This place was wonderful. Listening to the waves was very peaceful. It was quiet and relaxing. Was able to do practice my yoga on the balcony. It was clean and well maintained. Had all your kitchen basics. My only issue was that the stove needed an update and living room cushions could use some sprucing up. Overall, a fantastic stay.
Lava and the surf meet UNDER your balcony! Location vg....10-15 mins from our restaurants, Target, luau and two different pickleball courts/groups.Host very open and communicative...
Love how you can hear and see the ocean from all the winodws, including the two bedrooms. Love how the condo was equipped with everything you could possibly need, fully stocked kitchen, cooler, snorkel and fins, beach chairs, etc. Love how big the lanai was with a perfect ocean view.

Thank you for your kind words. We do our best to keep everything as nice as possible. We are happy when people like yourself can enjoy them.
With much Aloha!

Great location! Minor items that should be addressed are more zip lock and kitchen garbage bags in order to get rid of food waste and garbage on a daily basis (required in this climate to keep pests away). Other than that, it was all good. Would stay at this unit in the future.

We are very happy you were using the zip lock bags as this is important. Although, I don't think you need to empty the garbage every day, but that may depend on how many people are there and what you eat.
If you needed more bags, you should have called the on-island contact person. They could have given you some more.
However, the supplies we provide are to get you started, not intended to last the entire stay. We are not a hotel. It says that in our arrival notes.
In any case, so sorry your expectations were not met.
We have stayed in many places along Ali'i Drive, and this unit is the best for value and a spectacular view. The large lanai (seats 6) looks straight down to the surf, with a panoramic view to the south. It's furnished comfortably, with lots of cooking staples in the kitchen. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. We'll be back.

The owners were very helpful and we never had to talk to the property manager. The place was very nice, comfortable, and clean. I did not have to rewash anything in the kitchen. The lanai and view was wonderful and we used it a lot. We did a lot of walking and driving. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on that.
The owners were super helpful snd the property was great! Beautiful views of the ocean, and the sound of the waves put us to sleep each night. I highly recommend staying at this property. You’ll love it!

This spacious 2-bdrm condo was perfect for our 10-day trip to Kona. It was clean, well-appointed and well maintained. And its location! To be any closer to the water, we'd have to be on a boat! The large furnished balcony was like an extra room, from which we could enjoy morning coffee and stunning sunsets. Although not air conditioned, there were multiple ceiling fans and a massive floor fan that kept things cool.Overall this is a fantastic home base for a trip to Kailua-Kona.

Thank you so much for your kind and accurate review. We are happy you could enjoy our place as much as we do. Hope you had a blast at the Kona Ironman too!
Mahalo Nui Loa!
We had a lovely stay! Beautiful lanai to spend hours on in the early morning waiting for everyone else to wake up (4 hour time difference). Had everything we needed. The pool was wonderful and the location was perfect for us as we like being far enough away from the main area's hustle and bustle but close enough for quick trips when needed. Would definitely stay again!

This condo is on the rocks right over the water, with big glass doors with screens so you can have an ocean breeze and listen to the waves all night. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the kitchen was stocked with spices and oils, so it was easy to cook without purchasing too many items. There are moray eels in the tide pools on the rocks. We loved it!

Being "right on the ocean" was amazing. The sound of the waves and being able to see whales from the deck is surreal. We will book again!

Oceanfront condo that is well taken care of! Enjoyed listening to the waves and being right by the ocean. This year we didn’t make it to the pool but enjoyed the lanai for reading and whale watching! Mahalo!!

About the host

We are very hard working people who like to take a nice vacation break in beautiful places like the Big Island of Hawaii. In comparison to a hotel stay we much more prefer spending our precious vacation time in a condo – especially a spectacular condo that has a private setting like this one. We just purchased this little slice of heaven and love to share it with our guests.
We strive to make your stay one of your most memorable vacations. The Kailua-Kona area of the Big Island offers more than you can imagine: From a very active island vacation to a quiet romantic time. Whatever you choose, it will be a nice break from a busy mainland life style.
We hope you value your time off as we do and will consider spending it as a guest in this spectacular condo with views and convenience not available anywhere else on planet!
Why they chose this property
For a surprise 50th birthday vacation we rented this unit in Alii Villas and totally fell in love with it. Everything else we looked at didn’t even come close to the beauty, setting, views and privacy of this condo. The complex is beautifully landscaped and maintained, there is a clean well maintained swimming pool for the days you don’t want to master the ocean waves and a convenient BBQ is for “grill-master” dining. Or just sit out on the very private lanai. We knew this was what we wanted.
Alii Villas is very conveniently located one mile from downtown Kona... great for shopping, restaurants, and night spots. We can walk into town in just 15 minutes. A Farmer's Market has a great selection of tropical fruit, vegetables and souvenirs all at good prices. Best of all, the people are wonderful. Every day, you will find the wide bicycle/walking paths along Alii Drive active with many friendly folks.
All activities including snorkeling, surfing, swimming, outrigger canoeing, pickleball and shopping are minutes away. In addition, Volcanoe National Park is amazing too, as is all of the Big Island.
The overwhelming reason we bought unit 334 of Alii Villas was for its location... absolutely the best. One unit from the ocean and on the third floor, it is very private. There is no direct hot western sun to overheat the condo. The unit is on a point so views from every window are literally “to the horizon”. The large lanai offers lounging, eating and reading with only the sound of the ocean. There are no human noises... no pool below or street noise... just the stereo sound from the ocean on both sides of the condo. Condos this close to the ocean are not built anymore. This is the ultimate in oceanfront!
In addition to spectacular views the condo is naturally air conditioned by the ocean breezes. The lava point location means all the air is conditioned by the ocean...perfect temperature! Open the windows and there is a perfect cross breeze too.
We love this place!
What makes this property unique
Again, location, location, location! Being one unit from the ocean end and on the top floor makes it a very private and quiet setting. There is only one other couple sharing the third floor. Amenities within the condo make your outings even more enjoyable. You will find among other things beach chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gear, a cooler and a travel guide to point out the best places to go.
Every activity including surfing, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, outrigger canoeing, kayaking, beach relaxing are literally from right in front of the condo (snorkeling, swimming and fishing access right below the lanai in the inlet seen in the photos).
In addition to being mesmerized by the beautiful ocean waves just below the lanai, short trips to the markets or walks up and down Alii Drive make staying here as convenient as one could imagine. Trips around the island to Volcano National Park or Hilo with its lush green gardens are easily accessible from this condo.
