About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathroom, Sleep 6

Nestled in the woods of the Blue Ridge at Beech Mountain, make the Dennis Den cabin your next romantic getaway or family adventure.

Whether you are coming up for skiing in the winter, hiking and biking in the spring, experiencing the magic of Wizard of Oz in the summer or taking in the changing of the leaves during the fall. This charming and modern log cabin is the perfect four season destination.

The Dennis Den is off the beaten path but it’s just a quick 5 minute drive to the slopes, restaurants, the free sledding hill and the general store or a 2 minute walk to the Upper and Lower Pond Creek Trail for a nice hike. The cabin is also convenient to Banner Elk (10 minutes), Grandfather Mountain (20 Minutes), Boone and Blowing Rock (35 minutes).

• Cozy up by the Fireplace – don’t worry about chopping firewood, just cozy up to the thermostatically controlled gas fireplace and enjoy the views from the den

• Relax Outdoors – enjoy a book or beverage on the wrap around porch, take in the beautiful rhododendron, roast s’mores on the fire pit or BBQ your favorite meal on the charcoal grill.

• Enjoy the Wildlife – see the deer that meander by the cabin nearly every morning and evening, listen for the chipmunks that scurry through the leaves or simply enjoy the birds that frequent the woods.

• Modern Conveniences – you don’t have to lose touch with the real world because the cabin is equipped with all the modern conveniences. WiFi, Cable, Smart TV in the Den with access to Amazon, Hulu, Netflix. Upstairs bedroom has a Wii with a few games and access to Netflix.

The Dennis Den is a log cabin built in 2006 and has a split level design. The Master Bedroom with Queen Bed is on the main floor as are the Den, Dining Area, Full Bathroom and Kitchen. Upstairs is a Second Bedroom with Twin Bunk Beds, a Futon (can sleep one) and second Full Bath. With 16 foot ceilings and windows all around, the Den is great place to relax by the fireplace. Should you have extra guests, one of the sofas in Den is a pullout that can sleep 2. For those with a little one, we have also Pack-n-Play in the upstairs closet, so don’t worry about packing one for the trip.

The cabin is fully equipped with everything you’re accustomed to. There are lots of great dining choices in town but should you want to cook, the kitchen has everything you need (Keurig, oven, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, pots, pans, plates, cups and utensils). If your days ends up leaving your clothes wet or dirty, the main floor has a washer and dryer to get things ready for the next day and there’s a private parking pad can accommodate several vehicles. We provide all the linens and towels, so just bring what you need to make your stay enjoyable.

Our family has made lots and lots of memories at the Dennis Den and we’re hoping you, your family and friends will do the same.

About Rob and Gloria Dennis

We are Rob and Gloria Dennis. Our full time home is in nearby Hickory, NC where we live with our two daughters Alyssa and Danielle. Gloria and I met when I was in the service and we've been married 26 years. We travel frequently, so we fully understand your expectations of us from a customer standpoint and we will go out of our way to exceed your expectations.

Rob and Gloria Dennis purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Rob and Gloria Dennis chose Beech Mountain

We've been coming to the mountains for years and always loved Beech Mountain, so that part of the choice was simple. We made the Dennis Den our home because we wanted a cabin (not a condo or traditional house) that was off the beaten path (and it is) but super convenient to everything (and it is).

What makes this cabin unique

We're close enough to everything but far enough off the beaten path to enjoy everything nature has to offer (woods, springs, wildlife and the works). The best part for us is we can take it all in from the comfort of the living room or go outside on the wraparound porch and take it all in. If you want a little more, walk down our street to pick up the Upper and Lower Pond Creek Trail.

Great cabin - great for small family!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin! Owners were very quick to respond to any question. House had everything we needed. It was just myself and my 2 daughters, ages 5 and 8, and was perfect size for us. Kids loved the place! Thanks again!

Cozy & efficient

  • 5 of 5

It has everything you need and things you forgot you would need. It's close enough to everything (ski resort, supermarket, restaurants, hiking trails). Already recommended it to family members who are thinking of coming up in the future.

Wonderful winter getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a few days in January during an epic arctic blast! The house was warm, easy to get to, and close to the ski resort and restaurants. It was super clean and well maintained. There were a lot of small details included in this home that made it a terrific place to stay. Kid’s games, humidifier (we’re from Florida so hallelujah for that), boot scraper, gas fireplace, TV’s with cable in every room, WiFi, huge coat rack, fully equipped kitchen, the list goes on and on. We also saw tons of deer and even filmed two bucks sparring right across the street from the house. It snowed while we were there and the plow/road service was prompt. The owners were incredibly helpful and great to work with. Highly recommend!
