THE FOUR WINDS Cottages are RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE OCEAN at Mile post 17.5
8310 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd in lovely South Nags Head.

Four winds #1 is decorated in a Tropical decor and is SENIOR FRIENDLY. Only one level, with no stairs to climb.

We provide an amenities package-starter package for all guest's. It includes the following:
Sheet sets for all beds(WE DO NOT MAKE THE BEDS WITH THE SHEETS. YOUR SHEET SETS WILL COME IN A VACCUMMED SEALED BAG), one towel set that the house sleeps, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bath, 2 bars of soap per bath, 2 rolls of paper towels, 2 dishwasher pods, and one travel size bottle of dish soap.

Inside, you’ll find the the comfortable living room has leather furniture and a Coffee Table with Foosball table built right in!

There are also SMART TVs in the living room and bedrooms, FREE WI-FI and a DVD player.
Over the Winter we updated/remodeled this kitchen and we even added a dishwasher.

A fully equipped kitchen is all you need to keep your hungry family happy. Or you can enjoy the yard and barbeque on the charcoal grill. Eat on the picnic table for a nice meal in nature.

The pleasant Screened In Porch allows you to enjoy the Ocean breezes without those pesky bugs.
Not your turn yet for the shower? No problem. The outdoor shower has hot & cold water and is enclosed for privacy.

This home is ideal for small families, including the four-legged members. There is even a fenced in yard!

Everything that we needed for the most part is available at this house. Comfortable beds and couches were nice. Decent layout for a single family and a couple of pets if needed. Lots of times the actual property doesn't look as good as the pictures, but this wasn't the case here; everything about this little cottage was charming and just like the pictures! It was the perfect size and had all the amenities you would need for your stay, and even some we didn't need. The "no stairs" feature was great for my husband, who has bad knees, and the little fenced in yard was perfect for when I didn't want to walk my girls. The few times I needed to contact the host, I received a reply right away. It was great having private beach access practically right across the street, too.

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
