About Barb

We have enjoyed living in the Puget Sound Area for over 25 years. Staying active outdoors is easy to hike, boat (Barb is an avid dragon boater!), swim and bike close to our home. Our home feels like living in a country setting yet we are so close to everything!

Why Barb chose Lake Morton-Berrydale

We built our home 15 years ago with the intention of hosting families. That dream did not happen but we are now opening our walk-out (lower level) to visitors. We respect the privacy of our guests but look forward to getting to know folks staying in our house.

What makes this apartment unique

We are located close to outdoor recreation; 10 minutes to Washington National Golf Course, 15 minutes from world class mountain biking trails and just under an hour drive to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (Mt Rainier) or Snoqualmie Pass. If you prefer water activities, we are minutes away from Lake Morton and Lake Meridian. Services and grocery stores are within 5 miles in Kent or Covington. Maple Valley's Lake Wilderness is close by too!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This unit is spacious and very well maintained. The location is second to none with a wonderful lake just a short walk to the north. Walking or running on the neighborhood streets was a quiet and beautiful experience. The unit was clean and had new appliances and furnishings. It was conveniently located close to restaurants, hiking, and shopping. We had 3 adults in our party and the Owner surprised us with a second bedroom fully furnished in lieu of the advertised aero-matress! It was heaven!!

Felt like being at home

  • 5 of 5

My parents, brother and sister in law stayed here and enjoyed it very much. Barb is a great host and her house is beautiful. She stocks her home with all the essentials from shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom to coffee in the kitchen. We cooked there almost every night and found everything we needed in her kitchen to cook with. Grocery stores are easy to find and about 15 minutes away. The beds were extremely comfortable, there were plenty of pillows and extra blankets if needed.

My brother and sister in law did a little sight seeing and the location is easy to and from major highways to get you to Seattle and the airport.

Everyone enjoyed the easy access to shopping and highways. We felt that the rental was very homey and my parents plan to use it again in the future.

Any questions we had, Barb was quick to respond.

Superior rental for anniversary ski trip

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at this rental property for our anniversary. We absolutely loved our time there. It was private, spacious, and well decorated. Barb went the extra mile to make sure that we were comfortable during our stay. The kitchen was stocked with lots of coffee and delicious snack bars. The fridge was also stocked with orange juice, muffins and eggs. Even though this was a small gesture, it meant a lot to us (especially because we were doing ski trips during the day!). Barb even left a vase of fresh flowers on the kitchen table for us, and a personalized note congratulating us on our anniversary.

This was one of the best Homeaway properties we have had the pleasure staying at. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

Perfect for us!!

  • 5 of 5

This trip was planned on very short notice, and Barb was very accommodating in that respect. Our granddaughter came early, and we wanted something that gave us some of the peace and quiet that we enjoy. This place was lovely, just as pictured, in a quiet residential neighborhood that felt removed from the hubbub of the city. I planned on cooking meals that could be frozen and used once we returned home, and I really appreciated the well-equipped kitchen. I even borrowed a stockpot from Barb so that I could make some soup for the family. There's a lovely garden outside that added to the comforting environment. We brought the grandkids over one night for pizza, and they enjoyed the playground across the street. The bed was terrific--we both slept well--and I was able to do laundry before we headed home. I'm hoping that we will have another chance to stay here at some time in the future.

Beautiful and quiet

  • 5 of 5

This VRBO was among the best we have stayed at. The neighborhood was quiet, the house was decorated beautifully, it was cozy and inviting. The owner thought of everything a person would need and the place was extremely clean!

The owner, Barb, answered all of our questions about the area and gave great recommendations for restaurants.

I would recommend this VRBO to anyone staying needing to stay in the Kent, Washington area.

Great apartment and location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at this apartment, the beautiful, quiet neighborhood, the grounds, the convenient location to Mt. Rainier and to Puget Sound. We enjoyed our walks around the lake, our night strolls through the neighborhood, relaxing in this beautiful apartment and chatting and getting to know our hosts, Barb and George. We both would highly recommend this place. Thank you Barb and George!
