The property was clean and comfortable. Not fancy but provided all we needed for our stay.

Loved the a Wild Dunes location. The area was beautiful located close to beaches, golf courses and bike trails. About 30 minutes to historic Charleston. Harris & Teeter Grocery Store nearby. Would suggest picking up toilet paper and coffee at store as the “starter” supplies only have 1 roll and no coffee. Enjoyed The Refuge and Morgan Creek Restaurants nearby. Jeff was very helpful & responded to our questions very quickly.

Frayed Around the Edges

  • 3 of 5

The first thing anyone needs to know about the units in Port O Call is that they are not sound proof. This unit is on the second floor and we heard every single footstep from the people in the unit above us. The unit itself was just ok. It wasn't exactly in poor condition, but is just looks worn. It probably should be updated a bit. It appeared clean, but had an odd odor (scented cleaning products? Insecticide?) throughout the place. Opening the windows for a day and washing the sheets improved the odor. We killed a couple of cockroaches in the kitchen each morning. Yuck! I know the South constantly fights insect infestations, but I expected more from a vacation rental. I hardly ever write negative reviews, but I cannot recommend this unit to anyone.

Port O Call was clean, neat, and just the right size for the two of us. We will definitely stay there again.

First of all, the owner, Jeff, is on top of things, promptly answering emails, phone calls, etc. A situation arose at the last minute and Jeff was very accommodating, which we greatly appreciate. We won't forget that!

He sent additional info on the area, but some of it is out of date. Had we not been regular visitors to Wild Dunes, we wouldn't have known it. The info lists a landline if I remember correctly and I didn't see one. We have one AT&T cell and one Verizon. We each found a place in the condo where we could use our phones. There is a Verizon extender somewhere because I could hear it upon placing a call. Brilliant! The cell reception in POC is very spotty if you get anything at all so it was great to be able to use our phones. No issues w/ the internet, although we would have liked a more secure password.

We have stayed at POC for over 15 yrs, but our first time in this condo. There is everything you need already there. There isn't one thing I thought we needed. We don't cook hardly at all when on vacation, but the kitchen is well stocked if you choose to do so.The condo has been updated and the tile floors are so easy to keep free of sand.

There is a wonderful view of the pool, beach, and ocean from the screened in porch, where we spent a lot of time. Make sure you close the door firmly on your way out and check to make sure it is locked.

We won't hesitate to stay there again in the future. Thanks, Jeff!

St. Louis, MO.

The condo was just what we wanted. m Location was fabulous.

We loved sitting out on the screened in deck with views of the ocean and pol. It really felt like an oceanfront condo we were that close. Plenty of kitchen wares to cook except maybe a pizza cutter. Grocery store was maybe 5-10 minutes away. Our favorite place to eat was Poe's on Sullivan Island which was also a short drive away and where you could see Fort Moultrie. It was easy to get into Charleston. I would recommend the carriage tour with the Palmetto Company with Evan. He was great. Able to do so much from this location. Can bike on the trails and on the beach.
