About Mark Chapman
I am a business consultant, principally serving cross border financial services clients. Outside of work, family comes first and my boys, Tom, Ben and Joe respectively work in Property, Film and Professional Squash. Heather, who I have been married to for 30 years, does charity work, manages our properties and helps all of our lives run smoothly. Additionally I spend time at Tortola Sports Club, where I play squash and I work on BVI Olympic Committee and Old Government House Museum matters as the Treasurer of both organisations.
Mark Chapman purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Mark Chapman chose Road Town
The Chapman family, which is Mark (husband), Heather (wife), Tom, Ben and Joe (3 sons) have been involved with Harbour Heights for the past ten years. In 2016, we set about a renovation using Heather's talent for design and with help from the boys, we have produced an exquisite modern vacation villa.
What makes this Villa unique
Every facet of the house has been hand-picked, uniquely designed or tailor-made by one of the family members, from the chandeliers above the breakfast bar to the spectacular gourmet kitchen. We re-designed the house for Caribbean living, with no need for air conditioning, just the mountain breeze and fans in every room to circulate the air.
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
We stayed at Harbour Heights for three days after sailing in the BVI. The villa was stunning. Views of the ocean and harbor were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and spent two days at Josiah’s bay which was spectacular as we essentially had a private beach. Heather was wonderful. She met us at the Moorings and escorted us to the villa. The villa had everything you need and was well stocked. Thank you Heather and Mark for your hospitality.
Thank you Scott for your lovely review. We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay and that Harbour Heights met all your expectations. We can't thank you enough for leaving the house so beautifully clean and tidy We hope to see you again.
First with the positive - the hosts were amazing with recommendations of restaurants and advise. The house was clean and well kept with fantastic views.
However, IF you are someone that is a light sleeper and need to a cold room when you sleep consider a location with an A/C. When I booked the house I did not note that there was not an A/C. The host shared that the winds keep the house very comfortable in the evenings, which was true however, when trying to blow dry your hair the bathroom can get quite warm without AC - In addition, there are many farm animals on the island that for the most part do not sleep at night and because you have to leave the windows open for the winds it was VERY VERY hard to sleep for all of us. Lastly, the window coverings are sheer so if you want to sleep past sunrise you will find it difficult.
Thanks for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the views, the cleanliness and our help with restaurants etc.
We rebuilt the house after the hurricane and at that point we consulted with all the past tenants (it used to be a long term rental house) to ask if they had ever needed AC. The response from all 3 (each had stayed a number of years before relocating to other countries) was that far from needing AC they needed extra blankets! We therefore decided that with our vacation guests likely being people who are coming to the island for a genuine island experience, to enjoy the sunshine, sea air, breezes and island culture, even the wandering goats, we would avoid installing AC. The other upside of this is that with the cost of electricity being very high here, we are able to keep our rates very very competitive and also offer short stays, such as the two day stay you yourselves enjoyed.
VRBO allow hosts and guests to converse before booking so my recommendation would be to ask about things such as the thickness of the curtains, AC, temperature of the bathroom when blow drying hair etc before making a booking.
Harbour Heights is a delightful house with amazing views. We found it well organised and easy to access from Roadtown, it’s central location providing quick trips to Cane Garden Bay and Josiahs Bay. It’s right on the ridge road so we could get to the airport and Beef Island quickly for trips to Virgin Gorda etc.
The rooms are well furnished and nicely set up, plenty of space for our family of 5.
I highly recommend this place.
Had a wonderful time at Harbour Heights. The view alone was spectacular. The home was clean and comfortable. The pool area was set up with loungers and toys. The owner, Heather, made sure we had everything we needed--and--in fact went over and above for us.
We would definately rebook if visiting Road Town again!

Heather did a wonderful job accommodating us, going out of the way to give suggestions, driving direction, bars and restaurants. Lots of fun.
Fabulous Villa - very comfortable and close to beaches
We had a great time in this beautifully finished villa, which included all the necessary household amenities to cater for our party of eight on a week-long vacation. We spent many hours in pool, we relaxed at the nearby beaches where we were the sole inhabitants and we sampled some brilliant cuisine at the local restaurants, where the service was second to none..
Harbour Heights is situated on the 'Ridge Road', directly above Road Town and the Road Town Harbour. It's about 8 minutes to town, the new Pier Park with it's vast variety of new shops and Main Street which could be considered as 'Old Town'.
There are many beautiful beaches nearby. Trunk Bay and Rogues Bay are beautiful unspoiled beaches that are about 6 minutes from the house, the type you visualize when thinking of the Caribbean. Nothing be sand, sea, palm trees and foliage. Brewers Bay and Cane Garden Bay can be reached in about ten minutes, as can Josiah's and Lambert Beach and Little Bay.
Nearby attractions include horseback riding, swimming with the dolphins, zip lining, surfing, paddle boarding, hiking in the rain forest, movie theatre, botanic gardens, sailing, snorkeling, fishing, diving etc.
