About Trisha Taylor
We built this house after we fell in love with the town of Creede. It is a great place to relax or enjoy outdoor activities. We live in the Houston area and come to Creede as often as possible. Creede is the best place to be in the summer and if you love skiing Wolf Creek Ski resort is about 45 minutes away
Trisha Taylor purchased this House in 2006
Why Trisha Taylor chose Creede
We love the mountains so after coming to Creede every summer for 5 years we began looking to buy some land to build a cabin. We love sharing this beautiful property with family and friends
What makes this House unique
This house has the best view from the den or sitting out on the deck. You can see deer and other wildlife walking in the woods and road most mornings and evenings. If you love the mountains and outdoors this place is calling your name! Do you love hiking? Plenty of great hiking, biking or 4 wheeling here on the Bachelor loop. Exploring the old mines is so much fun. Visit the mining museum in town or shop on Main Street

Very nice cabin, highly recommend
My family stayed here 6 days over the NY holiday and had great time. The cabin is very nice, has spectacular views, and is well managed. It sits about 1000 ft above and overlooking the town of Creede. Sun rises are incredible. We skied Wolf Creek four days and had snow mobiles delivered to the cabin for one day. There are USFS trails a few hundred yards from the cabin. The management company is very responsive and helpful. Only thing to be aware of is that the road leading to the cabin is posted 4WD or chains only in the winter. If I ever go back to Creede, I would not hesitate to book the same cabin.
We have admired this house and its location since our first trip to Creede, seven years ago. This year we finally got a chance to book it and we were very pleased. You'll have an unmatched view from the giant deck, sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. The house has three, nice sized bedrooms, along with an additional loft bed that shares a bathroom with the upstairs bedroom. Plenty of seating in the living room and large dining area. Well stocked kitchen and everything was super clean. Trisha is great to work with and communicated with us very well. We definitely would recommend this property to Creede visitors.
So glad y'all enjoyed your visit to our paradise in the mountains! Creede is a great place to come and enjoy nature and outdoors. We hope you come back in the future!
Amazing Home, Amazing View
We've been vacationing in Creede for more than 10 years now, and have stayed in many rentals over the years. By far, we enjoyed staying here more than anywhere else. The home is beautiful and the view is amazing! We love that we can ride our ATV's from the house. We hope to be able to rent this home again this year!
A slice of heaven on top of Creede
We stayed here last summer for the July 4th holiday and could not have had a better time!! (so sorry, I totally forgot to review timely!) My family has vacationed in Creede for 20+ years, and each time we can't wait to get there. Creede sits in the middle of an incredible part of God's country - each turn brings something new and beautiful to see - and this home sits on top of it all. The house sits about 1,000 feet above town (well over 10,000 ft), so if you have issues with high altitudes you need to be prepared. The views from the deck are spectacular - everyone's favorite part of the day was morning coffee on the deck, watching the fog clear from the valley. The house itself was pretty spectacular - huge living and dining area on the "main" level, with bed- and bathrooms on the bottom, second and third floors. Kitchen was well stocked with pots & pans - you need to bring your own paper goods (towels, plates, toilet paper, etc) as there's just a "starter" quantity. There was no outdoor grill when we got there - we made one call to Trisha and a brand new one was there when we got home that afternoon. I can't say enough good things about the house AND the management team - both will blow you away! We brought a bunch of our friends with us this trip, many were first timers to Colorado in the summer - we had to drag them away kicking and screaming when it was time to leave! If you've never experienced CO in the summer, you are in for an incredible treat. Beautiful, spectacular scenery and sooooo much to do. If you don't bring your own, we HIGHLY recommend ATV rentals, getting off the main road and up into the mountains (there's always snow up top, no matter what time of year - obligatory snowball fights for those of us in South Texas who never see snow!). Creede is known for its abundance of open trails for exploring, there are very few places you can't access, but please remember to be considerate and clean up after yourself. This house is a must if you are coming to this area - you truly can't go wrong!
Million Dollar View
Hi Trisha, Just wanted to thank you for all your attention and work in making our trip to Creed work well for us. The property was beautiful, with a "million dollar" view.
We enjoyed our BBQ thanks to you making a special effort to get the grill out of the garage. Much appreciated.
I think you did a great job, so thanks again.
Let me start by saying the home is beautiful! That's where it ends! EPIC FAIL! Couldn't even hang clothes in the master closet. It had an owners lock on it. Had to hang clothes in the utility room. No access to garage. No comfortable furniture on the deck. Just a metal bar table and chairs. No grill for cooking out. And you'd better be prepared to cook all meals! Location is only good if you want to spend your time in the car. And you won't lay eyes on another human being except those that came with you. If that is what you are looking for this is your place. Home is located up a winding Forest Service road not convenient to town. No room to wander outside except the deck.
We are sorry that you are disappointed in the location of the house and the town of Creede. Creede is a small historic mining town located in the San Juan Mountains. Our home is located 2.5 miles from town, overlooking the town of Creede. Creede has a number of restaurants located in town less than 5 minutes away - - Cascada Mexican, MJs, Old Miners Inn, Café Ole, Arps, Creede Hotel, Tommyknockers and Kips. As far a cooking meals, when we were there in July for 8 days, we went out to eat every night and never cooked meals, except for breakfast. Two of the local establishments have live music on the weekends and there is also Creede Repertory theatre, that is well known in Denver and around Colorado, that has shows all during the summer months. Also, there is an excellent restaurant called Antler's that is about 15-20 minutes from Creede toward Lake City on 149.
There are many areas to "wonder" or hike around the house by just walking down the road up to some paths to explore the beauty of the area. Additionally, you can rent ATVs and explore locations around the Bachelor loop where the house is located. There is fishing in the Rio Grande that is only 10-15 minutes away and lake fishing if you want to drive about 30 minutes away. The beauty of Creede is the small town and the people in town along with the ability to explore the area if you love the outdoors and nature.
As far as the owner's master closet being locked, yes we need a place to store our clothes and personal items that need to be locked; however, there is a closet less than 15 feet away from the master bedroom to hang clothes for master bedroom guests along with a chest in the master bedroom to store clothes as well.
We are sorry that the grill was not put out , that was an oversight, but our property manager will be calling you to see if you would like to use the grill for the remainder of your stay.
Despite your disappointment, we hope that you found a way to enjoy your stay in our home and in the Creede area.
Creede is located on the Rio Grande River and provides a variety of outdoor activities for the entire family. You can relax on the deck and view the beautiful mountains or go for a hike all in the same location. 4 wheeler rentals are also a great option for those who love adventure. The town of South Fork is only a short 20 minute drive away, and also offers golfing, restaurants, and other family activities. Wolf Creek ski area is a 45 min drive from this amazing location.
