Mountain log cabin living can be a blast when you know what to expect. There are a few more details to ponder as you plan this time of year: 4X4 wheel drive recommend in the likely case of snow packed road conditions. CDOT does an amazing job of keeping the main highway and road to the cabin plowed, but storm depending, plowing may not align with your arrival - departure timing. It will be important to check weather and road conditions week of your trip to ensure you pack and plan accordingly. Snow shoveling may be necessary to access drive - walk ways during your stay as there is no staff living on site. My beloved Allenspark
I lived here for many years during the late 70's to the mid-eighties, in the community of Allenspark..The owner's of this cabin...were extremely present and very gracious. The cabin itself had everything that you could desire..great for a large family!! Or just by yourself..Like me!
Thank you again!
Clean, Quiet and Relaxing
Desra was very accommodating on our last minute change in plans. The cabin was just as described very clean and cozy. Just a short distance to Wild Basin for hiking or a day at Estes Park. But far enough away to avoid large crowds. We were happy that pets we're allowed so we could travel with our dog. Thanks for providing us a little piece of Heaven. Dan & Diane
Wonderful family vacation!!!
Our family visited Cascading Creek Cabin in mid-July. We could not have picked a more perfect family escape! Upon arrival Jack greeted us and showed us the entire property...inside and out. The cabin's beautiful creek was the highlight for my kids, and with the balls and nets Jack provided they had hours of fun. The property has trails that are fun to explore and also for parents sit or swing and relax. The cabin is well equipped with all things needed and is oh so cozy. Jack also brought our kids tepees to play in along with an arts and crafts box and our favorite...dress-up clothes. We made great memories with the nightly fashions shows, ha! Would highly recommend to any family wanting to get away. Thanks Jack and Desra for a wonderful stay!!!
Alluring and welcoming, oozing with mountain charm!
From waking, rested and refreshed each morning from the very comfortable beds to falling in bed each night, lulled to sleep from the sound of the rushing creek and crisp mountain air we were charmed and enamored. Every nook and cranny has another lovely suprise or piece of eclectic artwork partnered with winsome suprises for the entire family. Thank you for sharing your part of Colorado with our family.
The perfect cabin
If you find yourself daydreaming about living in the perfect cozy mountain cabin, complete with scenic hiking, a kitchen capable of cooking home cooked meals, a rushing creek, and the cutest town to stroll about, this is your place. Not only that, but the owners went above and beyond for us. You see, the day before we were set to arrive, a huge snow storm (like 40 inches worth of snow) blew through, but Desra was in touch with us the whole time and even hiked in to the cabin to get paths shoveled and the cabin ready for us. Needless to say, we can't wait to visit again.
Will go back!
Jack and Desra are one of a kind souls! They went above and beyond what anyone could imagine to make our stay memorable. From keeping in touch from the moment we booked our stay to the moment we departed to head home. They even welcomed us with a note and the best sugar cookies I've ever had. They're so good I MAY have a slight addiction to them...(lol).
The cabin is perfect. It's clean, rustic and beautiful! We can't praise it enough. Another bonus is the cabin is only a short drive from Estes Park and the RMNP so if you want to have a day outing there is plenty to keep you busy!
Although, if you would like to stay in and cozy on up, light a fire, put in a good movie and snuggle up on the couch. There are more than enough heat sources in the cabin to keep you warm during the snowy times of year and if you get too toasty open up a couple windows to bring in that clean and crisp mountain fresh air.
On another note, the first night that we were there my husband came down with a stomach bug. This is where my "above and beyond" statement comes in..Jack brought us some medicine and some 7-Up. Can you imagine? How wonderful! My husband, Taylor, was up and running in no time at all and we were back to having our adventures.
We highly recommend staying at Jack and Desra's Cascading Creek Log Cabin. You won't be sorry! We will be telling our friends and family all about it and hoping to one day return.
P.S. There are some pretty great ATV trails around the cabin as well. We brought our six-wheeler up with us and made a fun day out of exploring some of the mountains. So fun!! :)
Make a break for the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and try something new this vacation! Enjoy authentic creekside cabin living as you explore there is to do!
Integrate yourself into the small Colorado mountain community of Allenspark, elevation 8,500ft on this vacation adventure. Our neighborhood is full of other unique cabins and cottages. There is a sweet little cafe half mile up the road, where you can enjoy delicious breakfasts and lunches. The Allenspark Livery will treat you to amazing horseback rides in the area.
We are mindful and respect the wildlife that abounds here and shares our neck of the woods.
Your cabin retreat is about 2 hours north of Denver, 15 miles from Lyons, 20 miles Estes Park and 10 miles from Wild Basin / Rocky Mountain National Park.
