About this property

The Unique Squirrels Nest nestled in the Woods! We are pet friendly.

Located 17 miles south of Flagstaff in Munds Park you will love this Unique Cabin. Backing to a seasonal creek, and bosting one of the largest back decks, your family will love the beautiful views and tall pine trees. This cabin is an experience your family will not forget, it includes penny countertops in the bathroom & hidden squirrels throughout the home. The cabin has been remodeled with new flooring & paint. A short walk to the Bar & Grill or the small convenience store. It is quirky, cute & will bring a smile to your face. Enjoy our nest!

A few things to know about the property. There is a large fenced yard and we allow dogs. There are two decks for you to use. We provide a propane outdoor fireplace and a propane grill.

The interior of the cabin is cozy. Furniture is newer and very confortable. The bathrooms have been remodeled and include new tubs. Large wood table in new addition is great for family dinners. Rustic but you’re looking for a comfy cozy place to bring your family and make memories and please think about booking our cabin.

Please note that this is a two-story cabin. My husband and I have a downstairs unit attached to the cabin. We are rarely there.

The property was lovely. There was plenty of cooking materials and entertainment options. The showers were large and clean. The house was set up with lots of lovely seating areas and comfortable pillows and blankets.Our only wish was kleenex.

I am a little sad that someone would rate us 4 stars because we did not supply them with kleenex. Also you never paid your pet deposit of $40 so I think you could have used that money to buy yourself some.

Wonderful place for our family!

We absolutely loved staying here! We decided to rent a cabin on a whim to play in the snow with our kinds and I am so glad Michelle and Tim's place was avaliable. They were incredible hosts and their place was perfect for us! There was plenty of snow and just enough room for us to play in the backyard! Highly recommend staying here!

We stayed just after a snow storm but had good access into the neighborhood. Blanket of snow in the backyard limited some activities but had fun playing in the snow with the kids. Overall a good trip

Thank you for reviewing our property. I’m sorry that you thought it was dated. With new vinyl flooring, appliances that are one year old, 2 new remodeled this year bathrooms and furniture that is one year old we are unsure of what you mean by dated. I guess it’s a cabins built in 1974??? We are sorry it wasn’t up to your standards. We’re also sorry that you had such a hard time figuring out how to use a DVD . I know sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between a TV remote and a Dvd remote. We’re also sorry that you had such a hard time with the Internet and that you had to pull the cable out of the wall. Also that upset tummy that you had where you blew poo all over our shower curtain we hope that wasn’t caused by one of our local diners. Maybe you’re better in the city. Thank you, love the squirrels!

Really special cabin

This place is really special! It's well-loved and lived in by the owners with lots of special books and trinkets that we're sure are well-loved. Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows and blankets and bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean. We especially loved the back yard and decks- and family of javelina we could safely see safely behind our fence! Location is really amazing. You can walk to the small Mund's Park town, drive quickly to Flagstaff and we even traveled to Verde Valley for the day! THANK YOU to the hosts for sharing this!

Son's Birthday retreat

We always vacation on my sons birthday and choose to stay at the Squirrels Nest. They have gradually updated the entire house and we really enjoy the location and property. SIT OUT ON BACK DECK AND RELAX!

Clean but cozy

House is very cozy/clean on the inside. Beds very comfortable, and love the kitchen table. Kids where trying to find all the squirrels lol. Outside deck needs to be cleaned really bad and maybe a little yard work. Front breezeway should be cleaned. Otherwise a very nice stay!!!! I would stay again!!!!

#1 spot for family vacation!!

I have never found a vrbo rental that felt more like home! The owner, Michelle, was absolutely wonderful! We stayed during a major snow fall which added a lot of stress but she treated us like family. She continuously checked in on us and even offered to send her husband to rescue us. The cabin has absolutely everything you could possibly need! Coffee, hot chocolate, gloves, hats, paper plates, solo cups..the list goes on and on! They truly thought of it all. The beds are so comfortable with super soft blankets. My kids are already asking to go again. I would recommend over and over!

Family Holiday Retreat 2022

With 3 adults, two kids and two dogs, this was the perfect size property for our family Christmas. And, Michelle was easy to communicate with and quick to respond, taking care of our every need! Once the ice and snow were cleared from the steps, the kids had a great time in the back yard with the sleds Michelle has at the property. The dogs got in some play time as well. We enjoyed the indoor fireplace to keep us toasty warm and lit up the outdoor fire pit in the evenings. And, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and our Christmas dinner. My favorite thing was the coffee bar! Michelle saw to every detail to serve the whole family. It was amazing! Great get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city, nestled in the pines in Munds Park.

Why they chose this property

If you want to stay in a cabin and don't want the fancy granite and high end living and want a rustic, cute place that your family will talk about for years then you will love our cabin. We allow pets and kids love to stay at the home and count the squirrels.

What makes this property unique

The backyard deck is the best part of the home. It overlooks a seasonal creek and has a fire pit and plenty of seating. We are not right on top of neighbors like some of the homes in Munds. The large fenced yard is perfect for your pets. Sometimes you will see javalina or elk in the ravine behind the home.
