Luxury Oceanfront Mana Kai Resort Condo

Shared from the owner: "Hi Michael, Thank you for choosing our vacation home as your getaway destination. I am sorry to hear that you were not pleased with some aspects of your stay. The oceanfront bedroom which opens directly into the living room area is a unique feature that many guests enjoy. This feature is illustrated in the listing photos and the unit is legally classified as a two-bedroom and two-bathroom unit in the Grand Deed of the property. To my knowledge, all similar units at Mana Kai are also advertised as two-bedroom and two-bathroom. Mana Kai Maui Resort is one of the most family-friendly resorts on the island. Families with children ranging from infants to young adults enjoy utilizing the pool, lawn, and beaches all the time, and in my experience, the staff have been friendly, kind, and helpful. Of course, since the pool area is a community resource, the HOA has rules that it must enforce in order to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all of its guests. As a homeowner, I do not have control over the enforcement of these rules, but I have never had any complaints from guests before. I got in touch with the building manager to ask about the incident you described, and he confirmed that they have recently begun to enforce a rule against throwing balls in the pool. I'm sorry that this was an inconvenience to you or other guests. As an alternative, we can always recommend the beach or lawn area for playing catch and other outdoor activities. The restaurant on the ground floor of Mana Kai Maui Resort has been closed for renovations since 2022. This closure has been public knowledge, but I sincerely apologize that it wasn't well communicated in our listing! I will remove the restaurant from the listing. We are greatly looking forward to the reopening of the downstairs restaurant, but have found many excellent alternatives that we can recommend to guests in the meantime. For a quick meal, we heartily recommend the fresh-made sandwiches and salads from the 808 general store on the lobby floor. For dinner, there are a wide variety of cuisines at restaurants a short walk or drive away down Kihei Road. If you're in the mood for a longer walk on the beach, walking all the way down the beach to Wailea for dinner at the Shops at Wailea has been a favorite for us and our guests. The Foodland discount card that comes with the unit is also very handy if you're in the mood to grab some Hawaiian short ribs and zucchini to grill on the resort-provided beachside barbecue. We're happy to hear that you liked the beach! Mana Kai Maui Resort sits right on the best beach in Maui and is built much closer to the water than is allowed for new construction.
