Borgo dei Fondi is a beautiful late-18th-century farmhouse (already recorded in the first land registry of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany in 1812), consisting of three well-separated apartments with independent entrances: “La Loggia,” “Il Forno – First Floor,” and “Il Forno – Ground Floor.”

Located within the charming Borgo dei Fondi, Il Forno is a 75 mÂČ apartment, ideal for up to 4 guests, combining modern comfort with rustic character.
It occupies the first floor of a traditional Tuscan stone farmhouse, with its own private entrance and direct access to the large garden.

Lovely serene accommodations

The place and accommodations were lovely! Very quiet, and in a beautiful country setting. We did, however, find Borgo dei Fondi a little bit distant from convenient services such as restaurants and any shopping. Our host, David, was most accommodating and helpful, and willing to assist us in any way he possibly could.

This was the first time for our family to use VRBO, and because of our stay at Borgo dei Fondi, we will definitely use it again. We arrived in the dark, got lost finding the property, and owners Simona and Vittoria met us in town and led us to the apartment. They got us settled in by telling us everything we needed to know about the place. We met David the next day who was most friendly, helpful and accommodating. We stayed in 'La Loggia' with our two teenage sons and thoroughly enjoyed our week there. Although it was cold and sometimes rainy, we took long walks outside and spent many hours just relaxing. A highlight for our younger son was the Siena vs. Naples football match we attended with the tickets Simona had purchased for us before our arrival! It was easy to drive into Siena and Florence and other nearby towns like the adorable San Gimignano. If you're looking for a place that's just a little 'out of the way', this is it! I can only imagine how lovely it would be in the spring or summer when one could explore the surrounding grounds or lounge by the pool soaking in views of the Tuscan countryside. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and will be looking forward to the day my family can return!

Wonderful Experience

This property met my "American vision" of a Tuscan farmhouse. The farmhouse is beautiful, and was within 1-2 hours of all of the places that we wanted to visit. David is delightful and very helpful. The only challenge was the long, dirt road leading to the farmhouse. It is in very poor condition, ,i.e., many deep ruts and bushes that scratch your vehicle no matter how carefully you drive. It is best to rent a SUV versus a sedan. I highly recommend this rental property for the ultimate Tuscan experience.

Borgo die Fondi is located in a stunning setting and is a very comfortable, relaxing retreat.

Our stay at Borgo dei Fondi was wonderfully relaxing. After daily sightseeing and intentionally getting lost in the Tuscan hill towns, we wanted to return to this lovely house and setting every evening to prepare our own dinners and enjoy the sunset from here rather then eating out. The apartment was clean and comfortable; the grounds are stunning and welcoming; and we can't say enough about the kindness and hospitality of our hosts. We initially thought we might be too remotely located, but soon found being only 15 minutes from Sienna (groceries, sightseeing, restaurants) was ideal for our family of four. The quiet nights at this house were welcomed after the busy and crowded days in hills towns, Florence, and Sienna. If we return to this area of Italy we would definitely stay in Borgo dei Fondi again.

Loin de tout, prĂšs de tout...

Une ferme restaurée, en pleine nature toscane mais à seulement 10km de Sienne, que demander de plus... L'appartement du premier étage est spacieux et bien équipé (seule la douche mériterait un petit lifting). Les espaces repas extérieurs bien étudiés offrent l'intimité recherchée. La piscine est une "vraie" piscine, pas juste un bac. On se sent vraiment bien dans ce cadre magnifique. Le point qui semble faire débat : le cÎté isolé des logements. Effectivement, il faut prendre la voiture pour les plupart des déplacements; c'est un peu logique pour de l'agri-tourisme. Sienne est à 10 minutes, le coeur du Chianti à 1 heure, la plage de Follonica à 1H30 environ. Les 2 kilomÚtres de strade bianche sont le (petit) prix à payer pour profiter du grand calme. L'accueil de David a été excellent, ses conseils judicieux. Pour tout cela, c'est une destination que nous conseillons vivement ! PS : Amis cyclistes, sur route ou en VTT, il y a vraiment de quoi s'amuser ; )

Eine traumhafte Urlaubsoase und doch mittendrin!

Wir verbrachten als Familie mit zwei Jugendlichen 14 Tage an diesem schönen Ort. Borgo dei Fondo bietet Ruhe und Natur, eine geschmackvoll ausgestattete Wohnung und gleichzeitig ist es der ideale Ausgangsort fĂŒr AusflĂŒge nach Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Florenz, in den SĂŒden der Toskana oder ans Meer. Die netten Gastgeber unterstĂŒtzen mit Hinweisen bezĂŒglich Restaurants, Ausflugszielen oder Einkaufshinweisen (z.B. Pecorino direkt vom Erzeuger). Abends konnten wir draußen in die Milchstrasse schauen und den Zikaden lauschen - echt magisch, hoffentlich bald wieder!

Wonderful, relaxing place

We spent two weeks as family in Borgo dei Fondi. It was a wonderful time. We enjoyed this palmful place restful place that was also a good base for our several excursions to Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Florence, to the south of Tuscany and to the sea. We got lots of helpful recommendations from our hosts for restaurants, places to go, sports and occasions to buy for example Pecorino. Very nice was also the pool and the gazebo. At night we saw the Milky Way, very visited by a fox and listened to myriads of zymase. We would really like to come again.

Location trÚs bien placée et trÚs calme, proche de Sienne et d'autres villages toscans superbes. Excellent accueil de David (et du reste de la famille !), de trÚs bons conseils ! L'appartement (Il Fornio Rez de chaussée) a été refait à neuf avec beaucoup de goût. Il est fonctionnel et l'équipement (cuisine, salle de bains, literie) est de trÚs bonne qualité. Nos enfants ont dormi dans le canapé, trÚs confortable. Belle piscine bien entretenue. Une excellente adresse donc, que nous recommandons vivement

un petit coin de paradis

Un petit coin de paradis au coeur de la nature! Appartement spacieux, trÚs propre et bien équipé. Les propriétaires sont accueillants et donnent de bons conseils sur la région (Restos, magasins,etc). La piscine est magnifique et entourée d'un beau jardin. Sienne est à 10mn en voiture. Un cadre sublime que nous avons eu du mal à quitter!

Beautiful house in Tuscany

Warm welcome by David with cold drinks biscuits and a bottle of wine! David gave us all good tips and took his time to make us comfortable. The house has everything you need nice pool with sunbeds. All spotless clean. The check out by Simona was also very warm and she surprised us with a beautiful picture ofvthe house. You feel more then welcome in this beautiful property.

Ein Traumurlaub im perfekten Haus

Wir hatten einen perfekten Urlaub in der Toskana. Schon bei der Anreise auf der sehr atemberaubenden Anfahrtsstraße und dem tollen Empfang durch den Vermieter fing unser Urlaub bereits sehr gut an. David, unser netter Vermieter, hat uns gleich am ersten Tag sehr viele schöne und sehenswerte Tipps und Ausflugsziele in der NĂ€he, aber auch die etwas weiter entfernten Besichtigungsorte, genannt und beschrieben. Die Unterkunft Borgo dei fondi ist zu unserem kleinen Traumaufenthalt geworden. Die Ruhe, die schöne angelegte Lichtung inklusive der Fincaanlage mitten im Wald, die vielen zahlreichen Tiere, die wir sogar nachts hören konnten und die zahlreichen Vogelarten, wie der Wiedehopf, haben unseren Urlaub perfekt gemacht. Nach den Ausflugszielen, konnten wir den schönen Pool genießen und in unserem Außenbereich mit einem Glas Wein und Antipasti den Abend ausklingen lassen. Siena ist keine 20 Minuten entfernt und schon ist man Mitten in der Stadt am Piazza del Campo. Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Volterra und Pienza sind weitere Ausflugsziele, die man von dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft tĂ€glich besichtigen konnte. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der NĂ€he und man erhĂ€lt dort alles fĂŒr den tĂ€glichen Bedarf. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr weiterempfehlen und werden sicher bald wiederkommen. Udo K.

Beautiful Countryside. Good Price. Nice Choice Ov

We appreciated the beautiful property of Borgo de Fondi. We stayed in the La Loggia apartment area with our 3 teenage children. It was a nice visit and a nice accommodation. We found a walking trail that led us on a very interesting exploration of the area. The pool was beautiful and the beds were comfortable. The price was right and overall it was a very nice stay. Vittoria and her father are lovely and genuinely welcomed us to have a good stay. We met up with them in Siena so that we could follow them to the property. They do not live there, so once you arrive, you are on your own. The signage to the location is very unclear and even the GPS coordinates in a GPS are unclear. Our GPS directed us to the location by taking up a dirt road that is impassable, so we were on the right road, but unable to drive to the property from that part of the road. I would say that the main reason to choose this property would be price combined with the rural countryside feel. We did have to drive for everything, and expected that would be the case. I wish we would have known that the rooms at La Loggia are very dark. The photos on the website are beautiful and brightly lit, but in reality, they are quite dark. The water in the kitchen runs through a filter that is difficult to control. The bathroom is tiny and old, so it helped to remember that we were in a very rural area and paying a fair price. It was a bit difficult for us to be in such a rural area without anyone onsite to provide direction in person. Overall, it's a pretty property, very dark inside, and very rural, but it's a good price and beautiful countryside.

The house, garden, location and apartments are beautiful and very quiet. Vittoria was a charming hostess, she checked us in and explained everything, gave us maps, tips and answered our all our questions. We had a great stay and would highly recommend borgo dei fondi: Great hosts, tranquil and beautiful apartment/ garden and pool. Great location, 15 Mins drive to Siena, 1 hour to Florence and many other places of interest a short drive away. Thanks Vittoria and family Landi!!

Ein Ort zum TrÀumen !

Der "Borgo die Fondi" ist ein Paradies fĂŒr alle, die Einsamkeit, Ruhe und viel Natur suchen . Das von den liebenswerten Vermietern mit viel Geschmack renovierte und eingerichtete Haus hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Es befindet sich auf einem riesigen GrundstĂŒck, das ebenfalls sehr schön gestaltet ist und auf dem jeder Gast sein "eigenes " PlĂ€tzchen finden kann. GewöhnungsbedĂŒrftig ist lediglich die 1,7 km lange Zufahrt auf einem unbefestigten Weg, aber das vergisst man, wenn man angekommen ist! Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind etwa 15 min mit dem Auto entfernt, die Innenstadt von Siena eine knappe halbe Stunde. In der nĂ€heren Umgebung gibt es viele SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten, und die Vermieter geben viele Tipps dazu. Insgesamt einfach toll !

Perfect Place in Tuscany

We had an incredible visit in Tuscany, and found this wonderful farmhouse to be the perfect combination of romantic seclusion, and a home base for spectacular Tuscan destinations. Sienna is beautiful (and much less crowded than Florence) and is a very short drive. Day trips to the Chianti region and beautiful towns like Montepulchiano are fabulous (having a GPS is key and makes this navigation easy). Florence and Pisa are easy day trips as well. David and his family were the perfect hosts with great personal attention - we really enjoyed getting to know the family, and they took great care of us. Highly recommended and we can't wait to come back!

Wonderful Place

I cannot say enough about the wonderful villa and our hosts. It was a magical place to stay. The property was everything I had dreamed about when I decided to come to Italy/Tuscany. The owners were very helpful in giving us tips and directions and the place itself was fantastic, surrounded by gardens and greenery. The villa was furnished with antiques of high quality and the beds were so comfortable. The owners felt like family. I miss them already. I have already recommended this to 2 of my friends. I will definitely come back here when I return. I am already planning on my next trip back.

Tuscan bliss

If you are wanting a typically Tuscan experience for a very reasonable rental Borgo de Fondi is definitely the perfect place. While it has no 'bells and whistles' it is comfortable and charming, in an idyllic hilly woodland setting of great beauty and serenity. We occupied both apartments (5 and 2) and while we 5 were a little envious of the smaller apartment's swish kitchen, we loved our apartment. Davis and Simona were friendly, charming and informative hosts, welcoming us with wine and nibbles and checking with us during the week to make sure all was well. While this property seems isolated, it isn't! We went straight to it with a GPS, it very easy to get to Siena (we drove in twice for dinner), and it is centrally located for easy access to many lovely Tuscan towns. It is the perfect place for just chilling out, walking, or sightseeing. Hopefully next time we go it will be warm enough for us to go swimming in the beautiful pool?

Nice, but...

Lovely apartment, setting if you want solitude, close to Siena by car. BUT... this was not really as advertised. This home is about 10km off the main road, almost 2km up a dirt/gravel road with no signage. Very difficult to find, no GPS will find this house until you've already arrived. The host and his daughter were mostly very nice, gave us map of area, and tips on restaurants and location, but we and the others staying here had alot of difficulty finding it (they had to come get us in Monteriggioni and the other people circled for 3 hours). Then wanted us to park around back of property when front was far more convenient. You have only limited grace amount to use for heat/hot water and would be charged extra if you went over, gave us a hard time about an extra person they weren't expecting, and had to meet with them again to return the deposit. Seemed like alot of hassle to be in the middle of nowhere.

The Perfect Place

We had high hopes about the farmhouse from the reviews on HomeAway, and I am glad to say that they were correct - this is a fantastic place to relax and unwind, David and family went out of their way to ensure that everything we needed or wanted was available and they explained where to find the nearest market and David also located some great restaurants for us. The farmhouse was excellent - very spacious and well appointed, The pool received a workout as well. We will be very happy to go back to Il Forno the next time we are in Italy and would recommend it to our friends.
