Other Amenities

  • Lake big enough for water skiing, jet skiing, pontooning, and fishing. No public access so little boat traffic--makes swimming safe for children. You are welcome to use the old beat up pontoon w a motor but she is in rough shape, we love it that way, no one can hurt it, it is so bad. Floats and starts and we bring it out to the middle of the lake, anchor it all day, and use jet skis and other boats to bring lunch and drinks out. You are welcome to use it, but again, it is a conversation piece. You gotta laugh at the piece of work. We will never replace it, my father an my entire family used to take it out at night after dinner and he would sing to all 16 of his grandkids on that thing (back when it had seats) and sing his barbershop songs and the memories are priceless. My father is gone now but that pontoon is my favorite place in the world so you will laugh, but it is unreplaceable. and you can hurt it. Go ahead and use it, she starts every time. Replace gas if needed....moreless

Owner info

Year Purchased: 1998

About the owner: I have owned this lake home since my youngest was born 17 years ago and have never rented it out before, so I am kind of nervous because it is our home away from home. Our Children are now 25, 23, and 17 and with their busy lives with college and friends, they are finding it difficult to find the time to come up. Our primary residence is in Rochester, MN and we just moved into a home on a golf course so my husband wants to golf all the time so we are not able to come up to the cabin much anymore so we thought we would share it so others can enjoy this beautiful property. We thought about selling it but the kids do not want to and are begging us to keep it. When they get older and have kids of their own, they are going to want to come up again, so I guess we should share it. We only made it up once or twice last year and that is a shame, the place is so beautiful.

Why the Owner Chose Webster, WI, USA:
We bought this property because it is private, beautiful lake that is great for fishing and swimming. There is very little boat traffic so we were able to let the kids go out on the canoe or paddle boat and not have to worry so much. We have a sand beach and some beach toys in the shed great for the little ones to play. There are some life jackets, additional chairs for the firepit, and a few floaties in the shed down by the lake, help your self. You are welcome to use anything in the home, but just remember it is a home, so take care of it as you would your own. You can use the pontoon but do so at your own risk. We love it as we have so many memories. Each day, we would take the pontoon out to the middle of the lake and drop anchor. The kids would swim, my husband would fish, and I would just enjoy the music and the sun. As the kids got older, we got Jet ski's and boats so they would ski and wake board around the pontoon as I could watch. Around 4 we would come back to the cabin, shower up, make our dinner (chicken on the grill and my famous potato salad), all grab a drink, and go back down for a sunset pontoon ride around the lake. We did this for 17 years, every weekend, all summer long. After the pontoon ride, we would all go in to the woods and grab as much firewood as we could get and make a bonfire and smores. In the winter when there is snow, we come up for the 1000 plus miles of snowmobile trails and the whole family would snowmobile all day. Bring a camera so you can make your own memories. Pontoon Instructions! Our pontoon is at the right with Green top, smoker craft. Our land is from the apple tree to the right. Go ahead and take the top off, set it on the canoe on beach but put it back on before you leave. The gas should be full but try to replace whatever you use for the next guest, there is a gas can in the boat back by the boats gas tank under the seat that lifts up.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This cabin comes with all the amenities of home but is away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. It is a six mile drive back to the grocery store in Webster so bring your groceries and gas for your boats with you. And don't forget ice for the coolers. We leave a Bose portable boombox in the kitchen that works with I phones and bring it down on the pontoon for the day. Go ahead and use it but don't leave it out in the rain. You can bring your own towels but I have about 30 of them that you can use. The kids with all their friends would use them all up the first day so I started making everyone use the same towel for the weekend. There is a washer and dryer there with soap and softner sheets so you can wash them if use them all up. I have the cabin stocked with some essentials, like shampoo, body soap, conditioner, ketchup, mustard, a few beers, salt and pepper, coffee, spices. If anything expires throw it out. Go ahead and use whatever you want and replace if you can. I have a few garbage bags to get you started but I would suggest you bring some as it is amazing how much garbage piles up. Garbage day is on Thursday so you will need to put all the garbage in bags and bring it out to the street. There are garbage cans over by the sunroom that you can put them in and bring them to the street. Please make sure to pick up all your garbage. There is a $250 charge for cleaning but this is mainly to change the linens, vacuum, clean floors and bathrooms, and since check out is 11:00 and check in is at 4:00 (earlier if ready), you will need to leave it picked up. If you see something in need of repair, please write it down, I have a maintenance guy on standby. Update: We just replaced the roof, doors, fresh paint throughout. Our old pontoon got too ugly so we finally had to let it retire and upgrade to a newer one: You are welcome to use it, just replace the gas:
