About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

like magic hobbit house

  • 5 of 5

i was torn between laying in the hammock watching the Sandy River roll by, or watching it from the hot-tub. I forced myself (and wife) to jump in the car and go up the Mountain , a must do. But was so happy to be back in the hunting lodge.Next time we will stay a week!

Owner's Response: We are sorry to see this guest did not have a better experience while staying here. We demonstrated to this guest during their stay that a full-sized fire must be built in order to create enough updraft to pull the smoke out. The hot tub was taken care of when we were notified. Thank you!

Cute cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

Don't expect a Ritz Carlton , but its Rustic quiet cabin in the woods. The place is dated but charming. Everything worked and was relaxing . I would go back again!!

Smells that need fixing

  • 2 of 5

There was smell of smoke in the entire house that never aired out. In the main bedroom there was a sewage smell that persisted throughout the entire trip despite keeping windows open and fans running. THE WATER HAS A VERY STRONG SULFUROUS SMELL that was gross and potentially unsafe so we relied heavily on bottled water. This would be an annoyance if only for drinking water but since there is no dishwasher, washing dishes by bottled water was very inconvenient. I've stayed at different cabins nearby on the same road and have never encountered this issue with water.

Fun but funky

  • 3 of 5

Hunter's Haven is very secluded & tough to find. If you like privacy, this is the place for you. Not suitable for children, as there are many dangerous areas getting to the river. Hot tub was cold & then shut off as if there was a short in the wiring! Dangerous? Cool area though. Would've been nice to have better kitchen equipment & sleeper sofas besides the one futon under the bear head! Scary, smelly, fun & funky cabin getaway.

Owner's Response: We are a little disappointed to receive this review as the guest informed our property manager they were doing well and not in need of anything. We would have been happy to assist with the hot tub (which currently appears to be working perfectly) during their stay. The walk down to the river is concrete/rock and even has a handrail; we believe it is very safe for children. Thanks!
