When coming to Girdwood do it the “Alaskan Way” by staying in a log cabin. Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins are located on a quiet private road where the property borders the Chugach Forest with access to Beaver Pond Trail. Placer Cabin has two bedrooms and sleeps six people.
Placer Cabin is fully furnished and the full kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots and pans, dishes, glassware and utensils for all your cooking needs. BBQ grill is available during the summer and extra freezer space is available upon request. Other amenities include a wireless internet, basic cable and a video library.
Alyeska Hideaway Log Cabins are two miles from the slopes and are on the Girdwood shuttle route to simplify your transportation needs to the mountain or out to see a show.

Fall tour of AK

We booked the cabin as a stopover on our drive from Denali to Seward. The cabin is set in a peaceful location and had all the needs of home. The host greeted us after check in and gave us a great dinner recommendation which both of us ended up at and it was delicious - Spoonline Bistro. Our second night we cooked in and found everything we needed for a home cooked meal after a brief stop to the local grocery store. The cabin is located in a beautiful mountain range if you are a skier and a short distance to Portage Glacier and Whittier.

The log cabin was so nice and quiet. Very clean and perfect for us as we were enjoying celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary. We would definitely choose to stay there again. So much better than a hotel or condo. We were so happy to find this. The owners were very nice and friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Very cute and great location

This little cabin was awesome. It had everything we needed if we wish to cook and is very clean with great beds and soft towels. The location for us was amazing and near several good restaurants. The owners who live next door made themselves available if needed. We all highly recommend this cabin. Please know that it is about 45 minutes from Anchorage next to a ski resort in a very quiet small community.

Spring break

Wonderful stay! Can't say enough good about the property and the hosts! Lynne and Patrick were friendly and wonderful to deal with. They even found some sleds for us to use! Placer cabin is wonderful and the kitchen and all amenities worked well and as designed. We had three boys ages 7, 11,13 and we all had a great time. Highly recommend.

A Cabin Getaway

This was a great little get away spot. We spent 5 days there and unfortunately spent more time inside than we had hoped due to rain preventing us from getting out and skiing. The cabin, albeit small, was comfortable and well-equipped. Lynne was responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Great cabin

We needed a weekend away, so we stayed at the cabin. It was nestled away from the highway so it was quiet. I especially appreciated that the rental was pet free. The cabin was clean and cozy, just what we needed so we could relax.

Wonderful accommodations!

Cabin was absolutely adorable, clean and stocked with more items than we expected. We usually stay at a nearby hotel and are so happy we branched out and chose this cabin. The host was very quick to respond to a couple questions we had was very friendly. We’ll definitely stay here again for all future Girdwood trips.

Fantastic Cabin

We had a great, short stay in this cabin. The cabin is very well stocked and has a lot of charm. It was more than enough room for our family of four. You could tell the owners take a lot of pride in the condition of the rental and small details. The location was very convenient for us, but we still felt a little off the beaten path. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and would stay here if return to the area.

Great Girdwood cabin

We enjoyed our stay in this well appointed, clean, and comfortable cabin. We had everything we needed and enjoyed friends visiting while we were there from Nome, Anchorage and Wasilla, and got to ski, cross country ski, and fat tire bike! Girdwood brewery is outstanding, double Muskie, sitzmark, bake shop, and chair 5 are all favorites for eats. Thanks again!

Great get away in Girdwood

This cabin is super cute, clean and the owners live right next door and are responsive to requests. The cabin was well stocked with utensils for cooking. Such a great place to get away and still be close to everything in Girdwood.

Highly Recommend

Placer cabin is a great little hideaway and the hosts, Lynne' & family, certainly knows how to make their guests feel welcome. The cabin is sparkling clean and feels like home when you walk through the door. Even left us a special snack that we devoured on the train ride to Whittier. The cabin is in a great location with great amenities.Our only regret was not staying longer. We highly recommend Placer cabin and it's host family.

Gorgeous, Modern Log Cabin

Comforts of home but all the beauty of the Alaska. Our hosts were terrific and the stay was warm, comfortable and clean. Highly recommend this vacation getaway!
