About Sandy K.
I love to travel! I've been very blessed to enjoy traveling as a child while my dad was in the military and then as an adult for my job and with my husband. We began visiting Hawaii in 1999 and our annual visits turned into our first purchase of a vacation home in 2006. It was on our 4th trip to the Big Island of Hawaii and during our 2nd stay at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club that we began looking for our own place. The diversity of this island paradise and the wonderful snorkeling and the lovely townhouse settings made all the other complexes pale in comparison on our searches - we purchased townhouse #59 and returned for our fifth trip to completely redo the unit (tile to ceiling) in preparation for personal and guest visits. We still feel the same way about this wonderful place and now own a second, completely oceanfront unit (#196) in this same lovely complex. And, it's only gotten better. Our goal in rentals is to offer what we'd want and expect in a unit if we were traveling. Super clean, well maintained, simple and beautful decor, plenty of space to pack away our suitcases and settle in comfortably, good beds & linens, and complete kitchens for at home meals whenever we like. Fortunately for us, many of our guests appreciate and expect the same type of accomodation and we have several guests or groups of guests that have become repeat visitors to our lovely place/s. All have said this is the best place they've found and the first place they check for return visits. We love and appreciate all of our guests but even more so our repeat or referred guests. We'd be delighted to welcome you and your friends to a stay in paradise. Our motto in life - pay it forward; be the first to do the right thing; set the right example; good karma will follow you. Our guests should know that we will do everything to help them enjoy their stay with us.

Why Sandy K. chose Kahaluu Bay
When we were looking for our dream home in paradise we found this perfectly located unit and nothing else compared. Next to the ocean but no oceanfront price and next to the pool and two minutes (max) from a walk-on beach. I loved the complex, the sense of security and proximity of less than 1/2 mile to Kahalu'u Beach Park and the Keauhou Shopping Center. I still feel the same way today and love to share our delightful home in paradise with others. It's perfect!
What makes this Condo unique
You have it all here! The ocean and pool and a beach are all only steps away. If you need something from the store it's two minutes drive up the hill to great groceries and restaurants. We are less than 1/2 mile to a great snorkeling park which is manned by lifeguards, has bathrooms, parking and rental equipment if you want or need it and there's even BBQ's and outdoor shower with a vending truck for some tasty 'junk' food.

Lovely 2 story, 2bath 2 bedroom with both bedrooms upstairs, very close to the ocean.
No central A/C but does have a/c floor unit in main bedroom, which we never used as it cooled off enough at night and used the ceiling and floor fans.
Thank you so much for being such nice and responsible guests. Thanks, too, for sharing your impressions of our unit - we love it there and are happy when our guests enjoy their stay, too. With much mahalo, Sandy K.
Beautiful Property and Helpful Owner
We arrived late and realized we had no entry info. The owner was friendly and helpful even though it was quite late and she’d already sent us the info! We’d been travelling for a month with little ones and with so many different reservations we were disorganized. The townhouse is adorable, immaculate and situated in a gorgeous complex with a great pool. It’s right on the water (the complex, not this particular unit). We could walk from the patio to view the sunset every night on the dark lava rock. My only complaint was that I had booked the place because it said it had air conditioning. It did have an AC unit it one room upstairs that you needed a code to access and pay $10 a day for. It did the job for that room, although we didn’t have the code the first night, but it didn’t cool the rest of the place. For us it was uncomfortably hot and it meant driving around so our baby could nap. Apparently most people in Hawaii enjoy this heat lol!! I think the ad should be more clear as to the AC situation otherwise I’d rate the property as 5 star. Cleanest unit we’ve ever stayed in. Cleaner than most hotels too!
Fabulous location for snorkelers
The place was great:comfortable, good location, agreable resort. I’ll echo most of previous reviewers: the place is well stocked of convenient supplies and beachware; the blind-type windows does marvel to let the ocean breeze in, as well as the sound of birds and waves (no need to plug in the aircon); kids loved the pool for a quick dip as dinner was being prepared. The location is awesome for snorkelers, either from the shoreline access within the property (though surf could be treacherous) or from the nearby (but overcrowded) kanaluu beach. Sunsets are striking from the property beach access. Really had a wonderfull week.
After a hiccup with check in all went well condo had everything we needed. Bed very comfy and resort quiet. Saw lots of turtles in the small beach next to resort Best to have a vehicle to get places overall a very relaxing stay
Great spot-especially if you have kids!
The property had everything you would want - it was well stocked with supplies, the kitchen was set up to make meals, and everything was clean. It was great being a corner unit so there was a little "yard" area where we could sit outside and walk around in the yard. The condo is right near the pool, which we went to almost everyday. We have a toddler and the zero entry pool area was amazing for her to be independent in the pool. Right across the parking lot (about twenty yards), you can go and sit on the rock wall and drink your coffee in the morning and watch the ocean waves. There are beach chairs, boogie boards, beach toys, towels, and beach shade things to use. There is a little beach about 50 yards away that you can go explore. It's near Kahalu'u Beach and the location worked out well for us. The owner was super helpful and communicated with us whenever we needed anything.
The only think I would let you know is that if you go in the summer months, it does get hot. I am personally OK with hotter temperatures so it was fine, but most properties in Hawai'i do not have AC. There is an AC unit you can use in the master bedroom for a small fee if you absolutely need it.
This condo had everything we needed and more - will definitely be back here again in the future when we come back to Kona!
Last trip to Hawaii for us.
Plenty room for the 3 of us. Very hot 87 some days. Portable air-conditioner upstairs but extra charge if you use it. Need a better house cleaning service. Beautiful sunsets, beach, and walk to best snorkel beach on the island. Very friendly owner.
Thank you so much for your FOUR star feedback. My apologies on the weather being warmer than usual or expected. Thanks, too, for being such a responsible guest. I know you said it's your last time to Kona but if you do come back I'd be delighted to have you and would welcome any direct feedback on housekeeping so I can follow up specifically; I haven't heard any negative comments about current cleaning person but I'll double check anyway. And, yes, we do charge extra ($10 day ) to cover air-conditioning - it's crazy expensive to use electricity in Hawaii and folks typically leave AC on without worry so we just want that expense to be optional and covered when desired by a specific guest only. Again, thanks for being such a nice guest.
In addition to all the other fun stuff our townhouse is ideally located for visiting the Kona coffee plantations in nearby Holualoa, traveling to Volcanoes Nat'l Park, experiencing boating excursions off the Kailua-Kona pier, shopping at outdoor markets or taking a tour to the top of Mauna Kea and visiting the observatory, And it's only 3 minutes drive to Kahuluu State Park (aptly known as Turtle Beach) where you can snorkel and swim with the turtles and beautiful tropical fish, The park has multiple bathrooms, showers and vendors that sell food and rent snorkel and beach gear. And finally, the condo owner/s are avid Kona and Big Island fans and we love to share our knowledge and experience of the Big Island with visitors. We can help guide you on activities, transportation, etc.. Give us a call!!
