Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

The whole family will love staying at Mountain Mist—and that includes your four-legged family members! The 2-bedroom, pet-friendly log cabin is located in Hidden Springs Resort, less than 5 minutes from Dollywood. It’s also just a quick drive to so many other local attractions, including Dixie Stampede, the Titanic Museum, Gatlinburg Golf Course, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. What’s more, the resort has an indoor pool, so you can swim year-round, rain or shine.

As for the cabin itself, “delightful” is perhaps the best way to describe it. The great room, for instance, features a double-height wall of windows that lets you admire the lush woodlands outside even as you kick back on the sofa to watch TV or curl up in the armchair to surf the web via the free WiFi. The sunlight streaming in shows off the wood-planked floors, walls, and towering vaulted ceiling to perfection. And on cool winter nights, the stacked-stone fireplace will warm up the room with a golden glow.

You can savor the views of the trees while savoring a meal at the log-style dining table, which seats 6 with room to spare. Sure, there are scores of restaurants nearby—Italian, barbecue, Mexican, Indian, and of course, all-American comfort food. But especially after a day on the go, it can be more relaxing (and easier on the wallet) to eat in. Mountain Mist’s dining area is so charming, you’ll want to linger long after the meal is over. Bring your Monopoly board or Uno deck, and after the table’s been cleared, segue from a fun-filled family meal to a laugh-filled family game night. Another after-dinner option: Head to the upstairs game room for a round of pool at the full-size billiard table. To make things even more interesting, why not declare that the loser has to cook breakfast the next morning?

Mountain Mist’s kitchen is equipped with just about all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you need to prepare breakfast or any other meal. There’s a grill outside as well, plus a kitchen island for extra counter space and a dishwasher to make cleaning up a cinch. And speaking of cleaning up, the cabin has its own washer and dryer. This might be the first time you return home from vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes!

Each of Mountain Mist’s 2 spacious bedrooms has a king-size bed and a full bathroom, which will make getting ready in the morning hassle-free. If you have additional guests, they can sleep in the great room: The sofa opens into a bed for 2.

The master suite is especially luxurious. Next to the flat-panel TV is a fireplace—just the thing to create a romantic ambiance. And the en-suite bathroom includes a jetted tub. No matter how tired your muscles are after a day of hiking, fishing, or chasing the kids around Dollywood, a leisurely soak among the tub’s massaging jets of water will rejuvenate them in no time.

You can also laze in the steamy bubbles of a hot tub out on the deck. The singing of chickadees in the morning and whip-poor-wills at night will make your soak even more relaxing. In addition to the hot tub, the deck has plenty of rocking chairs so that everyone can enjoy the fresh mountain breeze whispering through the trees. Nighttime is especially magical, with the panoply of twinkling stars, the chirruping of crickets, and the hooting of owls. Let the kids stay up late for a memory you’ll all cherish.

When you stay at Mountain Mist, you can be sure of creating plenty of memorable experiences—and isn’t that what a family vacation is all about? So book your stay today, and get ready for what might be your best vacation yet.

Very nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

Check in clearly said 3pm. We drove 12 hours and were ready to get out of the car and were told we couldn’t check in until 4pm. WiFi is not good, but it was a very pretty cabin, fully stocked with essentials and lots of room. We had a wonderful time.

Underwhelming

  • 2 of 5

The cabin was not as clean as one would like. The showers were for people the size of a broom-stick, you cannot turn around in the showers or move and the water settings in showers were a joke. The cabin was continually being over ran with huge black ants. We will never ever use this place again. The cabin in all honesty was "nasty" and represents the site in a bad manner.

Owner's Response: Thank you Denise for taking the time to share your review. Your input, as well as all our guest feedback is vitally important as we want all guests expectations to be met upon arrival. We sincerely apologies for falling short of expectations. All properties are treated monthly for pest control and we are sorry there was an ant issue. We do have a 24/7 on call service department and if we would have known, we would have sent someone out promptly to take care of the issue. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip to the Smokies, giving us the opportunity to exceed all expectations.

Slept 6 comfortably, everything needed was right at hand. We had a great time. This cabin location is close to everything. The indoor pool was great also. The hot tub and pool table were added amenities that were amazing to have available.
