We had a wonderful time. The house has everything one needs, most of all stupendous views from the balcony overlooking Charlotteville. The house is just a few minutes drive to both Speyside and Charlotteville. It’s also a short walk to the top of the hill with more stunning views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean side.The owners, who live nearby, gave us the perfect welcome, not intrusive, just helpful - genuine, lovely people.A truly ideal place to get away and relax in comfort. Highly recommended!!!

Had a fabulous vacation at Villa Escalante overlooking the picturesque Englishman's Bay. The Villa has the most beautiful views of the bay, was always a great way to start the morning watching and listening to the sounds of the ocean. The host [Donna] was very responsive during the booking process and answered all our questions very quickly. The housekeeper [Anne] and groundskeepers [Mr. Buffalo] we're also very pleasant. The Villa had everything we needed during our stay, we really enjoyed have access to a gas grill, as we cooked most of our meals at the property. Make sure to get some fresh fish at one of the local villages. Would definitely recommend this Villa to anyone looking for a peaceful location in this general area of Tobago.

We planned to stay 2 days but extended to 6: such a gorgeous location and pleasant apartment, we didn’t want to leave. Modest but very adequate furnishings, comfortable bed. Swimming and jetty to buy fresh fish close by. Owner Dale is a kind and attentive host, who did everything possible to help us. Neighbor Joanne can provide delicious meals. Highly recommended!

Bella Vista has become our getaway of choice in Tobago. It's comfortable, serene, safe and has a unforgettable view of Charlotteville valley and bay.

The location is ideal for people looking for a place away from the busy areas. The house is beautiful with breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean. Coffee on the porch was the ideal way to wake up. Overall, a perfect getaway.

We loved waking up every morning to watch the parrots from our hammocks…the chakalaka birds sure didn't let us miss it! Our first breakfast was grapefruits right off the tree on the property…our only regret was not being there in wet season because they also have mangos, bananas, and more all over the property! In general, this villa was a relaxing and romantic escape in the rainforest…though I'd definitely recommend a 4x4 vehicle to get up to the estate. Castara is only a 10 minute drive and the beautiful Englishman's Bay Beach is closeby, though a fairly steep hike! The house itself came loaded with extras that we were appreciative of…lots of cooking ware, extra towels and bedding, games, and beers in the fridge when we arrived. We did have an incident with the stove burner being a bit old and the element frying on us but the barbecue turned out to be a better option anyway! Jason, who tends to the grounds and the guests, was absolutely amazing to us…he brought us all of the local fruits we should try and even a catch of the day fish with some local herbs and spices. He also showed us around the property and taught us about everything they grow there. This villa is definitely a hidden gem and if you want a more remote getaway in the middle of nature, you need to check it out!

For anybody that wants peace nature stunning views simple but comfortable . This is for them . It’s well off the beaten track 5 mins from stunning Englishman’s Bay and with most needs catered for in Castara 10 mins away . Wonderful indoor/outdoor existence . The pool is a great bonus . You need a car and a little bit of an adventurous spirit and you will be well rewarded

We loved staying at the villa! The place is exactly as described. I agree with the owners honest assessment that the villa is not for everyone, as it is not suitable for younger kids. you do need your own transportation and be comfortable with being in a setting away from it all. Having said that we were a family of five with three children over the age of 10 and we absolutely loved our stay there!
