  • Great Property in a Magical Place

"The home was exactly what our Group of 6 needed. Everything was exactly as we had read, and communication with the owners was easy & clear. The house was spotless, & had all of the amenities we could think of. The location was just minutes from some of the best North Shore dive & snorkel spots. The Elevated patio was a treat, and we spent many evenings there enjoying the sunset. We would absolutely recommend this to friends & would stay there again in a heartbeat."

  • Perfect place at the perfect location!

"We stayed at this condo for 11 days in September, 2016. It has been exquisitely renovated, is on the end of the 8th floor, with a wrap around balcony, outfitted with everything you might need: extensive cookware, beach chairs & umbrellas, snorkel gear ... the works (we even left behind a boogie board we bought while there). Literally, all you need to bring is clothes, and not as many of those as you might think, since there was a washer/dryer. We had quiet nearly empty beaches, and a lot of "mom & pop - hole in the wall" restaurants with relatively inexpensive good food within a few miles. We highly recommend Uncle BoBo's BBQ, the kalua pig plate lunch at Keneke Grill, and fantastic burgers & hot dogs at Seven Brothers. There's also a couple of grocery stores within a few miles if you prefer to save some bucks by staying in and cooking. You'll find every cooking implement and appliance you could possibly want or need. The place is just as described, was totally clean and we found no need for anything that wasn't already there. We made some great memories there, and hope to go back someday. Thanks, Damien!"

  • Charming and Delightful

"Our party of four loved staying at Blue Ginger. First of all Kathy, the owner, was very helpful in addressing all my questions prior to and after our stay. She really does an outstanding job providing all you may need for your stay. We were welcomed by a lovely bowl of fruit (the apple bananas were delish!) and a basket with coffee, tea, chocolates, etc.) The house was clean and kitchen was fully stocked – even included zip lock bags, paper towels, OFF bug spray, and some seasonings. The flower arrangements were gorgeous. The décor was charming and beds comfortable. We did have an occasional gecko that crawled on the walls, and a frog seemed to be sitting at the back door waiting to be invited in, but that just added to the charm of staying in a tropical home. There were plenty of bath and beach towels. She even provided laundry soap to wash our clothes. We enjoyed the BBQ one evening (included all the nec. tools). We left the windows open the entire time to allow the trade winds to flow through the house and it was wonderful. At night we did hear the traffic on the highway, but the sound of the waves crashing was so soothing it lullabied us to sleep. In the morning we could watch the sunrise from the windows in the front living room, but every morning I walked across the street sat on a picnic bench, or a rock on the beach to watch the sunrise. There are lots of crab holes and in the morning and when the sun came up, they would run out to the ocean! The beach gear was helpful to have, especially the rolling cooler, and beach mats. We took one of the Kayaks out across the street. We went snorkeling at Turtle Bay (nice calm waters), the rip currents at Sharks Cove were strong but we got to see a dolphin jumping around, and a beached Monk Seal – she swam right passed us to get back into the ocean. We ate at Uncle Bobo’s, a tiny little BBQ place up the road that was recommended by the owner and it was so good! We also ate at the Shrimp Truck which was a 3 minute walk to Ching’s Store (but I preferred the Shrimp Scampi plate we had a Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck which was about a 20 minute drive along the Hwy). North Shore Tacos was good and open late. The home and the area was quiet, relaxing and beautiful. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to those who are not expecting that high-end resort vacation lifestyle but rather a nice quiet, relaxing tropical home away from home."

  • Very good location

"We just returned from spending a week in the Ginger House. The location was great. Easy to get to the market some food trucks. We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Pearl Harbor Memorial and Dole Pineapple as well as the beach and golf activities. We were quite close to everything except for the Pearl Harbor Memorial. We went on a Saturday morning so the traffic would not be with the commuters. The Ginger House has a nice layout but there were a few maintenance problems that needed to be corrected. The management has been contacted and I am assuming these items will be taken care of. A real plus for this house is the provision of bikes, snorkel equipment and beach footwear. Very much appreciated. We also loved the room air only had rooms that we were using turned on. Also, the ceiling fans helped a great deal. The deck outside was great with a beautiful view of the ocean. The kitchen was well equipped - just needed salt & pepper shakers!! The beds were comfortable and the house was clean. We were a family of 5 (4 adults & 1 child) and the space was just right for us. I would suggest you arrive at this house during the it could be very difficult to find in the dark. I certainly would recommend this home for your vacation."
