My name is Jared and I was born and raised in Estes Park. My wife, Jessica is from Ontario, Canada. We both currently live and work in Estes Park. I work for a general contractor in town and Jessica is a hairstylist. In August of 2013 we took on the task of building this house in our free time. 1 year later we moved in.
Jared kIngswood purchased this house in 2014
This is a great property for your family/group vacation. It is new, clean, close to town, and in a quiet neighborhood. Wildlife can often be viewed in the yard and on walks around the neighborhood. Enjoy great mountain views from all rooms of the house. With capacity to sleep up to 8 and a full kitchen it is most likely a cheaper option than a hotel.
The main level is wheel chair friendly. Few properties offer the great mountain views, quiet neighborhood and proximity to down town Estes as this. Since this home is less than 1 year old everything is clean, up to date and in good working order.
We stayed in this home with some of my adult children and their families. We had great responses from the beginning to any questions, arrived without challenges into the home and were quite pleased. We were able to spread out, use the deck and kitchen without a hitch and were able to enjoy the view. We had some deer wander below and to the side of the deck. The children enjoyed that! They also enjoyed a few chipmunks here and there. The kitchen was very well equipped and only had one item I would have liked but was told they would add this for future renters. Most of our meals were prepared in the home without a hitch. We had a family celebration on the evening of Independence Day and also had company stop by for lunch and this home accommodated our group well. The bathrooms were well equipped and comfortable and the bedrooms were clean and worked fairly well for our group. There are two queen beds in one bedroom upstairs, and luckily my newlywed son and his wife were good enough to share the room with our adult daughter.
We enjoyed the Estes area and its many activities and restaurants as we come most every summer. Jared did stop by to check-in on us our first morning and we enjoyed visiting with him, and he was available for any questions. We would definitely return if the home size was again appropriate for our group.
We were in Estes Park, CO with our grown family for a wedding, followed by a Rocky Mountain vacation week. Having found our vacation homes on VRBO for the last several years, in various locations with all positive experiences, we knew that was the way to go. This home is our favorite VRBO rental to date! The pictures/description on the website is 100% accurate but doesn't really show how beautiful the home and location is. It's new with all the modern amenities you could possibly need and more, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and bedding, great furniture, patio furniture on the back deck as well as the front patio. There is no yard to speak of - it's more of a wild mountainy area (although we saw huge deer in the front and back of the house almost daily) but we were there to be out exploring the mountains so it didn't matter. The deck and front patio are perfect for hanging outside. Jared met us when we arrived and couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. Although we did not need to contact him for anything during our stay, he made it perfectly clear he had no problem with us calling him if need be.
The home is close enough to the town centre to walk (a mile or so) but it really made more sense for us to drive; once out of the neighborhood it was a busy area. The location is perfect; away from the noise and touristy area yet just minutes to the town centre with shops and plenty of restaurants. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is a 12 minute drive and less than an hour to many other little mountain towns.
We started out each morning having coffee on the back deck, gazing at the mountains and Lake Estes; perfect location to plan our day! We made most meals at the house in the fabulous kitchen but a favorite spot we found is The Donut Haus on Moraine Avenue in Estes Park; an old fashioned bakery that makes donuts fresh each morning right there! Hayley's Ice Cream Shop has the best homemade ice cream and cones. Our favorite activity all week was our daily excursions to Rocky Mountain National Park; hiking, rafting through A Wanderlust Adventure, fly fishing through Scot's Sporting Goods, a day driving to & enjoying Grand Lake, and the big conquest for our son; hiking to the top of Longs Peak!
This home and location is a perfect rental; worth every cent! If we are in that area again we will certainly be contacting Jared to stay in his home.
We immediately noticed how modern the house was. Upon walking up to the front door, we could see the amazing vistas of Lumpy Ridge through the front door. The house was impeccably clean, very modern, wifi-enabled and more than enough size for our family of four. The owner was very accessible and eager to help with questions but cautious not to impede on our trip. The house was close to town and RNMP but not easily walkable. My family and I had a great trip and the experience with the house made it complete.
Had a great time in Estes on our recent vacation. The owner was extremely easy to work with and available for questions. House is in a quiet neighborhood which is great to get away from the crowds. Our family of six had plenty of room and I loved getting up early to have coffee on the deck and watch the sunrise over the mountains. Absolutely would rent house again.
