Our craftsman style central Austin garage apartment is on a quiet street nestled between between two historic pecan trees. This 1 bedroom / 1 bath has a queen size bed in the main bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed in the living room. The apartment sleeps 4 adults. It has an HDTV, high-speed wifi, full size washer / dryer, high thread count sheets, soft towels, full kitchen with Kitchen Aid appliances and gorgeous hardwood floors. It is a short walk to the Central Market grocery store, Upper Crust Bakery, Draught House Pub, Taco Deli, Teo Gelato Shop & more.

The Rosedale pool & park is a short walk. The park was recently updated and has full tennis courts, basketball court and a free swimming pool in the summer. If you have kids, then the kids playground is amazing.

For transportation, you can easily walk to the MetroRAPID Rosedale bus stop and take the bus downtown (runs every 12 min.). There are also multiple Cars2Go in our neighborhood and Uber / Lyft serve the area well.

Perfect Property

We needed a spot close to family for a celebration of life event and this apartment was perfect. The bed like sleeping on a cloud, the linens were all the best quality, and the design of the apartment was very hip and classy. The neighborhood was very family oriented and it was wonderful to walk through and see all the Halloween decorations. We had never been to Austin before and this was a great spot to hang out and easy access to downtown. Thanks for the hospitality!

Everything a VRBO property should be

We had a wonderful time at Dustin and Rebecca's property. Everything was exactly as described and depicted in the photos. Check in was flexible and easy. They were very welcoming and accommodating. The kitchen and bathroom were really well-appointed. No complaints whatsoever. Easy access to everything Austin has to offer. Would definitely stay here again. This is one of those places you hesitate to leave such a positive review because you want it to be available when you return!!

Canceled by Owner 6 Days before Scheduled Stay!

I contacted Dustin (owner) on Feb 9th to ask if his property was available for the weekend that my husband and I would be traveling to Austin (March 3-6). We were extremely interested in his property and due to pets being considered we wanted to double check that our dog could accompany us. Dustin responded quickly letting me know that the property was available and that we could in fact being our dog. We booked and received confirmation on Feb 10th. Then, 6 days before our trip I receive an email from Dustin saying: “I’m very sorry to do this but I just cancelled your reservation and provided a 100% refund to you. We’ve had something come up with our property and I’m concerned it would negatively impact your stay with us.” I was disappointed to say the least that Dustin waited till 6 days before we left to inform me of the information about the property. I was happy that we got our money back however; I was confused why there was not more of an explanation of to what exactly was wrong with the property. So I reached out to Dustin through phone and chatted with him where he still did not have an explanation for what the problem was. He first stated that there was an electrical problem, but that there was still people staying at the property. So it seemed to me that the property was still functioning. So I asked further if the other guest where having issues and an unpleasant stay, and again what the issue was. Dustin replied by saying that actually at this time they don’t really know the issue because they haven’t had an electrician diagnose the problem. Again, still never telling me in any way what the issue even was. I expressed my disappointment to Dustin, and while he apologized I couldn’t help but get the impression that something was just not being said when it came to exactly why the reservation was canceled. I explained to Dustin that we now had to book another place, and that the option where limited due to traveling with a pet and trying to stay in budget. Dustin offered to pay for any difference, however, after the only experience that I have had with him, I was very hesitant to book a place just based on his “word” that he would pay the difference. Overall, I think the property is beautify displayed in pictures and has overall great reviews. However, I would highly recommend using extreme caution when booking this property. It sure does make for a stressful time trying to find a place to stay last minute.

Since this was the first time that we've ever cancelled a reservation, we weren't sure the best way to let you know and we did our best to be fair. It sounds like 6 days notice and a 100% refund wasn't satisfactory to you. We assure you that we did let you know as soon as we realized that we needed to cancel so that you could have time to find another place to stay. As for our track record, we've been reliable and responsive to our guests. Your experience of us needing to cancel the reservation is a rare exception rather than the rule. As we explained on the phone, this is a family owned business for us that we take very seriously. We are disappointed that you decided to give us a 1 star review even though you have never met us and never stayed at our place. Our hope is that our future guests read the other reviews from guests that have actually stayed at our property. Regards, Dustin & Rebecca PS - the electrical issue is resolved

Top Notch Austin Rental

I stayed at Dustin's garage apartment rental during Austin City Limits weekend with two friends. We were extremely pleased with our stay here. The property felt brand new, was clean and equipped with essential toiletries,towels, etc. We also enjoyed the Keurig coffee in the morning. The location is conveniently near the Mopac Expressway and Lamar Blvd to make travel around Austin easy. The neighborhood is great as well, with many great food/drink options nearby. I wish we had the chance to meet Dustin and his family, however they were out of town when we stayed. Regardless, communication was great with Dustin and we felt very welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks Dustin!
