**Be sure to enter Saturday to Saturday rental dates from mid-June through August. Marooned rents Saturday to Saturday during peak summer dates. **

Are you ready to get MAROONED on beautiful Hatteras Island!? This is a great family-friendly home or ideal location as a getaway for couples or friends. Our home is located on a quiet cul de sac in the development of Kinnakeet Shores in Avon . Within 6-10 min. you will be walking up the dune feeling the sand between your toes!
If you're in the mood for a dip in the pool from about mid May to end of Sept., take a 7-10 minute stroll down the road within the development and enjoy the gorgeous community pool complete with baby pool, many lounge chairs, shaded areas and tables to enjoy a poolside picnic or snack. There are three new pickleball courts just steps away and you will receive the code to unlock the gate!
The home is decorated with comfy beach furnishings and brand new bedding. Guests will love having their own bathroom in each of the four bedrooms! (2K, 1Q with a twin bunk on top, and the last bedroom has 1 set of twin beds, ) Sleeps 9 in all.

During the peak summer season (mid June to mid August) , we rent from Saturday to Saturday only.

Wifi throughout the home and 5 smart TV's for 2019...one in living room as well as all bedrooms! The top level features a Great Room/Dining Area/Kitchen with vaulted ceilings. Prepare meals and serve your guests from the huge granite covered island. We have a dvd player with several movies for your use. Depending on the time of day, choose the partially shaded front deck to sit at the picnic table or adirondack chairs with a cool beverage or head to the open back deck for star gazing and experience the awesome sunsets looking toward the sound or enjoy partial ocean views. The dining table seats 6 along with 3 comfy stools at the bar area. Pull up chairs are within easy reach for the table as well. A toddler seat and high chair are stored in the bedroom if needed. There is a dishwasher, microwave, oven and large stainless refrigerator featuring filtered water and ice on the outside door. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans, silverware, etc. are stocked in the kitchen so you never have to leave home! The top floor includes one Master bedroom/bathroom with a King bed and smart t.v. An additional half bath completes the top floor layout. On the middle level, you will have access to a washer/dryer along with a cozy area to read or take a break. Three more bedrooms with private bathrooms (one set of twins, a queen with twin bunk on top and another King room) complete the second floor. There is an outdoor deck on this level leading you onto a large covered deck for additional shade. Or perhaps, you'd like to take a snooze on the North Carolina hammock nestled under the trees outdoors? Enjoy a refreshing outdoor shower under the house in the lower porch area. There is a Weber charcoal grill located under the house for your use as well. Several beach chairs and boogie boards are stored near the entry steps which you are welcome to use. There’s a wagon for guests to transport beach or pool equipment.

Bed linens are provided. Guests bring their own towels (to keep rental price down). However, we can arrange towel rental and send rates for you if requested.Beautiful new pickleball/tennis courts are available to our guests free of charge!

This was a great place to stay for an extended family vacation. There was enough space for everyone to be comfortable. We purchased this property in May of 2015 to use and rent because we love the Outerbanks and have a history of vacationing here for many years!!! In addition, we have family member who live on Hatteras year round so, having this property, gives us flexibility to visit, clean, and update throughout the year! We've worked hard at getting it decorated and ready for you to enjoy!

Why they chose this property

We felt the location of this property was ideal for us because it is nestled on a cul de sac in the community of Kinnakeet Shores. It's a quiet, family friendly development with loads of roads to walk, run or bike. The beautiful pool is a great perk because it gives guests water options. For example, visit the beach in the morning, eat lunch and then swim some laps in the large pool. We LOVE the location because we can easily walk or ride a bike to the nearby shopping plaza and get some groceries, pick up a pizza at Gidgets, hit the Dollar store, pharmacy, or grab a delicious bite to eat at BROS sandwich shop or any of the nearby restaurants!

What makes this property unique

The four master bedrooms sold us on this property! We knew friends and family would love that kind of privacy. The short walk to the beach is so pleasant as you cross over a little pond along the way and check out the fish. You are close enough to the beach to lay down your towels, etc. and run back to the house for a bite to eat or restroom break....it's just a 5-10 minute walk! The town of Avon is quaint and has everything you'll need...grocery store, pharmacy, dollar store, hardware store, plenty of surf and gift shops, and finally a variety of delicious eateries.
