Sit back and relax in front of oversized windows framing incredible views of the San Francisco Peaks. Located on the desirable west side of town, our house is two minutes from some of the best hiking and biking trails in the area, yet only five minutes from downtown Flagstaff and ten minutes from NAU. The designer decorated home features comfortable bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, and tons of space for the whole family. Parks, the Museum of Northern Arizona, and trails are all in walking distance. We provide maps of mountain bike and hiking trails, local information, and sightseeing and restaurant recommendations.

Use our home as a base for wonderful adventures or enjoy simply soaking in the views. You'll find yourself delightfully cool in the summer (elevation over 7000 feet). In the winter enjoy the fact that the entrance to Snowbowl is only three miles away. Stay once and you'll understand why this is such a special getaway for our family.

The home sleeps 7-8 persons with four bedrooms (6 adult maximum): Master bedroom with king bed; Bedroom Two with a king bed; Bedroom Three with two twins; and Bedroom Four with a twin bed and twin trundle beneath.

About Becky Youman

We love being outdoors in Flagstaff.

Becky Youman purchased this house in 2005

Why Becky Youman chose Canyon Country & Northeast

Northern Arizona is so special with its mountains, pines, and four seasons. Flag is a wonderful, laid-back town. It's a college town so there are lots of cultural activities and plenty of good restaurants. We can enjoy an amazing variety of scenery within an hour of our house, including the Grand Canyon, Navajo Nation, and Sedona. Mountain biking and hiking are two of our passions and Flag is the best spot in Arizona for those pursuits.

What makes this house unique

Our house has fantastic views of the San Francisco Peaks. It is also quite large and comfortable, with a back patio that can seduce you for hours. If you want to hike or bike, you can access great trails within a mile of our house or even go into Flag's fun downtown on the urban trail.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Everything was so wonderful. Love the view, very comfortable, close to everything. Great family weekend visiting NAU.

Bear gets a Peak View

VRBO Bear stayed here

Oct 6, 2009

This roomy, two-story "Peak View" home was the perfect “home away from home” for this bear’s Flagstaff vacation! It was a “beary” comfortable home with a large kitchen and dining area. There was a spacious deck off the kitchen for outdoor dining. Both the deck and back yard had a spectacular view of the Peaks and the fully fenced yard included a wonderful play area for the little bear cubs in our clan. The downstairs living room had space for relaxing, a game closet, many books and a flat screen TV. The room’s giant windows overlooked majestic views of the Peaks mountain range. Downstairs featured a large master bedroom, spacious closet, and full bath. Upstairs, there were three bedrooms and an extra bathroom with a futon in the loft for additional sleeping or playing. Peak View was just off of Historic Route 66 and less than 10 minutes from NAU - Northern Arizona University. It’s perfect for any family who wishes to visit the campus and a good base for Northern Arizona sightseeing. The home is also a few short minutes from the Snowbowl ski area, biking & hiking trails, downtown Flagstaff and only an hour’s drive to the Grand Canyon. The VRBO Bear

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for opening up your home to us! Everyone from 12 to 77 in age (6 in all) were able to find a spot to call their own. The house was clean and I was pleasantly surprised to find soaps and shampoos in the showers and half bath, laundry detergent for the washer and detergent for the dishwasher. Those little things made us feel welcomed.

I was happy to find the ping pong table in the garage and the games in the closet. Unfortunately, we were too busy to take advantage of those fun things.

The location was great for us, the neighborhood was quiet and the view from the back of the house is spectacular. It's not everyday I can drink my morning coffe and stare as such a wonderful sight!

We will recommend your home to anyone who wants to come to Arizona and see the sights or just relax.

Clean, comfortable, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for my 5 day girls trip to Flagstaff and the surrounding areas, primarily the National Parks. The bedrooms were good sized, even the office/bedroom, which was mine. It was very helpful to have one bedroom/bathroom on the first floor as one of our friends was still recovering from an auto accident and can't handle stairs very well. I felt the common areas were plenty spacious for all 4 of us and it was nice to have off-street parking. Three of us shared the upstairs bathroom - I was glad to see that Becky had LOTS of hooks and towel racks in there. I think storage gets forgotten about in some rentals. The dishwasher broke on our 2nd to last day and even though Becky couldn't get it replaced before we left, she was very quick to respond to my voicemail regarding the dishwasher, and get the ball rolling on its' replacement. We didn't really use too many dishes anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. Recommendations: I would put an exhaust fan in the upstairs bathroom (personal preference) since quite a few people could potentially be using the bathroom during a stay. I would also put a dresser in the office/bedroom (maybe in the closet?) just so there is someplace to put clothes, etc. All in all, my friends and I all enjoyed the house and I would definitely rent it again should I come back to Flagstaff. It was a very reasonable rate for 4 of us to split. Much better than staying in a hotel room!
