Our log cabin with its exposed beam structure, pine walls, and log trimmed stairways provide the perfect setting for a mountain get-away. The 2,600 square foot L-shaped floor plan offers the option of two private living spaces. The main level consists of a living area, full kitchen (complete with range, dishwasher, and full sized refrigerator with ice maker), bath, utility room, and bedroom. A loft bedroom with two double beds sits above this space. The area above the garage contains a huge great room, (1,000 square feet), as well as a kitchenette and bath, plus a spiral staircase leading to another loft bedroom with two double beds. The east, south, and west walls of the great room contain an expanse of windows which provide a great view as well as catch the light you’ll enjoy for crafts, tying flies, etc. The deck off of the great room provides a spectacular view of the Rio Grande Valley. Each living area is provided with a wood burning stove. Electric heat is also available. Two water heaters help insure that your shower will be a warm one. The area joining the two legs of the house is a large triangle shaped deck facing the southwest and the San Juan Mountains. The view from the North side of the house showcases the La Garitas. Be sure to note the chimney in the great room which was constructed of amethysts and petrified wood gathered from the silver mines north of town. Our cabin is located two miles southwest of Creede, Colorado, less than one-quarter mile from the Rio Grande River.

Excellent property. Loved staying there. Will stay there again.
Very clean. Excellent location to town. Really was a fantastic place to stay.
I was somewhat familiar with the property -as my wife's family had stayed there several years ago during a summer trip. Overall, our stay was a good one, however, the sleeping arrangements were slightly misleading ("sleeps 12"). I knew from the description that we would be calling it close with 8 men. Fortunately, we had brought 2 extra blow-up mattresses to make do. The only other hitch was the door into the garage-the door knob/lock did not work properly, so we had to use the quick release to the large garage door to avoid locking someone in the garage.
Great Creede Getaway
We enjoyed the convenience to town, and the river access was perfect. The cabin was roomy and comfortable and we loved watching the hummers on the deck. Robin was easy to work with. Thanks for a great visit!
We’re so glad you enjoyed the property and hope that you’ll book your with broken arrow again
The overall experience was great. Just a couple of inconvienciences.
The place was really beautiful. The pictures however were a little deceiving. I did not realize there was an entire separate apartment upstairs. The down stairs living room was very small. It worked for us but might not if someone had a lot of people staying at the house. The large livingroom is upstairs. The staircase to the loft bedrooms above the kitchen are Very Inconvienient, even dangerous. There is no handrail for the bottom set of steps going to the landing. The steps are much higher than they should be. Steps are supposed to be 7 3/4 inches high. The bottom step is 9 inches high. The others are 8 inches high. Without a handrail this is very difficult to get up and down, especially for older people with knee problems. The headroom above the lower set of steps is very low. If you are not careful you whack your head on the beam across the steps. My husband was a carpenter so he really noticed the funky stairs. Trying to carry anything up or down stairs was hard without a handrail. Otherwise, the house was great. The view was incredible and it was so quiet. They even had swallows nesting under the eves of the house and they were fun to watch them feed the babies. I would recommend this house, but the owners really need to put up a handrail on the bottom set of stairs.
We're so glad that your overall experience at the property was great.
This is the first time we've had a guest have any issue with the stairs in the house. We'll consider the logistics of installing a hand rail.
Holiday Hideaway was perfect!!! We are already planning our next trip that includes Holiday Hideaway
It was along time coming but we finally made it back to Creede. Holiday Hideaway was such a prefect place to stay....near Creede....near fishing...etc. The deck was perfect....just to sit
and take in the mountains on all sides while the sun went down. Can't wait to return. Praying for rain.
Spacious, clean and well stocked!
My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. We had plenty of room for each little family. In the evenings there was plenty of room on the deck or one of the family rooms to all be together. We would stay here in the future!
