I have worked and lived on island 5 minutes away since 1991. I surfed since 1965, also windsurf and paddle board and love to coach fellow enthusiasts. I have been active in triathlons and ski Heavenly Valley yearly.

This property is beach front affordable and quaint with only 50 units. I spend my days off watching the sunset from the beach side lawn fronting the condo. 100 steps, front door to the sand with no streets to cross.

What makes this condo unique

No crowds, laid back, beach front relaxation.

I vacationed on the beach yearly as a child with my family. I understand the children still playing in the ocean and on the beach as darkness falls.

The property was all we could have hoped for.

Being close to the beach and convenient to all areas of the island made for a terrific stay. If we have the opportunity to return this condo would be first on our list for accomodations.

Easy Access to Entire Island

Located in Kihei, this condo is clean, spacious and right on the water. You are centrally located, with easy access to Lahaina (an hr drive at most), Kihei downtown (5 mins) and Wailea (15 mins). Kahului is a mere 20 mins away. Owners are professional, easy to contact and friendly. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

Great condo with awesome beach access..

This condo is simply great. Everything is good about it. Good air-conditioning, good appliances, clean and functional bathrooms, well appointed decor, kitchen has all utensils you need. Complex (Nani Kai Hale) is very well maintained and clean. Good elevator and plenty of parking space. Beach access is simply awesome, it's right inside the complex so you don't have to cross any street. It even has a BBQ and swimming pool. WiFi is fast and strong signal.

If you think that there is a highway behind the condo (which you don't hear inside the condo) then please note that the pricing already takes that into account. If you remove the highway then this place is easily worth at least 35% more money.

It is priced well and is a very clean. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Maui Vacation

We have spent three fabulous weeks in Maui. Our condo owners Michael & Marilyn are very accommodating . The condo is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a vacation including beach towels & coolers.There is a view of the ocean from the Lanai. Although the condo backs onto a road this was not an issue for us. Our days and most of the evenings were spent enjoying the Ocean,Beach and BQ area.A short stroll along the beach brings you to a farmers market,bakery &ABC store. Situated a short drive to Wailea and Makena.A drive of approximately 30 mins to Lahaina with a chance to pull over into viewing areas to Whale watch on the way.Other guests at Nani Kia Hale were very friendly.The complex manager Ryan makes sure everything is spotless. The property sits on the lovely peaceful Sugar Beach.Thanks for sharing your home with us, we had a really great time. Our next trip is already booked.

Disappointed in condo, on highway end in need of TLC. Complex and location great though

We were dissapointed in our condo it was right on the highway very noisy and in need of TLC Did not feel clean. The complex however was very nice and well kept. Beautiful lawn right to beach, nice clean pool and nice BBQ area. The beach is beautiful. We definitely overpaid for our room. I would never book with VRBO Home away again. Even though they get a fee from renter and owner they were not helpful at all and told us there was nothing they could do if the owner was not willing to resolve issues and that they had never seen the property. We had overpaid and did not end up with what was advertised on the website. Website has since been changed.

Owner's Response: I am pretty sure this guest was confused when booking my condo. She asked for an upgrade like it was a hotel and I only own one condo. She said I misrepresented my listing when there is a picture that shows the view of the beach from the lanai that shows it is not on the beach. The condo is set back from the road with a park with coconut trees separating them. I replaced all windows with double pane glass and have a silent split ac system that has air handlers in both bedrooms and the living room. Oceanfront 2 bedrooms are $400 and I rent for $200 (not "direct" oceanfront) and I am just 100 steps from the sand. The only bookings now left in my unit are after the high season at the low season rate of $140 and the guest said that I had lowered my rates and I need to give them a refund? Resolutions: The guest wanted me to pay for a $27 cooler when there is a large cooler, small cooler and a cooler bag in the condo closet that I had to tell them about. I also gave them access to the maids locker so they could get extra towels, and the also took two extra sets of sheets. I paid for their 4 wine glasses @$26 and gave them $10 in quarters because they were complaining about going down the hall 40 feet to the laundry room as it is described on the website. They still wanted the oceanfront condo but once again I told them I only own 1 unit and the one that I referenced was booked as all were booked at high season. All pictures on my web site have not been changed. I am pretty sure that the guest booked the wrong condo when looking at vrbo. I have been renting this unit for 10 years and it is the first time that I have had a guest that was not happy with my unit. To keep the costs down I do yearly upgrades. This year I painted [I am a pro painter] base boards and walls in the living room and bathroom. I replaced one mattress with a Costco queen and up graded two quilts, bed skirts, and sheets. I also added artwork and I always say if you need something let me know as we have the reputation of a fully accessorized unit right down to the sewing kit. I am fussy about cleaning and mostly do it myself which includes pillow protectors and mattress pads changed every turn around, Windex every dust surface and Clorox clean up on all bathroom surfaces, sinks, toilets and shower and bath. Cleaning usually takes 3 to 4 hours [4 after this guest] with all floors moped with and industrial sized mop. We are all fortunate that this guest will not be booking with vrbo again.

Beautiful spot on Sugar Beach

We stayed here the first week of Jan. 2017. Considered a holiday week, I was concerned it would be crowded. We were pleasantly surprised to see this was not the case, I'm sure the condos were full but the beach was not. We love Sugar Beach for swimming with little kids, it's fairly calm with no rocks or coral. The condo is well equipped, in fact we asked for beach chairs and they were delivered before we arrived. We brought our grand-kids; Michael provided an awesome stroller, high chair and portacrib and beach toys. Everything you need is there or can be provided. There is even a hair dryer in the bathroom. The only reason I did not give 5 stars, is that I reserve that for beach front. This condo has a beach view, but it is in the rear of the complex. It's clean, the beds are comfortable, the walk in shower is awesome. The A/C is great, we tried it one day and then realized we didn’t need it, the condo stays very cool (our temps were 78-80 degrees during our stay). It's within walking distance to a wonderful little bakery, Sugar Beach Bake Shop (get the fresh made malasadas), Ululani's Save Ice, and an outdoor market. Michael was wonderful with my many questions and needs. We will definitely stay again.
