Vacation rentals near Makua Beach

We enjoyed the space as a nice little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of tourists in Oahu. The apartment has plenty of room for two people and an additional guest or child. Our host also had made the space very relaxing with special lighting, the plants and outdoor lanai, and a cozy bedroom with office space if you have to work away from home. It was just perfect for our travels and many places to explore on the North Shore. Definitely would come back!

I rented this hoise for 12 days, it was really clean, organized, the beach was within walking distance, beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, 45 min away from honolulu, ala moana center and all the atractions. The neighborhood was quite very good location.

It was a beautiful little side home to stay in that had all we need. I was a little confused because the listing showed the whole house and the sq ft is wrong as you only get like a studio size area but it was cute and clean and super easy to check in.

Reyna’s adorable beach house is absolutely perfect!! From the moment you walk in, you’re swept away with the incredible view!! The decor was adorable and beachy. The rooms were cute with comfy beds and ceiling fans. The house was stocked with everything imaginable! Beach chairs, beach towels, coffee, condiments, spices, and necessities. You name it, Reyna had it! The pictures in the listing really don’t even do justice to the beach house. It truly is a little slice of heaven!! If I ever find myself back on Oahu, Reyna’s place is where I’m staying!!!

The property was fantastic, well appointed, had everything from snorkel gear to washer and drier. Spices for cooking were there. Nice pans. Great view. Very happy with our stay.

We had a wonderful time and the recent renovation they have done is beautiful! They did a great job. Brenda was responsive, friendly and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we had all the amenities we needed. There’s a few grocery stores nearby where you can pick up staples. We came across many people who vacation here that have come to the same place for many years. It sounds like there has progressively been an increase in the homeless population, which I was aware of in Hawaii overall. It was just sad to see so many of them have overtaken a lot of the beach areas. Thankfully, though this property has a beautiful beach, that is closely monitored by security guards at this building and the neighboring property. So you can feel safe and confident when you are on the beach, enjoying yourself. We saw some of the most beautiful sunsets and views of the full moon from our balcony. We also got to see a seal that came up on the beach and a huge turtle swimming in the waves. We would love to come back and stay at this property!

This van was amazing to rent and travel in! Check in and return process were super streamlined and thorough, really appreciated the owners walking through all the features in person and being flexible with checkout location. There are lots of quirks that come with an older vehicle, like no ac and a bit slower highway speeds. But these were expected and the small fan plus window vents made nights sleeping even in pretty warm temperatures doable, much better when there was a breeze. And we were able to get around everywhere we wanted to reliably and safely. Since this vehicle is so iconic, we also had lots of positive interactions with fellow travelers and locals who seemed excited to see a rig like this traveling around the island! Really appreciated all the little touches and how homey everything felt :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Communication was perfect. We arrived a bit on the early side and the housekeeper was very generous in letting us in early. Makaha Shores is a hidden gem.....a great mix of locals, residents, and vacationers. Would recommend this unit 100 percent.
