"Yes Deer" is a peaceful rental that offers a welcoming and relaxing environment. The home is tastefully decorated and very clean, with a well equipped kitchen that makes meal preparation a breeze. Additionally, the beds are comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. Guests can also enjoy the serene outdoor surroundings, where multiple seating areas make it easy to unwind and connect with nature. The only caveat is that the dock was difficult to locate, which may be alleviated with detailed instructions in the booklet provided.

Love Deadwood

We had a great stay in Deadwood! Would have liked to been closer to downtown but this cute basement apartment had a trolley stop right outside! Was clean and decorated cute!

The apartment is a basement with steps of course which I don’t believe was made clear in the ad. There is ac but no thermostat in the basement apartment ! Sleeper had no linens, no extra linen except on a daybed.

We believe it offers great value for the amount of space provided. Had you reached out during your stay, we would’ve been happy to assist with adjusting the temperature or directing you to the extra linens and blankets.The unit stays naturally cool, but we also provide space heaters, additional blankets, and a gas fireplace that gives off excellent heat to ensure guest comfort. We always appreciate hearing from guests so we can address any concerns in real time."

Not the worst stay

The inside was nice and the proximity to Main Street was nice. The stairs getting down to the housing area was incredibly loud, the walls were paper thin and I could hear everything going on upstairs. I was given a contact number for a lady if I had any questions, I called her to get clarification on the confusing parking situation and I was never able to get through. This would have all been ok had I not had almost 200$ in surcharges on top of the room rate. Although I like the room itself and it’s location, I will choose one of the cabins just outside of town the next time I come through.

This includes providing a comprehensive breakdown of all rates and fees before reservations are confirmed. Your comfort and satisfaction are important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. -Our Evolve team is always here to answer any questions prior to check-in. Although the homeowner didn't hear from you during your stay, they are always ready to promptly address any concerns if guests reach out. -Regarding parking, we haven't received any previous reports of concerns. BASEMENT with wicked stairs

Stairs to basement were narrow and steep with a turn in the middle. Hard to navigate for these old ladies. Sheets were left in the washer, we threw them by in the dryer. No chairs to sit outside of this apartment. Glass on table top moves a lot. No heat except portable heaters and fireplace fan was really noisy. No hot pads or butcher knives in the kitchen. Parking is really bad. Told 2 spots but sign on door says 1. No way a car will fit between the lines maybe a motorcycle. Poor access to parking. Can’t move between parked cars and garage. Driveway needs work. Otherwise had a great time!

We're disappointed that your stay did not go as smoothly as would have liked. -We take guest transparency seriously and do note a disclaimer regarding both sets of stairs on our listing. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing to find the right space for their needs. -Our listing photos also do not show any chairs available to sit outside and we apologize if you were expecting them. -You are right that there is no heat at the property other than the portable heater and gas fireplace. This is noted on our listing. -Regarding the kitchen amenities, we provide the basics necessary for a short-term vacation rental, and we regret if they did accommodate you. -We're sorry if the parking information caused any confusion. Our top unit is another vacation rental and the parking is shared between both places so we cannot guarantee two parking spaces will be available, only one. Budget friendly, excellent location. However, while we knew we were staying in a basement, we did not know that we would be sleeping in the same room as the hot water heater tank & AC/Heat units. The room smelled weird, sort of musty/damp; the noise while trying to sleep was awful. We honestly wanted to leave after the first night. The tenants upstairs control the AC/Heat (we knew that), but we did not know the we would have to sleep in a 58 degree room. We had to run the heaters in the rooms in July all day. The beds only have a sheet and a coverlet so you can't get warm in the 58 degree room-no extra blankets-I looked. In a review someone mentioned the noise from the upstairs; they are correct. You can hear every single step, cough, urination, toilet flush, conversations, etc. The shower is so small that to try to wash the soap from your hair, you have to lean so far forward your nose touches the wall; the shower head is not adjustable. The shower doesn't have a door on it-a plastic shower curtain touches you while you shower. We were going to cook, but didn't bother because the appliances were so old, I was not sure how to use them. The washer/dryer are over 20 years old. The cabinets & large appliances were probably that old or older. I wanted to give this very cutely decorated basement a great review, but the poor sensory experience was too much. Cold, dark, noisy, & oddly smelling, but it is budget friendly & in a prime location if you can take the sensory overload.

I'm sorry to hear that your stay didn’t fully meet your expectations.Our unit is an authentic mid-century modern space, and we intentionally preserved its original features, including the cabinets and oven, which are fully functional and user-friendly. Many guests appreciate the charm and character these elements bring, but I understand that style preferences can vary.The unit is clearly listed as a basement apartment, which naturally tends to be cooler than upper floors, especially in historic homes like those found in Deadwood. That said, we do provide extra blankets (two of which were available in the dresser), portable heaters, and a fully functioning gas fireplace, all to ensure guest comfort.As for your concern about noise from the upstairs guests, I appreciate you bringing it to my attention. I reached out to them immediately, and they were very understanding and respectful for the remainder of your stay, as you noted at the time.Deadwood is proud of its history, and many of the homes here are older, with all the charm, and occasional creaks that come with that. We do our best to balance that historic character with comfort, and we always welcome feedback to improve.Thank you again for staying with us."
