About The Owner

David & JJ fell in love with Montana over 26 years ago and made the decision to raise their family near the mountains of Glacier National Park.

David found his way to Montana as a young man who left Atlanta, Georgia to build a homestead with his three college buddies in the remote Alaska wilderness. After building his Alaska cabin, David made his way back down to Montana and never left.

JJ has spent her entire life living in the Rocky Mountain West from Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and now Montana. She found her forever home in Whitefish where she met David at the Great Northern Bar, bought a small railroad house in town and now raises their three kids.

It's always a creative challenge living in Montana. David has been blessed by making a living doing what he loves which is writing and performing his original music. His music has taken him from Many Glacier Hotel to the Kennedy Center and everywhere in between.

JJ loves playing with her kids, hiking with her dog, and making websites - all in the same day! She started her own company, FlyGirls Media, to help small businesses harness the power of the web by telling their story online.

They own/manage two other rental properties centered around Glacier Country:

The StoneHouse at Duck Lake on the east side of Glacier National Park (https://www.vrbo.com/328654?unitId=328654)

The Railway Loft in Whitefish is owned by JJ's sister and is managed by the couple. (https://www.vrbo.com/405582?unitId=405582)

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2017

Why The Owner chose Glacier Country

You know that term - 'Love at first sight' - well, it's true, at least when it came to this cabin. We happened upon this cabin for sale and after meeting the wonderful owners, (we became instant friends!) we knew we needed to be the next stewards of this beautiful homestead.

It was obvious the cabin was impeccably well cared for.

The cabin was recently remodeled a few years ago with special attention to Montana craftsmanship and designed to enhanced this little rustic cabin to a luxury mountain get away.

We are in LOVE with this cabin and thrilled to share this unique Montana cabin with you!

What makes this cabin unique

Unique Benefits? Where do we start?

• The Cabin at West Glacier is minutes from the entrance to Glacier National Park.

• We are located across from Glacier View Golf Club - three season golfing and winter cross country skiing.

• The Middle Fork River is literally across the street. You can put in a river raft, kayak or small boat at the access point down the road or just walk across the way to sit by the river, fish, or take a quick swim.

• If blustery weather has you inside, the cabin is a warm, comfortable retreat for reading books and relaxing by the wood stove.

• Our kitchen is fully equipped, so delicious meals can be prepared easily.

• We also have an indoor "spa" bathroom - a beautiful tiled shower and jetted bathtub perfect for soaking after a long day exploring Glacier.

• Wildlife is right outside. Possible visits from bears, eagles, deer, elk, moose, & even locals! :)

• Down the road are incredible outdoor activities - white water rafting, helicopter sight-seeing tours, guided hiking, great restaurants, distillery!, water park in Columbia Falls, zip lines, golf courses, horse back riding, swimming holes, and the list goes on!

Perfect homebase for exploring Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

We spent an amazing week in this wonderful cabin located near the entrance to GNP. The Flathead River is just steps from the cabin and we had fun playing on the river as well. Great hosts, very responsive and thoughtful. We hope to return soon!

Exceeded our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for our family of 5. Golf Course backs up to the back yard and just across the road is the river--great for wading. Just outside the gate at West Glacier. The village of West Glacier is very accessible from the cabin. If I had known how convenient the market was to the cabin, I would not have purchased groceries in Columbia Falls.

The kitchen has all of the tools we needed to prepare meals. Beds are heavenly and the bathrobes were a nice touch.

Could not have asked for a better experience. JJ and David are super hosts.

Perfect retreat right outside of Glacier National Park

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five had a wonderful stay in West Glacier. Our main attraction was Glacier National Park and this was a perfect location to call home! We were just a couple of minutes from the west entrance and it was easy to get to. The home was furnished with everything we needed on our stay. There is a small grocery store in West Glacier for your most common needs. There was plenty of seating for our family, plenty of bed space and the washer & dryer were a very convenient use during our stay. Our children, ages 9, 6, 4, were very comfortable in this home and also in the yard. You are not secluded from neighbors but have plenty of space to have outdoor living. We walked a short distance to the river and waded in the water. We traveled Going to the Sun Road, hiked some trails and swam at Lake McDonald. JJ met us at the home to make sure we were comfortable with everything and shared good recommendations of nearby places to visit and eat. We were so glad she recommended we find some huckleberry pie! Yum!

I would highly recommend this cabin for your stay!

Charming cabin with everything you could possibly need for a wonderful Glacier getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The property owners have put so much thought into this cabin. Everything from the fully stocked kitchen to the movie library was perfect. The kids loved the loft upstairs! It's was clean comfortable and cozy.

Every evening around 7:00, we would get a visit from a beautiful deer. He wouldn't come up to us but it would just stand there and look at us while we sat in the back porch.

We will definitely book this cabin when we come back! Glacier National Park is so beautiful and the location was perfect for us.
