About Mary-Anne Giglio
My husband, two children and I have lived in the Half Moon Bay area for 20 years and in El Granada for 17 years. We can't imagine living anywhere else - the community is very friendly and quiet and the local natural beauty outstanding. I enjoy walking by the ocean daily and witnessing the variety it offers - sunny, calm and peaceful to windswept and stormy. I see wildlife every day - a variety of birds, sea lions, seals, dolphins and even whales can all be sighted regularly from the Surfers Beach area. In addition, we enjoy kayaking in the harbor area, biking along the coastal trail and hiking at the Purissima Creek Redwoods which is less than 10 miles away. We also enjoy the cultural offerings of our community as well - there is a local theater which offers productions throughout the year, the cafes and bars have a variety of live music every weekend as well as during the week and there are local art offerings such as the annual Pumpkin Festival as well as daily in a number of local galleries. We are fortunate to be near a number of tasty restaurants offering a variety of cuisines - Indian, Seafood, Italian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Nepali as well as variety of cafes and bakeries. If we feel like venturing a bit further abroad, we are only 40 minutes from San Francisco and less than an hour from San Jose where ballet, opera, a myriad of museums, street fairs, festivals, etc await us. Although we thoroughly enjoy our home here by the sea, we also love to travel even further abroad. I have lived in New York and London and have travelled throughout the United States, the British Isles, France and Italy as well as Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. For me one of the greatest pleasures of traveling is meeting people from different places and cultures and we look forward to hosting guests in our VRBO from near and far.

This is the second time I've stayed with Mary-Anne, and both times have been wonderful. The property is quite spacious for our family-of-four, and I think my wife wants to move in permanently given the size of the kitchen and dining room area.
This year, like last year, I was in town to participate in a local triathlon. The race is at the harbor, which was a ten-minute walk (or three-minute bike) from the house; perfect for getting away from the noise of Highway 1 but still being close enough to feel like you're right there.
I made a mistake of not arranging for a late checkout after my race, and while I was sitting at the race (having supposed to have already cleared out of the house) Mary-Anne called me to _apologize to me_ for not checking with me about it -- even though it was 100% my fault. We got things squared away without any friction, and I really look forward to staying here again next year if I come back to the race. Only this time I'll remember to ask about a late checkout on Sunday!
Great place to stay outside of San Francisco.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hosts were very gracious. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and some tidbits. The place was stocked with essentials. Comfortable beds. The apartment was clean and comfortable. It felt like home. Would definitely stay again if I ever return to the area.
A quiet, idyllic getaway
We were so thrilled with the QUIET and the space. It was so convenient to the beach and also to a local shop that has organic food. Also, we love to cook, and it was a pleasure to come to a kitchen so well equipped - from quality cookware all the way down to the wine and champagne glasses. The access to Netflix on a large flat screen TV was a nice convenience. Plenty of carpet space to do yoga as well. Quiet neighbors!
A Nice Property to Stay
This is a nice and clean property to stay. Hostess Mary-Anne is very kind and thoughtful during our stay, let’s feel like stay with our neighbor.
It was a pleasure to host you and your family for your stay in our vacation home. Thank you for the kind comments.
I am curious, however, what we can do to earn a five star rating. Providing our guests with good value for their vacation dollar and a great experience is very important to us. We pride ourselves on a very high level of cleanliness and providing amenities that we think our guests will enjoy. Please let me know how we can improve.
A place that feels like home
Very nice and clean place. Close to the ocean. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.
Comfortable and Convenient
Super comfy beds, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious living area made our stay one we’d love to repeat. Mary Anne welcomed us by leaving a bottle of yummy wine and nibbles. During our four day stay, we were able to walk to everything....hiking trails, restaurants, and an upscale small grocery. What more could anyone ask?
