About this property

Modern Cabin By Bear Lake

At the bequest of its new owners, this soulfully modern log cabin was reassembled in 2015 by the man who purchased and moved it off a Rickman, TN property back in 1991. It offers a cozy master downstairs with queen bed, a loft area with both a double and a twin bed, two fireplace seating areas, a fully equipped and sparkling new kitchen, along with a dining area, laundry and bath facility and fire pit. We also supply a twin air mattress with linens if a sixth person would like to stay.

This property is stationed atop a hill with amazing views of Bear Lake, its beautiful, white estate home. Nestled in the wood and just outside the city of Cookeville, this Scandinavian-inspired cabin is the perfect respite.

Weekend Getaway for two

We recently stayed here and it was the perfect weekend getaway. The cabin is furnished beautifully and is in a very nice area, secluded and peaceful, but also close enough to town. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and sits on a picturesque lot overlooking a lake. We had such a wonderful time exploring Tennessee and Kentucky stopping at wineries, antique shops, and parks to do some hiking.

Nice getaway

The hill cabin log house was in a beautiful setting and a great getaway that was quiet and peaceful. If I could make a few suggestions to elevate the experience for your guests. It was difficult for us to find some of the items needed such as coffee filters and appropriate fittings for the coffee accessories. There was no Kleenex available in the cabin, and we were unable to make contact with the manager when requesting permission to use the fireplace in spite of texting the provided number. After seeing this home featured on the magnolia Network, I did expect a little more elevated experience, but overall a beautiful home and surroundings.

Adorable getaway spot, convenient and pleasant

Overall, this is a really cute, convenient place for a brief getaway for a couple or a small family. Lovely double-sided fireplace if it’s cold out and great fire pit right outside the cabin. We had all kinds of weather while we were there (from snow + cold to not needing to wear a jacket) and the property was comfortable and enjoyable throughout. Could perhaps use some new dishes, but overall, just a great place to stay for a few days.

Perfect quiet getaway

The cabin is beautiful and clean. The location feels secluded and remote, but is less than 10 minutes from stores, etc. The whole family wished we had booked a longer stay. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, too!

Cozy and Relaxing Cabin

I definitely recommend staying here. The cabin is beautiful, clean and well appointed. The hosts have made sure that you have everything you could need. The location is quiet and peaceful and within easy driving distance of so many activities. Can’t wait to stay again!

We enjoyed our stay so much..Very serene yet you’re only a few minutes to great restaurants and convenience.. We wish it had been warmer. We were there first week in April. Pretty property. Used the fire pit on cool nights. Watched movie on smart tv. We went to Burgess Falls & Fall Creek Falks.. Beautiful drive and not very far..

Great weekend getaway!

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend away at this adorable cabin! It has a perfect balance of cozy cottage with all the amenities needed. Options for wood burning fires both inside and outside made it perfect for the cool evenings. Anna was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend this for any couple, or small group of friends to get away and enjoy!

Quaint, Modern Cabin

We had a lovely visit at Anna’s cabin. All was exactly as described and photographed in the listing. Anna was very responsive (within minutes) and so helpful! The cabin is adorable and was perfect for our little family getaway. We visited a couple of days before Thanksgiving and captured some fun pics of wild turkeys in the yard as we were packing our bags to head home. Our 7 and 9-year-old navigated the loft just fine and enjoyed climbing the ladder to bed each night. We will definitely be back!

BEAUTIFUL CABIN

Everything was clean and very nice. The ONLY issue we ran into was there were no extra trash bags, paper towels, or toilet paper. It was no big deal since there is a store right down the road from us. I’m sure if I would have said something to the owner they would have solved the issue for us, but we took care of it.

quick Fairy Tale getaway

It's too cute....so stylish and well done. There is a neighbors pond nearby, which is not accessible ..but nice to view. Cozy fireplaces. There were 4 of us and this was a perfect size for a quick get away..

The cabin was in an excellent area. Private, quiet, and very convenient. The check-in process was seamless. Overall, the cabin was comfortable and sleeping in the loft was a nice experience. The cabin could've been a little cleaner, primarily sweeping and cleaning around baseboards. But would not hesitate to stay there again.

What a beautiful retreat! The pictures don’t even do this place justice. Details at every corner make this cabin an incredible stay. The fire place at night was so romantic and warm, then waking up to the heated floors was elating ❤️! I would highly recommend this private cabin for anyone who enjoys privacy and luxury. Even the bed sheets were incredible, what a great place. The best VRBO I’ve stayed in yet! Thankful for you having us!
