This wonderfully located house benefits from being within walking distance of the picturesque village of Stratton and a short drive (5 min) to stunning beaches of Bude - it is the best of both the countryside and the seaside! We guarantee a peaceful stay with views across the surrounding fields, a lovely decking area and plenty of nature surrounding the property.

In the historic old market village of Stratton, there is a village shop -which is open daily 7 days a week from 8am - 6pm (apart from Sundays only the morning) - and two pubs. If you fancy popping into Bude and visiting its beaches and shops, it will take you approx. 30 minutes walking or 5 minutes by car.

The accommodation comprises of one king-sized bedroom, one triple bunk room (no adults on top bunk) and one single room, all with black out blinds/curtains. All bedrooms are bright and comfortable. Both larger rooms have space for a travel cot if required. The kitchen and sitting room both have TVs and USB plug sockets. The kitchen includes a microwave, 4 slice toaster, kettle and filter coffee machine.

The secluded outside decking area benefits from sun all day and includes and table and chairs, an outdoor sofa and BBQ, surrounded by a small lawn. There are also 3 off-road parking spaces.

Lovely house with thoughtful touches

Lovely property - felt like home from home. Really appreciate the thoughtful touches like the cot being put up and the Christmas tree glowing for our arrival. Clean and really nicely decorated. Would stay again!

Lovely house in good location

We spent a week at this lovely property which is at a great location with a short drive to the beach. The house is very clean, comfortable and lovingly decorated. The host live nearby and were always available to answer any questions. We had a lovely stay!

Wonderful Windrush

We spent a fabulous week at Windrush in Stratton. Emma and Scott are great hosts and we’re on hand if any questions. The property itself was so inviting, spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything needed for a family stay. Stratton itself is a gorgeous little village with a great little grocery shop, a butchers and a couple of pubs. It’s about a 5 minute drive into Bude, a lovely town with a number of different shops, cafes, and a gorgeous beach where we spent most of our time. We made use of Scott’s kind discount for surf lessons which we thouroughly enjoyed! It was a great location which we did do some travelling from. We visited Port Isaac, Polzeath, Boscastle, Tintagel Castle. All approximately 40 minutes away. We did also take a trip to Lizard Point, a 2 hour drive, absolutely worth it and stopped at Fistral Beach, Newquay on our way back. We all loved our week in Cornwall and waking up in and coming back to “Windrush” at the end of our day. Thanks Emma and Scott. The Hopkins’ x

half term break with kids

We loved staying at the property. It was perfectly located, close enough to Bude but in a peaceful location with great views. Other locations such as Port Isaac and Rock are all within a hour and easy to visit in a day. The property was very comfortable and the outside terrace was great in the sunshine. Emma and Scott were great hosts and we loved being able to hire body boards during our stay.

Bude Revisited

My wife Angela and I were looking for a place to stay that was close to Bude, but not in the centre as we wanted both the coast and country experience to help relive some our joint holiday memories. Emma and Scott’s house looked ideal and proved to be just that. A beautifully renovated house at the edge of Stratton village with country views and only a 10 minute drive to the beaches and shops of Bude. The house was immaculate on our arrival and Emma was an attentive and gracious host, interested in what we planned to do, even helping with the best places to eat and visit. I would certainly not hesitate to stay again or recommend to anyone else. Thanks Emma and Scott.

Brilliant place to stay!!

We have been regulars to this area over the years and have to say this was a truly excellent property and location. It was spotlessly clean and had everything in it a family could need. Emma was extremely helpful indeed and made our stay here very relaxing. Another bonus was being able to borrow surf and bodyboards from Emma's husband Scott who runs the surf school on Summerleaze Beach. All in all a great holiday, and thoroughly recommend this property for a stay!

Holiday in Bude

We had a lovely stay in August, from the start to the end Emma was very helpful. The house was beauitful and clean and decor was lovely. Set off a main road so lovely and quiet but easy to reach to all destinations. We really enjoyed our stay and will be visiting again soon. Highly recommended x

My husband Scott owns and runs local surf school Bude Surfing Experience and is a part-time photographer. I am a trained primary teacher and tutor, while also helping out with the surf school and managing our lovely home. We have two small children and live in the adjoining property, however, we keep ourselves to ourselves!

The minute I walked into this property, when we were viewing various houses in the area, I instantly fell in love with view across the fields and all the wildlife I could see. Some houses just give you a good feeling - and this is one of them!!
