Imagine being on a lava point jutting into the surf surrounded by beautiful views! You can relax on the 3rd floor private Lanai (balcony) and drift off to sleep to the sound of the waves. Or you can drink your favorite beverage and watch spinner dolphins and whales in the distance. Or look down the coast were the green and brown palms trees meet the blue and white surf.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the ocean breeze and gorgeous views. The layout is romantic, with Japanese Shoji doors opened to expose the queen-size bed. From the master bedroom, the view is only of the ocean. The cable TV is viewable from either the living room or can be rotated to be viewed from the bed.

The second bedroom, private with a set of twin beds (convertible to a king bed if needed), also has a view of the ocean and has its own private bathroom.

The kitchen, stocked with everything you need except your groceries, is equipped to handle your gourmet meals and your blended tropical drinks.

The living room has comfortable seating, large screen LCD cable TV, wireless Internet access, Network Printer, DVD player, CD player, radio, movies, books, games and an excellent Big Island guide book.

For your convenience, there is a new washer and dryer, and all the linens and things you need everyday.

About Monika

We are very hard working people who like to take a nice vacation break in beautiful places like the Big Island of Hawaii. In comparison to a hotel stay we much more prefer spending our precious vacation time in a condo – especially a spectacular condo that has a private setting like this one. We just purchased this little slice of heaven and love to share it with our guests.

We strive to make your stay one of your most memorable vacations. The Kailua-Kona area of the Big Island offers more than you can imagine: From a very active island vacation to a quiet romantic time. Whatever you choose, it will be a nice break from a busy mainland life style.

We hope you value your time off as we do and will consider spending it as a guest in this spectacular condo with views and convenience not available anywhere else on planet!

Why Monika chose Kailua-Kona

For a surprise 50th birthday vacation we rented this unit in Alii Villas and totally fell in love with it. Everything else we looked at didn’t even come close to the beauty, setting, views and privacy of this condo. The complex is beautifully landscaped and maintained, there is a clean well maintained swimming pool for the days you don’t want to master the ocean waves and a convenient BBQ is for “grill-master” dining. Or just sit out on the very private lanai. We knew this was what we wanted.

Alii Villas is very conveniently located one mile from downtown Kona... great for shopping, restaurants, and night spots. We can walk into town in just 15 minutes. A Farmer's Market has a great selection of tropical fruit, vegetables and souvenirs all at good prices. Best of all, the people are wonderful. Every day, you will find the wide bicycle/walking paths along Alii Drive active with many friendly folks.

All activities including snorkeling, surfing, swimming, outrigger canoeing and shopping are minutes away. In addition, Volcanoe National Park is amazing too, as is all of the Big Island.

The overwhelming reason we bought unit 334 of Alii Villas was for its location... absolutely the best. One unit from the ocean and on the third floor, it is very private. There is no direct hot western sun to overheat the condo. The unit is on a point so views from every window are literally “to the horizon”. The large lanai offers lounging, eating and reading with only the sound of the ocean. There are no human noises... no pool below or street noise... just the stereo sound from the ocean on both sides of the condo. Condos this close to the ocean are not built anymore. This is the ultimate in oceanfront!

In addition to spectacular views the condo is naturally air conditioned by the ocean breezes. The point location means all the air is conditioned by the ocean...perfect temperature! Open the windows and there is a perfect cross breeze too.

We love this place!

What makes this condo unique

Again, location, location, location! Being one unit from the ocean end and on the top floor makes it a very private and quiet setting. There is only one other couple sharing the third floor. Amenities within the condo make your outings even more enjoyable. You will find among other things beach chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gear, a cooler and a travel guide to point out the best places to go.

Every activity including surfing, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, outrigger canoeing, kayaking, beach relaxing are literally from right in front of the condo (snorkeling, swimming and fishing access right below the lanai in the inlet seen in the photos).

In addition to being mesmerized by the beautiful ocean waves just below the lanai, short trips to the markets or walks up and down Alii Drive make staying here as convenient as one could imagine. Trips around the island to Volcano National Park or Hilo with its lush green gardens are easily accessible from this condo.

Guest Bedroom: Two Twin Beds are new and comfortable and can be put together into a King if needed (let us know). Views from this bedroom are of Kona Bay. In addition, air flows through the condo providing natural, fresh air 'conditioning'. Both bedrooms have fans too!

Note: There is no A/C but a wonderful ocean cross breeze occurs when the front door and lanai doors are open (with the screen doors closed). We find it very pleasant. The unit is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator. Normally this is not a problem for people in good health. Phone, W-Fi internet, printer/fax/copier, Cooking Utensils, Linens, hair dryer, iron, games, books, binoculars, gas BBQ (shared). We also provide two sets of snorkel gear, two boogie boards, cooler, beach chairs and umbrellas as well as beach towels... everything one could need for a wonderful 'Big Island' experience!

Would love to stay forever.

We enjoyed this condo and location very much. The view from the condo is really pretty. We saw yellow tang, sea turtles and dolphins from the lanai. When the snorkel boats park out in the ocean is when you'll notice the dolphins swimming and jumping out of the water. We love the little geckos that visit too! We enjoyed exploring the lava rock and tide pools beneath the complex and seeing all sorts of fish and crabs in them. The overall condo is really bright and relaxing. The condo grounds are really pretty, with lovely landscaping and beautiful flowers all over. The pool and grill area are really nice as well. We enjoyed morning walks to Green Flash Coffee shop for smoothies, bagels and Kona coffee. Everyone on the island is so friendly. We also walked to a couple public access shore points that we had fun exploring. The VOG was pretty heavy when we were there so sadly we didn't see any Kona sunsets but that is no fault of the condo-owners and I've heard it's finally cleared up since we arrived home last week. The bed was ***super soft*** however, so if you have back issues, you may want to consider that. We would definitely consider renting this unit again for our next visit to the Big Island.

Awesome location

Condo was clean and well appointed. Walking distance to downtown Kona and right on the ocean. We enjoyed falling asleep on the lanai listening to the waves crash on the shore.

Perfect homebase for exploring the island.

Alii Villas #334

What a wonderful place and what great owners. We were two couples vacationing for 10 days, arriving Jan. 29, 2018. The place was spotless when we arrived, the directions provided were thorough and clear, and everything was exactly as shown in the photos online. There is a delightful little deli about a football field away from the parking lot, and it's about a 5 minute drive into town. The other residents were quiet and friendly, and we even got to know the groundskeeping crew. And we fell asleep to the sound of ocean waves every night, then enjoyed the beautiful view from the lanai each morning at breakfast. Joseph and Monika were a pleasure to deal with. On the second day of our stay, we had a minor plumbing issue (nothing to do with the condition of the unit - it was more an act of God thing) and I notified Joseph via email. It was repaired the following day while we were out taking in the sights. Through the booking process, during our stay, and after we returned and inquired about the return of our security deposit, we always received a prompt response. The deposit was mailed out within 5 days after we arrived home. We have absolutely no complaints. I would absolutely recommend this spot and these owners to anyone looking for a Big Island vacation. Clean, all the comforts of home and a beautiful view of the ocean!

Took advantage of the barbecues and the pool. With a short drive to the main area of Kona we were in the area of restaurants, the local market other shops offering all those of merchandise. Costco and Walmart are close by for grocery shopping. I was impressed with the knowledge that the island of Hawaii has banned the use of plastic bags which is a big step toward helping to protect the environment. Overall I found my experience A1 and thoroughly enjoyable.

Listen to the waves

Staying at this Alii Villas condo with a close-up view of Pacific ocean waves breaking on the black volcanic rocks was ideal. Its location right outside of Kailua-Kona gave us lots of easy access to all that the town had to offer in terms of eating out, proximity to tours and other events, strolling around the market and stores, etc. We were fortunate to be able to stay here for 11 days in July 2017 which gave us lots of great opportunities to enjoy the sunny side of the Big Island and to use this as our home base for exploring most of the island. (If you want to explore Hilo or Kilauea and the volcano side of the island you should also plan to stay on the eastern side for a few days. It is too far for daily trips and having time to do much while there.)

One of the best features of this condo was the lanai which was a great place to relax or eat outside while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Sleeping at night was wonderful with the sliding doors wide open for breezes and the sound of crashing waves. The condo was well-equipped for cooking and eating and we were pleased with the grill set-up next to the pool which we used on multiple occasions. We also used the beach paraphernalia provided such as beach chairs, towels and beach mat, cooler, and snorkeling gear. Umbrella and boogie board was there but not used by us. Overall the condo was well-equipped for our needs and was a relaxing and pleasant place to stay. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy visiting the Big Island.
