  • Fantastic Property and Location

"My wife and I along with four friends recently stayed at the Dew Drop Inn in Clearwater. We needed a place large enough for all six of us to stay while we were attending the Clearwater Jazz Festival. We could not have chosen a better place as it was only about a mile or so to Coachman Park where the Festival was being held. The property was as advertised in the listing description, very clean and well maintained by Bruce and Melody the owners who live next door. The large house with a quaint front porch reminded us of places that we grew up in or visited back in our younger days. The interior of the house is so beautiful and very, very comfortable for all of us. Not often can you get 6 people to agree on everything but all of us did do that in regards to staying here. We are hoping to return for next years Festival. Bruce and Melody have some other properties to rent nearby so check them out! We would also like to give a shout out to "Lenny's" a fantastic restaurant that is not too far away and has the best breakfast anywhere!"

  • Great Condo and Vacation

"We have visited this area of Clearwater Beach several times over the years and knew it was one of the best areas along the beach. The beach is gorgeous with beautiful white sand, well maintained and just outside the crowds where you can truly relax and enjoy yourself while still being close enough to all the fun activities. However this was our first time staying in this particular condo and I can assure you it will not be our last. The condo was beautifully decorated, very clean, everything including the beautiful kitchen was so well furnished is was amazing. It was also exciting to see they even had beach towels, beach blankets, coolers, very nice beach chairs and many other accessories that made this vacation exceptional. Kudos to Christina and Paul for all the little extra things they do to make this such a great place to stay!"

  • pleasant place to stay

"Pieces of Eight was just what I was looking-for - an economical place to stay with the basic needs for home-style living. The motels in the under $100.00/day category are mostly dumps and you only get a bed(s) and a bathroom. I have visited this area many times over the years and places like this along the beach are pushing their prices too high. Our accommodations were small, but clean and we had everything we needed there,: a bed for two in a bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living/dining area. The fridge and stove worked and we had all the dishes, pots and pans we could use as well as small appliances. The TV was small but where you sit is so close it doesn't matter :-) and there was a working PVR there so that I could record any shows I wanted to watch later. The two air conditioners worked well and were more than enough to cool-off this space....plus there were three ceiling fans to help move the air. Water pressure was good. I liked the courtyard and the shade that the trees provided. There was a BBQ available in the second courtyard, along with a table and chairs....unfortunately it was so hot the week we were there that I couldn't bear to use them! The only thing that I suggest is that Steve have some ventilation installed in the bathroom, to pull-out all that moisture from people having a shower. That will help the a/c unit in the bedroom do its job without working 'over-time'. Owner Steve was around every day working around the place and always available for help or just a talk. If something like a light bulb needs replacing when Steve is not around and you don't mind doing it yourself, just go to the laundry room and get one; there are supplies in there. It was handy having the beach right across the street. There are few good restaurants within a reasonable walking distance or a less-than-five-minute drive, and two really good places for ice cream. So, if you don't require all-new hotel-style furniture and amenities or a large living space, Pieces of Eight is a good place to stay at a reasonable price."

"We just had a wonderful vacation at this apartment. It is spacious, equipped with everything you could need, 2 bedrooms, washer and dryer, full kitchen, close to everything, across the street to the beach and beautiful views. Madeira beach is a wonderful place to stay also. We will definitely recommend it specially if you have kids, it is a wonderful place to stay. We will repeat for sure."
