect...again. We visited state parks and several wineries and the location of the cabin is convenient to all. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

This cabin in the woods is absolutely beautiful with plenty of linens, towels and cookware. The only reason I mention this is because at past rentals, we have had to find a Walmart to buy extras which can end up being pricey. Loved that there was a washer and dryer on site, even so, there are plenty of towels and linens available for use. We travel to GA. every summer for vacation & there is nothing worse than being given four towels to last a family of three for an entire week. The house is large and has all the comforts of home with the exception of internet, cable and a landline. Since we are on vacation, the lack of cable doesn't affect us, however, a landline would be useful, especially in the case of an emergency. If you have car trouble, there is no way to contact anyone. Internet would be helpful as well because in order to plan any activities, we had to drive down the road (between 6-7 miles) to get an internet connection. This was the only downfall. Otherwise, the property was beautiful and the house was very comfortable.

Exceeded Our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. It is well appointed and comfortable, the cleanest property we've seen to date, and we loved the secluded location. We purposely try to make our family vacation a time to unwind with no set schedule, get away from people, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Our teen/preteen boys love to explore the woods, creeks, etc. Therefore, this place was a perfect match for us. For the times we needed to run into town, it's not that far away. The hammocks are great! We also enjoyed watching movies at night. If we find ourselves in the area again, this house is our top choice.

AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

This place is fabulous! It was very clean and comfortable, surpassed all my expectations! Great location to go on winery tour or stay if you have an event at one of them. It was very private and quiet, except for the babbling brook running through, great atmosphere. Just one thing to improve would be to have a covered outside sitting area, love sitting outside when it's raining. I bet the firepit is great when it gets chilly. I would definitely like to return sometime.

Quiet, Comfortable Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I chose this cabin as our retreat spot during our son's orientation at UNG. We had a wonderful, albeit too short, mini retreat. The cabin is very nice, clean, and well appointed. It is the most secluded of the many cabins that we have rented in the past. Though not far off of the beaten path, you truly will feel alone in the woods - in a good way. I was also surprised at the many things to do in Dahlonega and the surrounding area. I wish we had more time to explore the area. We will definitely plan to come back. The owners of this property clearly have the gift of hospitality, and you will find everything that you need for your stay. I certainly recommend it for an escape from our too "connected" culture. Be aware, that there is no cable or wi-fi, and cell service is spotty. This worked just fine for us.

There is a very nice collection of DVD movies, as well as books and board games. You can also just sit peacefully outside and listen to nature. We look forward to a return trip soon.
