About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Daughter's birthday trip

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time at Hunters Haven. It is only 30 miles from our house but a world away. The beds were comfortable and it was cozy. You might need to clean the chimney as when a larger fire is built smoke starts to fill the room. We loved our stay and hopefully will be back in May for my birthday.

Great cabin, but very Smokey fireplace

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic time at this cabin! Everything was perfect except for the fact that the fireplace flew needs to be cleaned out! Every time we had a fire, the cabin got extremy Smokey.... and yes, the flew was open. We found if we turned the heater and it’s fan off while having a fire that the smoke wasn’t quite as bad, but it was still bothersome. Anyone with sensitive lungs shouldn’t stay here until they clean the flew. Otherwise, great cabin, clean and hot hot tub, comfy beds, etc!

A nice surprise

  • 4 of 5

Finding the property in the dark was a challenge. I suggest arriving before sunset if possible. Not much wow factor from the outside, but entering the great room gave a nice lodge feel that was not expected from the exterior. A nice fire in the fireplace finished off the effect for us! We enjoyed our stay.

Mt. Hood Getaway

I had an amazing time at Hunter's Haven with my girlfriend. It was the exact escape we needed from the city. It was beautiful, peaceful and had many cool and exciting features. I want to come again and I couldn't recommend it more!

Disappointing vacation

  • 2 of 5

Well one thing I have learned from this experience is to read the reviews on a cabin before I rent it. We attempted to build a fire Sunday eve when we arrived and the whole cabin filled up with smoke. Our eyes were burning and had a hard time breathing. We let it burn out and decided to check it out in the morning see it the flue was open...We wanted to use the hot tub which was the other thing on our list when we were searching for a cabin but there aren't any lights on the deck and back area really dangerous with all the rain that has made the deck super slick. When we went to do our dishes and brush our teeth both the kitchen sink and bathroom sink completely clogged up and took a while to drain totally backed up plumbing. Yes it's a cabin and rustic so will stop there with complaints. I decided to look at the reviews while I was waiting for someone to call me back from the rental company, we decided to cut our stay short, and all the things I was complaining about were all existing issues that had been voiced in the reviews. Fix these problems or list them in the cabin specs so people know what they are getting into. The cabin is really quaint, the river is great, the kitchen and appliances are up to date, two bathrooms is a plus, internet great. Some of the good things about this cabin.

Owner's Response: We apologize for the three major issues this guest experienced. The flue, hot tub area, and plumbing will be inspected. Thanks!
