Ocean Front Condo with Ocean and Mountain Views on Beautiful Ma`alaea Bay.

Welcome to Island Sands, an ocean front community that sits along the waterfront away from the road. Spectacular ocean and mountain views!

Lynn owns this fourth floor 675 sq. ft. condo provides peaceful ocean viewing and full views of Mt. Haleakala and Upcountry Maui. There is an ocean front swimming pool and gas grill BBQ area. This is a great central location particularly during the winter months. Ma`alaea Bay is where the whales play and have their babies. Humpback whales can be seen in abundance from your lanai from December through April.

This unit includes window A/C in the living room and two ceiling fans, FREE Wi-Fi Internet access for your laptop and other devices. This unit is spacious, bright and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is newly renovated and fully stocked with dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, full size fridge. Linens and towels are supplied; there is a washer/dryer inside the unit; a telephone for free calls to USA and Canada, and cable TV. There is a vintage art collection featuring Hawaiian artists and library stocked with books on Hawaiian history. The master bedroom has a King size bed for your sleeping comfort and full sofa bed in the living room. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided for your convenience. This home is a wonderful value and sleeps up to 3 people.

This peaceful setting is wonderful for your morning coffee or romantic sunset viewing. Heading south along the safe sidewalk within a short walk past a few condominium properties is Haycraft Park. At Haycraft begins the longest undeveloped beach on the island, where you can walk, shell hunt and swim along the shore for miles in peace away from the crowds. Within a few miles you'll reach Sugar Beach at the other end of Ma`alaea Bay. This begins the community of Kihei on the way to Wailea and Makena.

Heading north is Ma'alaea Harbor. If there is a big south swell, the wave off the harbor, "Freight Trains," can be one of the best in the world attracting expert surfers. From your lanai view surfers from around the world surfing the famous wave.

A ten minute walk along the waterfront or the sidewalk takes you to the shops and restaurants at Ma'alaea Harbor. Ma`alaea is centrally located between Central, South and West Maui. By car, twenty minutes to Lahaina, ten to twenty minutes to Kihei/Wailea and fifteen minutes to the airport. The Maui Bus stops at Ma`alaea Village takes you almost anywhere on the island.

Harbor amenities include snorkel and tour boats to Molokini and sunset sails. The Pacific Whale Foundation is located here along with the Maui Ocean Center and the Maui Golf and Sports Park with miniature golf, trampoline, rock climbing and bumper boats. Kealia National Wildlife Refuge and the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary are a short drive away.

Island Sands is a quiet, friendly place with Aloha Friday. Enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts 8:00-9:00 am.

Every Maui Vision property listed is a non-smoking home, this includes the lanai (balcony) and hallways.

About Kathy McCartney

Kathy McCartney is the owner of MauiVision Rentals. MauiVision became a reality and a business starting with Ms. McCartney's personal condo C618. The idea to start her own business came about while working for her friends Sharene and Harrison Klein of Hawaii-Holiday. Her friends were in need of a vacation and Kathy volunteered to house sit their beautiful Big Island home and business office. The Klein's have been a guiding force in helping Kathy get started with her business.

'MauiVision is a business I love because I get to share the Aloha Spirit, the beauty of the land, and talk story with people from around the world. It is nice to know that we can contribute to someone's Hawaiian vacation experience in a positive way. We love to hear back from our happy guests.'

Kathy used to live on the island of Oahu with her US Navy family when she was a young girl. Her family later moved to Southern California. She knew that one day she would return to Hawaii, the place she fell in love with long ago. Taking a leap of faith she purchased her Maui condo June 2002 this was the beginning of fulfilling her prophecy of once again returning to Hawaii soil.

Beautifully maintained property with stunning view

We stayed for 3 weeks at Unit 401 and have since done nothing but brag to all our friends. The condo is beautiful and has everything you need for extended stays. Pretty remodeled kitchen with all cooking supplies, utensils, linens, soap for washer/dryer, dishwasher and probably the best king size bed we'd ever slept on. The lanai is to die for-very large with table and chairs and extra seating and the building is set so each unit has a full on ocean view, which is spectacular. The condo is much closer to the ocean than the picture shown. The building is very well taken care of and all the visitors and residents are extremely nice. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Free coffee and donuts on Friday, pool small but never crowded and best grills we have ever seen.

We also loved this area. Maui grew a lot since 1998 and Kihei is just too much noise and action for us. You can drive there very quickly though and tour the lovely beaches, have lunch, get groceries and get out there back to the piece and quiet of Maalaea Bay. Located within walking distance of the Aquarium and boat harbor, it is a charming area all its own. Beach Bums Restaurant was our favorite place to eat and all the staff treats you like family. Make your fishing, scuba, dinner sails all right there--no driving involved--just a pretty walk to the boat in the morning or evening. Deli and scuba and merchandise shops next to Beach Bums.

We will stay again--am missing that lanai right now. Thank you for turning your condo into a vacation rental, Lynn.

This condo is a great location and the view from the deck is amazing.

We loved our stay at the Island Sands this March 2017. The condo is equipped with everything that you need. It was very quiet in the unit and there was such a nice breeze that would blow through every day and night. We never used air conditioning.The longest walking beach in Maui is just a few blocks down the shore. This beach is beautiful. There is a wildlife preserve along the beach so there aren't any buildings along that stretch of beach for miles. It is very peaceful for walking and hanging out. There are sea turtles everywhere there. We spent hours watching them swim and eat. Our location was pretty central to everything making it very convenient. We would recommend this condo and we would stay there again. Thank you Kathy for sharing this unit with us. Don and Marie

Wonderful place to stay but it IS pretty windy out there. Incredible views of the bay and whales right from our lanai! Really nice unit. Clean and comfy. But the gal in the condo bldg office downstairs does not represent the complex very well. Terrible attitude, rude, and made little effort to let residents know the water was going to be off one morning. Nice when you're in the middle of a shower. Not HER problem..... Other than her the place is very nice. Love the koi pond in the lobby and they have super recycling habits there!! Nice to see. Very central location!! And great rates.

Loved it! The bed was very comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, everything you need was supplied, including ziplock bags. The place was decorated with great taste.

  • The condo will be cleaned prior to your arrival and the day of your departure. Additional housekeeping services during your stay are available for an additional charge

    $200 deposit required to hold your reservation. Balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. Cancellation must be received in writing/e-mail. There is a $200 non-refundable cancelation fee should you cancel outside of 60 days prior to your arrival. If cancellation occurs within 60 days of arrival, we will refund the rent paid if we are able to re-rent the condo. We can only refund for the days we are able to re-rent, less the $200 USD cancelation fee. However, we do try very hard to re-rent it and have sometimes been successful in the past depending on how much lead-time we have.

    Rates listed for 2 occupants. Additional charges apply for 3rd guest. Maximum 3 occupants in condo.

    Every Maui Vision property listed is a non-smoking home, this includes the lanai (balcony) and hallways.

    The separate $200.00 USD security deposit you pay is fully refundable. It will be held and returned within 14 days after your departure date. The security deposit will be used if excessive cleaning or damage to unit is beyond normal wear and tear. NO SMOKING ALLOWED inside the unit or outside on the lanai or hallways. Any costs to remove the smell or damage of the smoke will either be covered by the guest in violation of this policy or be taken out of the security deposit.
